Last women's problem had a little bit of everything
I keep wondering: Are the pyramid blocks I see in pretty much every bouldering tournament textured? Like are they covered in grip tape or some sort of sandpaper paint or something? Cause the ones where I climb are made from slippery painted wooden plates like the walls themselves.
+nerfzinet It changes a lot from volume to volume. Some have a lot of texture, almost like sandpaper, others are very slippery. And route setters play with that and even apply special paints or real sandpaper to change the texture and the friction volumes offer.
+OnBouldering Thanks for the reply! I couldn't imagine doing some of the things these climbers do on plain untextured volumes. Then again they do a lot of things I can't imagine doing.
+nerfzinet you could also check the sponsors to see which companies that make climbing holds sponsored the event, and then look up the volumes you're asking about on their site...that'll tell you their makeup and texture :)

Actually it wasn't in Toronto. It was in Hamilton (Gravity Climbing Gym). But for some reason the IFSC called it Toronto Bouldering World Cup.
nice.. i'am at college just below Ottawa we have a small bouldering wall here on campus but, i'll have to check it out one day soon when i can afford the trip lol.. Im sure it's worth every penny.. good video man
