Same thing happened with me just now and this is night time so i came to this video and did the same to my bunny and thankfully he is moving and eating now.
The belly massage saved my bunny yesterday (Easter Sunday...). Her stomach was full of gas, and after 2 sessions of massages, I could hear more and more bubbly sounds happening and saw her energy coming back little by little. I knew she would make it after she started getting mad at the towel and eating a few pellets and herbs on her own. Thank you for this educational series!
I just wanted to tell you that this video has been widely shared on Reddit's rabbit subreddit (/r/rabbits) and helped a lot of rabbit owners. I just gave the link to this video again, and I'm sure there is again somewhere a rabbit in pain that will appreciate this massage. Thank you so much for your hard work and love for bunnies.
Rabbits don't like be held generally period. Mine was the same way, he was from a bad situation so he was extra timid. Work on trust. I started in a play pen, I would go into the play pen, and just sit there not even acknowledging him watching youtube or something. Eventually petting then slowly trying to pick him up. If he allowed a pick up, I would hold home for 20 seconds or so and just put him back down safely and give him a small treat
@@Dia1Up not period. Just because your rabbit doesn’t trust doesn’t mean every rabbit is like that. I’ve had many rabbits and never had one that doesn’t like to be held after they trust me.
This is a very helpful video that I hope will help panic stricken new bunny parents deal with a bout of gas. Always remember that if this isn't helping, get that rabbit to a rabbit savy vet right away.
Many thanks for showing me how to save my rabbit. It took about 15 hours of applying these techniques, several minutes of massage in every hour. Then letting her rest in between. Her stomach was very hard.I could start to hear the gas gurgling after the first few goes. Her stomach started to soften. Then got her to sip a little water and eat some fresh grass building up to normal eating in that time scale. What a relief.
Not sure what's with all these weird comments (I use to watch RWJ videos but not anymore.) ... A bunny with gas is very dangerous. Since they can't pass gas as easily it will become very painful. They will eventually stop eating, drinking which in this case it will turn into an emergency and needs to be seen by a vet..... :/ So of course having this video is important for rabbit owners.
Absolutely worked for me, was on the point of calling a vet at midnight! A few minutes of this and he passed air and wriggled out of my hands and started to eat again. :)
Thank you so much for the advice! My bunny was very uncomfortable and wouldn't eat or drink at all. He was just starting to do the dreaded teeth grinding thing they do when they're in pain, so I thought of this video right away. I think it was a hairball he had, but either way, this stimulated his gut enough to get him up, and eating and drinking again. He's absolutely fine now, and I don't think he would have been if not for this tip. To all rabbit parents out there, if your bun is lethargic and not eating, try this asap, and be patient, it takes a little time, but it usually helps a lot and can save you from an expensive vet bill, as well as a bun in a lot of pain and misery. Bear in mind tho, if no improvement and your bun still has not eaten in 12 hours, consider it an emergency and head straight for a vet!
Thank you so much, my rabbit didn’t like it at first but once I basically made her sit through it she started to love it it’s like she knew it was helping her (baring in mind she doesn’t even let me stroke her head) she let me rub her belly for 30 mins and she got up like a brand new bunny, thank you so much ❤️
thank you for sharing knowledge about how to take care of rabbits!!literally saved my bunny's life twice. Vet these days is not affordable for everyone.
I've lost my almost 9 year old rabbit yesterday so I want to warn anyone here. My rabbit had this problem every now and then too, it wasn't often just like once in a couple months. The massage would maybe help a bit, I got her to drink water by putting a couple mint leaves into a bowl of water and when she drank after some time she would be okay. I thought it was just GI stasis this whole time. 2 days ago she was running around like normal, she was happy following me hoping I would give her some food just like usual and was generally happy. Then all of a sudden she would start acting wierd, thought it was starting again, yesterday morning before I went to school she seemed a bit wierd so I tried to get her to eat and drink, she drank, she ate, I thought it wasn't anything serious since she would eat and drink without hesitation. In the afternoon my mom came home before I did and she called me that she's breathing wierd that she'll take her to the vet. There she had to wait for multiple hours because the vet refused to take her seriously and people doing a normal check up would go in before her, when the vet finally went to take a look the vet said that she has a huge tumor on her stomach. My mom called me right away to get there so I can say my final goodbye. I got dressed up and as I was about to run to catch the bus my mom called me that it's too late. She had stomach cancer. I'm heartbroken I couldn't say goodbye if the vet took her in right away as an emergency case I would've had the chance to say goodbye and also would spare her from suffering and she would have me by her side as she fell asleep. I was at the vet not that long ago and they did a check up on her stomach and everything and found nothing so I thought everything was normal. That tumor didn't grow overnight, they failed to diagnose her and didn't take her in when she was dying. Choose your vet carefully and if you have your rabbit act like this, try to take your rabbit to the vet and have them do a scan or something just in case it is stomach cancer. Rabbits are pretty good at hiding pain which makes it even harder to know that it's something serious. Apparently stomach cancer is pretty rare but you never know. This wasn't in my worst nightmare. My beloved rabbit of 9 years that I spent more than half of my life with, my best friend that would never let me down and I didn't get to say goodbye. I hope that she knew that I loved her more than anything, I did what I could. I at least got to hold her, pet her and give her a couple last kisses on the head for the last couple times before we burried her. Life is going to be real boring without my furry friend. Everyone take care and spend as much time as possible with your pet before they're gone. If you asked me yesterday in the morning how long would she be with me I'd say at least 3 more years and what now. May she rest in peace.

