I'm down 150lbs with VSG. I talk to men about it and encourage them to explore it. Many men think hitting the gym will work but this doesnt help those of us who are already obese. My respect goes out to this guy and his team. Awesome!
Hey man did you gain your wait after getting out of the marine corps? I wanted to get a gastric sleeve but found out it disqualifies you from the military
I'm going for it in a few days. Being 400 lbs. is a chore. I got tired and I called Penn up to set up my procedure. Stuff like this inspires me to keep pushing forward with my decision.
Maybe you can help me out with this question. I am 5-7 and 285 pounds do I meet the requirements of lap-band surgery also I have high blood pressure And borderline diabetic
Happy 1 year anniversary on your rock wall climb Shawn. 🙂 And happy 2 year anniversary on your surgery. Keep on winning, smiling, and grabbing life by the horns. You got this. I believe in you... always.
Good video! I’m set to get my surgery this fall. I’m 6 foot 8 and about 420 pounds. It’s been hard to lose weight while having sleep apnea and also not being very motivated. I’m hoping this surgery can change my life. It will be hard to make the lifestyle change but I’m very hopeful
Im 365 and have my sleeve in a little over a week on March 3, 2020. This story is great motivation and I hope your success continues and that I can reach same results👍👍
I’m exactly that weight now and really need to change. I’m 42 years old. Diets only worked for a while and working out is hard on my knees and back. I was on keto and lost 72lbs but could not maintain that lifestyle. I started feeling sick. Intermittent fasting was working until I started becoming hypoglycemic. I have no clue what to do. Surgery is an option but I’m worried/scared and really need to know what goes into it. I wanna live another 45 years. Don’t care for looks, care more about not feeling pain, anxiety, sluggish and sick.
I am currently 420lbs and ive been down to 350 with diet and keto. But it always came back. I am now going down the road of bariatric surgery. I hope my story is like this.
Hey buddy, I decided to swallow the pill and get the Bariatrics surgery. I have a date setup in the fall but I am freaked out. Did you have these feelings and how did you overcome them?
No, it's EXTREMELY important that your body has enough protein to compensate for the lack of food intake youll have after gastric bypass. You may be eligible for the lap band though, since its adjustable. Hope all goes well on your journey! ☺
how much weight did shawn lose and how long did it take him to lose all that weight I was 320lbs now I'm 225 and a year my goal is 185lbs trying to get rid of the cpap machine
👋🏾 hey ya'll my doctor recommended this surgery. Based on hypertension and borderline diabetic and BMI of 39.7. Im currently 6'2 309lbs And not sure if I should go through with it. Looking for any advice
Hello all! I was curious if anyone might be similar to my size and have gone though this? I'm 39 6'5 355 and I spoke with my Dr yesterday and she said I should look into this due to my current state of health (high BP, borderline diabetes) as well as my genetics. I guess I'm just curious as to what to expect health wise as well as appearance. Thank you for any help everyone! God bless!
What is the goal of this surgery? To eat less. Can you eat less even without surgery? Yes. There are several ways to trick your mind to eat less. Eating low GI food, high fibre and whole grain makes you feel full longer. Drinking plain water instead of sugary drinks avoids you from thirst. Eating less spicy food avoids you from craving for sweets. So folks, think hard before doing this surgery. It involves making *permanent* changes to your body. You'll run the risk of being malnutrition. I'd rather have a mental surgery instead of a physical one.
I used to be a balletdancer, living on one meal a day. After a few years I started eating normal and became, just like my family, morbidly obese. I teach 20 danceclasses a week and go to the gym. Trainers don’t know what to do with me. It’s not just about diet and working out.
If it were genes coming for you the surgery wouldn’t make a difference. Calories in calories out. I am happy you look great and feel well but it’s a dangerous ideology to promote that this is an option people always need instead of managing their eating. You’re a great guy but to say it’s genes is diminished responsibility for overeating
It's always ONE negative person in the comments!! Sometimes it is genes. I know plenty of obese and overweight people who barely eat. It doesn't always mean they shove food in their mouths. There's nothing wrong with getting this. As you can see, he maintained his weight by healthy eating and exercise. Btw, some people don't just lose weight regardless of (calories in calories out) I hate when people like you make it seem so simple. Be happy for him and move on

@@mrbeefy9947 don't go for lap band. Never go for it. Either go for sleeve survey or lose weight manually.

Not meaning to disrespect the accomplishment of the Wright loss, but these people don't look "healthy". The looked nutrient deprived and older.
Married the dietian way to go to keep it off
His face skin is so loose and scary.
He lost a lot of weight in his face because there is a lot of loose skin
Sheesh they have surgery for everything. I truly believe Shawn could have lost weight by dieting and working out

When Oxford studies say losing weight long term is nearly impossible I believe them. You arebt paying off a credit card you are fighting evolution.
