How to Adjust Your Wrist, Hand, & Fingers and Become Pain Free - Dr Mandell, DC

  • Опубліковано 5 чер 2018
  • The joints of our wrist, hand and fingers are constantly overused, causing many conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, ganglionic cysts, tenosynovitis, nerve compression, tendinitis, along with weakness and pain. When joints lose motion, they lose function and that's when inflammation and dysfunction arises. By putting motion back into the joint, repair and healing will be accelerated.

You are freaking awesome. I stumbled on your channel several months ago and never had a chance to go through your videos until today. About one month ago I put my weight on my left hand to push myself up off the floor and heard a pop in the bones between middle and ring finger on the back of my palm. It has been bothering me since, but not enough to be too concerned. I just did your technique and it freaking worked. The annoying discomfort is no more. I have some nerve damage on the tip of my left index finger from years ago. If I so much as flick the tip, it sends numbing pain down my hand. I'm going to continue your technique on my finger, hope it works.

I want to say thank you thank you thank you thank you. I’ve been driving an 18 wheeler 10 hours a day for four months and for the last two weeks my wrists and thumbs have hurt very much. I would get sharp shooting pain‘s from my thumb through the carpal tunnel down my forearm. I have not been able to find any relief until I watched your video last night. This worked like a charm doc. Freed up a binding finger and significantly reduced movement related pain around the Ulna too. I was advised to stretch wrist for the ulna pain but that seemed to make it worse. But a few press and forward flicks of the wrist and it's so much better now.

  • @Dareana01

Wow, it really worked. My two middle fingers have been stiff and tender to the touch. I also have a knot on my right palm which I think may be the beginning of Dupuytren's contracture. Pushing my middle finger backward instead of toward the palm showed some loss of range of motion and soreness. After doing these exercises, I'm able to bend the finger back without pain. Glad I found this video... saving it for future use.

I work in the entertainment business as a set lighting technician. I mainly rig stages and location prior or day of shoots. We do repeated movements. We lift heavy equipment all day. We stretch our bodies to limits. Aside from physical labor. Our bodies endure long hours of hard work and not enough sleep. I stumbled on your account and my hands have been aching. I use biofreeze as a helpful exterior relief. In the short minutes to watch your video. I found quick relief in my left hand. Thank you! I look forward to keeping up with this exercise and have more pain relief.

This actually helped a lot! I'm a digital/freelance artist and tend to get wrist pain whenever I spend long periods of time painting, especially if I'm painting furry creatures. Been working on a fox painting and woke up this morning in a lot of pain. It was so bad, I started researching ways to ease the pain and found your video. After a minute or so of adjusting my wrist using your instructions, the pain has decreased significantly! Thank you SO MUCH for making this video. I'll definitely use the exercises in the future!

I used to do that -onesie at a time. For those who are impatient, I do them all at once. Just interlace your fingers and start making figure 8's using wrists, elbows, shoulders, and notice that the joints all massage each other. I stick my thumb and fingers where Dr Mandell shows and massage them all until they all tingle! Just do what young kids do. Add wiggles, squiggles. jiggles and giggles and squirm all parts of the body. BTW, stick your fingers in between the toes or if you can, toes inbetween the toes and work them out the same way. I keep telling my clients to watch youth. If you want to stay young you have to act like young things do, not like geriatrics.
Try this challenge. Interlace fingers. Which thumb is on top? Usually the dominant hand. Now interlace again with the other thumb on top. Now repeat above. Feels weird, like brushing teeth, or hair, using chopsticks with other hand, and putting the left leg into pants first, or getting up on another side of the bed. or saying the alphabet backwards. Yeah

As a guitarist, I never realized how tight my hands and forearms were, and it really affected my playing. I was wondering why I could never get good control of the fretboard/neck. Once I realized that my muscles were crazy tight I was able to release them using these methods and man, my playing immediately improved. Hands and wrists are muscles that are never taken into consideration. My feel and control on the guitar damn near changed over night. I always tell guitarists to focus on the muscles in the hands and wrist and forearms. Get them loose and strong.

Thank you. I’m not sure how I misaligned inner side of my R wrist joint (scaffold & lounig (sp?)) likely from nearly dropping a somewhat heavy or large cumbersome item, but your instruction of using thumb to push on those bones & bending at same time mostly freed up the restriction. It took a few times, but it finally started clicking/moving vs the usual gas-releasing rotational pops I usually get in my wrists. After doing the thumb pressure & flexion for a few minutes, most of the pain & restriction was relieved, and feels better after 6 hours of sleep. Without your video, I don’t know how I would’ve made it to Monday without restriction and pain (trying to get rest of Christmas lights put out) when I’d get to my chiropractor who would adjust it

Hello doctor.. I appreciate all of your videos and information.. I haven’t been able to find anything on the adductor pollicis being tight. I also have tendonitis in my hand. All of this is from overuse. I’m a tattoo artist , and draw and paint.

    Thanks Doc,
By now watching your new release (in case it's a practice) became a helpful surprise part of my morning routine.
(Now, that escalated quickly, as I've found your channel only a few days ago...)

Awesome thank you so much. I did feel a difference. I have been dealing with tendonitis on the left hand...a bit on the right. Doing everything to get it better. Thank you for this.

I'm trying to do the metacarpal stretch and my inner 2 fingers don't move as free as yours. Am i doing it wrong or are my hands just that tense

Thanks, it reduced the pain in wrist to a very great extent, have about 5-10% pain. Probably even that would go afterwards. Thanks alot.
