My fav mixing tip for making space is to EQ one sound but listen to the sound i'm trying to make space for while I'm making changes to the first sound.
Always look forward to you videos man! Appreciate everything you share
These are some incredibly valuable tips bro!! I remember you doing a video a few years ago back about also widening your hats too. I’ve done it in every beat I made since

Bro.. im def a new sub!! You really explained those tips well, only thing I'd say is maybe try to have an example to show a visual to the audience as your explaining the tips or tricks..

tysm for the sauce
I got you 😉
Thanks Bro..

What do you think/ is it okay to of putt the 808 dead center in a binuaral pan? It sounds louder this way i feel
I watched an interview with Ali and he said the same thing. Interesting that he uses RVox on the kicks and utilizes the gate to taper the tail.
Same
It’s a good one to use. I also do it a lot for my hihats as well. Little things like that go a long way
Can you explain more ? And which plug-in is it the rcomp or rbass?
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Should my kicks be in mono as well?
I’ve been using alchemy for my 808s for a while now and yesterday I downloaded a drum kit and when I went to use the 808s from it, they make that clicking noise when they hit short distance from each other. Any tips on how to remove it? I tried messing with the attack but that doesn’t work. Not sure if it’s the drumkit itself because for the past 2 years I’ve used alchemy I’ve never heard that clicking sound on my other 808s I’ve used.
I started on logic and switched to fl. So I know both programs well. Did some research for myself and I tested Reddit drumkits (lunch77) on both DAWs and for some reason they always get watered down when i inset the 808s into logic. Idk if it has to do with logics system (don’t know if logic is compressing or EQing the 808s)
I have noticed this as well
🙌🏽🙌🏽👊🏽
bro whats ur cam?
But how am i supposed to even hear my 808 ? I mix all my sounds after i make melodies ect, i cant even hear it while makign the beat
0:05 ummmm How can I get that skin on the M32? 🤷🏾♂️
holy cow when I cut the tails off 5/5 tutorial
thanks man from india
my problem is where the 808 u can hear little on a phone speaker but they are loud with headphones ts is confusing the hell outta me
Try choosing 808s when listening through your laptop speakers or go through 808s on splice with your phone to hear which 808s stand out without any processing yet. That will help you choose ones that sound good. Another tip is to turn the bass down so those little speakers don't have trouble trying to reproduce lows that they can't. 808s need a fair amount of distortion (buzz) or harmonics to be heard loudly on small speakers
Try a 3rd party eq perhaps
👏🏾👍🏾
What DB do you have your 808 to? -6? And what DB do you keep your Melody at? -12?
It’s usually falls approximately in that area. Sometimes melody a little louder depending on what type of sound it is. But usually the 808 is on top especially in hop hop and trap music minus the vocals. Melody’s and other drums built around it. Kick sometimes in line with 808 or on top depending on the kick. For my mixes I always think about levels and panning before any plugin. Simple panning of instruments really opens up a mix a lot as well
Thank you Adam, your the man , been watching your channel for years. You have basically taught me everything I know.
@@whodatbeatsproduction9777 wow thank you - that means a lot! It's always awesome to see you in the comments - I know we spoke here over the years - happy the videos are helping out and appreciate the support.
@@imamusicmogul Thank you sir, have you ever thought about doing a live beat critique show?
@@whodatbeatsproduction9777 I do have a couple of ideas for live shows and do want to start doing some live stuff - a critique show could be fun! i normally did not want to do something like that because music is so subjective, but i guess the approach could be from a technical point and ways to improve/tips
I'm here because my beats bump in the whip. But my 808s sound like shit on my phone speaker.
🖤💚💙❣💙💚🖤
man everyone who clicked on this video has just confessed to having 808s that suck
ah cmon bro no need to call us out
No one really has the secrets, they are just guessing. You can try all these tips it won't give you the 808s you hear in professional tracks coming out these days. there's a trick they are doing there the sub itself is loud and audible ... saturation doesn't do that, and boosting those sub frequencies don't do that
Bro I literally used all this methods and my 808s are still not sounding professional. I literally used sub busses to cut all bass in my melodies and kinda vice versa for the drums. Everything sounds good and loud except for that 808 part.
And yes, I sidechain my kick and 808
@@7sneves look up this video called "3 Golden Rules for Low End Hip Hop Mixing | Lu Diaz" that's the best one I've seen on how to actually get results
