0:16 That background of single sided circuitboards. So futuristic! In reality, set dressing by folks who didn't understand electronics...For folks to view on TV who likely also don't understand electronics.
The actor who portrayed Apollo in this episode, Michael Forest, reprised the role in Star Trek: Continues as an older, weak/dying Apollo. Excellent episode.
I love how Spock hands him the futuristic clipboard instead of the writers thinking ahead to a ship full of computers being able to just email those instructions/calculations.
@@Number6_ - They dont network their computers together back then for security. Makes it too easy to hijack the ship. Look how many times the Enterprise D got stolen by a few people in TNG. Data, Fefengi, and a bunch of other random aliens all stole the Enterprise D.
the hand holding the Enterprise... lol I still love TOS though.
I like Spock's words of confidence for Uhura in this scene.
Unlike other Vulcans, Spock understood how to properly motivate his non-vulcan crewmembers. He was a firm but fair leader.

Yes a lovely compliment especially from a Vulcan
You can almost sense Nimoy's relief as he plonks himself in the captains chair... "Thank fuck I managed to deliver that last line"...
Fry: "Wait a minute.This says 'Z-ray.'"
Shady backalley organ seller.: "Z is just as good. In fact, is better. Is two more than 'X.'"

One of my favorite episodes. Lt. Kyle had a pretty good role in this episode.
I like the B-Team crew of Kyle and Leslie.
There needs to be a comment, live long and prosper

Yes it was.
Mr. Kyle, your agonizer, please.
But, Mr. Spock, this isn't the mirror universe!
I know that, Mr. Kyle.

It's the modern equivalent of an Apple IPad
Exactly why they don't use it. Electronic Paper is much safer then relying on a bunch of faulty computers in a difficult situation.

Yeah, I'm sure that red skirt will tell them what you want done.
