Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence each year.
As the video notes, girls who witness abuse are more likely to be abused later in life, and boys are twice as likely to abuse their own partners -- "because that's the world they know."

I've witnessed domestic violence (mostly emotional abuse) for just a little over a decade of my life. I remember trying to make my life seem so normal for my friends. It was almost as if I lived a double life. Outside, our family looked so cookie cutter, but no one knew about those dark moments. Three years ago, I worked up the courage to call the police on my step-father. And although nothing happened, I vowed not to stay silent anymore. I'm studying social work now and have plans to bring this issue into light.

My daughter was 29 and was shot to death by her husband in front of her 5 children. I have custody of my sweet grandchildren, but the visual is still very raw and fresh in our/their minds. He still sits in the detention center waiting sentencing. These children range from 11 being the oldest to 3 years of age. Sickens me to know end how he has destroyed my sweet g babies and took my only child away from me. Yes, this is a scary thing to even imagine that these sweet babies have to live with this horror that most people will never see in a lifetime.

I grew up watching my dad going after my mom. I was abusive towards our cats as a child. I often wonder if that is why. I no longer am though

It may have been a short video but i couldnt help but cry..i think every school should show this to kids in health class..it was definatly spot on..my dad was that way. We just got away from him now that I've lived with it around me for 15 years, he always said he was sorry and my mom fell for it...well not anymore. Im the happiest I've ever been now that that monsters gone
