Napa sells some pretty solid sensors

I would stay away from NAPA sensors. I have seen many of them actually blow out.

Here is link for XDP. The napas will work but they will fail prematurely and I’ve had a bunch of them blow oil out through the sensor. I can’t tell you how many 6.0s have been at my shop for aftermarket sensors. These 6.0s and 7.3s are picky about the icp sensors.

Is that from the dealer? That’s insane. I order through places like riff raffles diesel and xdp. They have the oems for around 150-170 currently. Some dealerships up charge like crazy.

I just bought a fraudulent ford icp sensor and ipr Both in ford packaging. Could tell on ipr right away because no stamp numbers on part anywhere.. icp was a way better fake. Had stamp and all. But packaging was a little off. And no vent holes in package. How this is allowed is beyond me.

Yeah I’m not sure. You really gotta watch out on EBay and Amazon for them. I try to stick with the known sellers like Rudy’s diesel and fairway ford on eBay. Swag performance also has been oem. I stay away from the random sellers. Amazon I stay with the ford.com.

How do you like the coolant filter kit ? I’ve heard mixed opinions on them

Tbh I’m unsure still. I haven’t put enough miles on it yet to change the filter. I’m sure it will help a little with catching contaminants but not everything because it’s not directly inline either the system it’s an add on. Which you wouldn’t really want to make It inline to the system because it could stop up eventually or prevent adequate flow. IMO it’s a cool upgrade but not really needed I kinda just added it to add it if that makes sense. If you want to keep your oil cooler from plugging the best bet is flushing the system every now and again and getting rid of the gold coolant.

Get one. I was iffy on it with them just being a bypass style but after installing one and changing it after 500 miles, I cut it open and you wouldn't believe the amount of shit they catch

Can you put a newer(later years) ICP sensor on a 2003 6.0? I’ve read it fits, is smaller and only takes a 15/16” socket instead of 1 1/16….. I’ve got a P2258 with some throttle surging, going to check some things before I start throwing $ at it though. Any advice is greatly appreciated

I think they will work on each other 03 and 04-07 trucks vice versa with no issues. I would only put OEM sensor on though because they are very picky and I have not seen an aftermarket icp that last more than few months. I would also check your pigtail at the sensor and make sure there is no chafing or damage. 03 6.0 has the sensor in the rear of the engine valley where a lot of heat is and it’s common to see those pigtails damaged. I usually keep a test icp sensor around for diagnostic. Unfortunately the 03s suck to swap compared to the newer 6.0s being on the valve cover. Do you have anyway to monitor ICP pressure? Are you having any other issues with hot starts or starting?
