  • Doing a review of my 1995 king quad 300. These are great old ATVs and i highly recommend them. I thought i would make a video to show all the features of them so you can compare to other models when buying. For the price range nothing beats them for power, gearing, suspension and maneuverability. If you are looking to try out ATV’N this would be the best beginner atv or one to use forever that you will only have a couple thousand dollars into rather than 8-15K for a new one. I hope this video helps. Please comment with any questions you may have and i will get back to you ASAP. Josh

    Old but strong. Good quality steel in the 90’s, I have a 1996 Timberwolf only just rebuilt it 5 years ago. Fully cast iron engine, it will last forever, I’ve always well maintained it

      There was no better steel used then vs. now and your engine is most certainly not “fully cast iron.”

    Amazing quad the only problem i had was to get a new piston because I had really low compression but other than that this was my first quad bought in early 2000's and still have today and would see this thing last for another 30+ years

    In the eyes of todays big bore machines and weekend warriors,most guys will laugh at 280 cc.I have this exact machine,colour and year.Im using it for deer hunting right now,they are pound for pound little work horses.They are heavy and very well built,and are a bit frustrating to work on because of all the shrouding and removal.As far as a bush machine for the outdoorsman,i would want no other.Add an inline fuel filter,good fuel stabilizer and maintain them,they are great.

    I've had a '95 300KQ that was in pretty rough shape but it still worked; and I just finished doing a top-end rebuild on a '92 250 QuadRunner (4x2) with less than 900KMs on it. My main bike now is a 2005 400 Eiger. The old bikes are tanks. Only thing I find is the vacuum operated fuel pumps can be finicky as they age; as well as the fuel pet-cock. The carbs can also be quite temperamental and in the squat quarters where they sit are very hard to adjust or work with especially while the engine is running. They are comfortable, dependable, fun, and light enough to get stuck and not need a rescue tow truck to get it out again.

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  5 років тому +1

      That is for sure. To solve all those issues besides the tight work space i bypassed the fuel petcock pump and blocked those vacuum lines. Works awesome now.

    • @NLINE7
      @NLINE7 3 роки тому

      I have a 2005 Suzuki Eiger 4x4 and I did the petcock mod by replacing the Eiger OEM petcock with a OEM Yamaha Raptor 660 petcock I believe 2003 year Raptor petcock. It was plug and play, hardest part was draining the gas out of the Eiger tank lol. What I really like about this mod is the OEM Yamaha Raptor petcock allows you to have complete fuel shut off. Just plug up the existing Eiger vacuum line that comes of the carb. No fuel leaks and it's been at least 3 years ago when I did this mod. Make sure it's a OEM Yamaha Raptor petcock, aftermarket ones are cheaper price, but they are prone to leaking fuel soon after the mod.

    Wish I still had my 94 KQ 300 (true displacement is 280) ! Best utility quad ever made ! I also had a 04 Yamaha Grizzly 660. It was ofcourse much faster than the KQ with much more suspension travel but as they do, the CVT sucked and could not compare to the KQ transmissions for low speed torque (even with less than half the cc's), slow and steady obstacle concerning, general utility work and a big one for me, slowly and quietly putting through the woods off trail. Even in low range Grizzly had to rev higher to engage the CVT, so no matter what it was always much louder then the KQ. Also the Grizzly had no low range in reverse which meant you may not have the torque to back out of what you drove in to. I hope to own a first generation King Quad 300 4wd again in the future.

    I have a 1992 quadrunner 300. Seems identical other than the CV joints at the back. It has 5 hole rear wheels and an oil cooler. Does anyone know the difference between this and a King Quad of the same year? Seems to me it's just badging.I use it for work purposes on a property on an island.To say it is strong is an understatement. Can't believe what I have pulled with that 270CC. Unstoppable. I think the price of these Suzukis is going to go up. If you look at how poorly built thse new high performance quads are in comparison. Some have a lot of stamped steel underpinnings. Pretty sure this quad will work for the rest of my lifetime barring some EMP attack taking out the ignition. My biggest complaint is the turning radius is very wide

      @@Schneids15 thank you - I've watched all your videos. I picked up a '95 300 but unlike yours it's in awful condition. It's been sitting in a field down the road for several years where it was hub sunk into the mud and covered with weeds to the handlebars. I inquired about it and the owner said he wanted to junk it. However, now that I was interested, he wanted to sell it. LOL. We made an agreement but only because of your videos did I think this was worth getting into and repairing. Dragging it home was an adventure. I cleaned out the hornet nests but the plastics have large fiberglass patches so I've begun the process to create molds using a lot of filler and do new fenders using canvas/denim/epoxy; micarta, poor mans plastic. I cleaned the carb and several items after going through your videos. Initially it wouldn't start and smoked. He welded a fixed plow on which was now crumpled sheet metal and that took a bit of work to reverse and get off. A lot of bolts and nuts had to be replaced but it's now running smooth and idles low. Thank you for the encouragement! My family loves it. Never had a 4 wheeler but we think this one is a peach.

      @brenoneaker11 you’ll have to hunt for a parts atv. You can buy the fender flares from suzuki still. However the actual plastics are discontinued.

      I guess I’m just blind. I still can not find the vin. Do you have a pic of where it would be located?

    Why did you put honda king quad 300cc as the heading .. but clearly show off the Suzuki quadrunner 250cc ?? Then you called it a king quad .. I hope you dident register it as a king quad honda ????

      It is titled King Quad 300...... not a quad runner by any means. Not a Honda by any means...

      More expensive then other 25 year old atv’s but still a way better purchase.