Thank-you so much for this! I read about this technique before but seeing you demonstrate it has been really helpful. My bun is a bit older and every fruit/veggie other than banana and kale give him major digestive issues. I foolishly indulged him and offered him a piece of cantaloupe, a few hours later he became lethargic and kept stretching (I assume this was from gas pain). My rabbit had gas-problems after he stopped eating. This really helped, but we also needed the vet to help us. I was very happy that I found this video though, it gave him a lot of relief.
This Helped save my rabbit. She wouldn't eat or drink all day, for over 12 hours. I did this and she ran straight to her litterbox and let it all out, and then started eating and took a big drink. She must've had some gas blocking or something, but either way she is back so thank you
I was about to head to work tonight and my rabbit looked uncomfortable. She kept flattening her belly on the floor and then jumping up. I tried these maneuvers and she tooted! I don’t know what everyone’s deal is about massaging a rabbit’s stomach...reallyyyy not that weird. People have pets. Some people have pet rabbits. Some rabbits get digestive issues and their owners watch informative videos on their care.
He didn't want food or water since morning, he just changed positions. I was very worried, but when I realized that this was the problem, I applied what you said. thanks a lot. this worked.
same,My bunny got gi statis 1 day ago.i was scared she was eating but a little by little and was very inactive. I did this massage and later made her run. a lot she farted on me and went running on the litter box😂 now she is fine and running just like earlier!

I’m now hearing that she’s running around like normal. Thanks for posting this video; it’s saved my bunny a night of painful gas.
This bunny is so chill 😂🐰❤
I came to hear a rabbit fart. I am disappointed.

This saved my rabbit. Thank you ❤
Thank you for this video! ❤️ All elements - from the drops to the massage - were extremely useful. Noticed a difference with the massage and right from the first paediatric drop admin! ❤️🙏🏽🥰🤩🤩🤩
What do you do If your rabbit won't let you hold him?
Thx so much I just did this to my bunny and she finally pooped a little bit even this it was a little it still made me so happy
Thank you so much, the massage techniques helped my little fur ball so much!
I gave my little boy a massage. He got so relaxed! I hope it helped

awwwww the rabbit is so cute xD
extremely cute xD
Sound For Free Mindz :D
Thank you so much! I watched this on Saturday because my girl was showing early signs of stasis. She is back to normal now. The massages and the gas drops work, if you keep at it! After the first round of massage/drops, she rooted several times, and then passed several cecotropes.
Well ur rabbit is so calm
She's so serious through the whole thing though
I don’t know what everyone’s deal is about massaging a rabbit’s stomach...reallyyyy not that weird. People have pets. Some people have pet rabbits. Some rabbits get digestive issues and their owners watch informative videos on their care.
That rabbit is so cute it’s a long time i haven’t watched this video
I guess I just stepped into the UA-cam zone again.
I dont even own a rabbit or some kind of pet.
I don't really know why I'm watching this...
Now I know what Miley was trying to do all along. :)
what a cute bunny!
Thank you this actually worked my bunny is better again he wasn't eating or drinking. I followed the steps and it worked great 👍
No better way to start the new year than watching a video on how to make a rabbit fart
Bro he is so calm
2:20 is that alright?.. My bunny would go crazy if I do that.
He didn't want food or water since morning, he just changed positions. I was very worried, but when I realized that this was the problem, I applied what you said. thanks a lot. this worked.
same,My bunny got gi statis 1 day ago.i was scared she was eating but a little by little and was very inactive.
I did this massage and later made her run. a lot she farted on me and went running on the litter box😂
now she is fine and running just like earlier!
I'm here strictly out of curiosity because I never considered bunnies farting before now 🐇 her sound effects for the gas moving around is when I was convinced this video needed an immediate Like
Will be a good time to be a rabbit in the COVID pandemic under her care!
Thank you so much for this video! I am pretty sure it saved my 8 week old bunny!! I lost one before to g.i. problems. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! ❤❤❤❤
