4 or 5 x the HP 🤣. Those king quad 300s make just over 20hp that can am probably has 31 32 hp. If you put a bigger carb on a better exhaust it would even out pretty good. Suzuki and Honda really choked there engines for longevity thru the 80s and 90s. Put a bigger carb and a supertrap exhaust on my Honda 185s and no bs the bike probably picked up 3-5hp. I can imagine that 300 could do better maybe even break the 35hp mark with a better piston and a ported head. Not saying do it but it can be made to compete with newer machines. Swap a set of rfy adjustable gas shocks into it a small diy lift and you could 100% beat that canned ham.
I doubt the king quad is over 20hp. Probably more like 16-17. There isn’t a chance of getting an easy 30+ horsepower out of them. I had a 600 grizzly which I believe was rated about 32 and it was easily twice as fast as a king quad. They are excellent machines, but they aren’t a powerhouse and it isn’t easy to make them one either. I’m sure they can be pepped up a little but 2hp is a pretty good gain on an engine that small.
@@CumminsDriver Suzuki rates the 300 king quad at 21.5 - 22 hp it's in the manual and every resource I've been able to look up. My Honda 185s makes 14hp bone stock and my 200m makes 16hp. With just an supertrap exhaust and a 4mm bigger carb with a mild intake port job I guarantee my 200m is making 20hp. I know for a fact that more cc's will make make more power if it can breathe. King quad 300 is rated by EPA at 12 hp, I've seen the 20 plus ratings but I highly doubt a 276cc single with that baby carb makes 20 plus and certainly doesn't feel like it. My 2000 kodiak 400 makes 26 hp and it's a 401cc liquid cooled and has 10.5 to 1 compression so yeah the 20 plus ratings are in no way accurate.
@@jeremyodonnell5551 I'd like to know where your finding these said EPA ratings. The lowest I've been able to find was 19hp and that was directly from a UK review site compairing it and the bayou/KLF300. The 1993+ according to Suzuki made 21hp. The carb is definitely not small for that power range it's a 32mm cvk which is the same size as a most single cylinder 300-500cc sport bikes from the 90s that can make upwards of 45hp. By no means is it optimal at those power levels but they do it quite well. My Norton commando 650 runs 2, 30mm carbs and makes just under 70hp, that's almost 35hp on each little 30mm pz style carb which is far less efficient than a cvk.

My Norton commando 650 runs 2, 30mm carbs and makes just under 70hp, that's almost 35hp on each little 30mm pz style carb which is far less efficient than a cvk.
i may be buying one tomorrow for 600$$$
Awesome! Hopefully it’s in decent shape
You don't need diff lock super low, high low 4
My Napoleon if I ain't too careful going up a little gray to heal and if you give it too much gas the front incomes off the ground not even trying to do that
How much? I’ll buy it off of you
Do they sell lift kits for these? 1 or 2 inch
I've owned king quads since they were still called quad runner..and I wouldn't buy a cam am for nothing! People here ride them etc and get stuck, break down, belts slipping, the radiator on front rack on newer ones are stupid, etc. Kq are tanks!!..can't get them stuck unless sitting on skid plate! To say cams are better is a bs statement!and you don't need 4wd to do any of the stuff you show here riding! I pull cars, trucks etc out all the time!..and my 1999 kq 300 does 55mph..and here in the mountains..speed doesn't matter!!dependability and getting threw anything does!!!!
This not test of this machine, show it hauling and pulling
Yeah that’s the truth. I had to pull a tractor with my Honda 350 D and I missed that super low range on the king quad 300
The king quad will out last the can-am in day .......my own personal opinion the suzuki is built better.....and that can-am is not as fast as a 450ex lol
Id never say canam built anything better than suzuki
Looks cherry
21 gears
Espanol
It needs a gear reduction for the high range
