As an aroace person, I've faced a lot of bullying and taunting. from my relatives to my neighbours. It's hard, very hard. I get told that "I am not real" or "I am delusional and I must have sex with my future husband." It's annoying and I'm tired living in religious extremist people.
As someone who is aroace, the issue isn't that other sexualities are different, because every sexuality is different. Its because many don't accept not feeling sexual or romantic attraction as lgbtq There's also a lot of aro/ace people many if us just don't make it our entire personality or aren't open about it

It’s daft. I’d say most of them are people who have been rejected or are so terrified of sex and intimacy the brain creates a coping mechanism. Like a form of depersonalization. A way to distance themselves from the pain. The rest are legit cases of hormone issues or mental illness. I speak from personal experience. After my divorce I was so shattered that after I “healed” I was pretty much an Aro. Not an ace tho. Still had sex but literally felt no emotion towards them. Total indifference. Now I see that it was a way to heal. Obviously this is situational and anecdotal but from the people I know it seems to fit. They definitely feel this way tho. It’s real to them.

That must be a chemical imbalance due to something such as depression. I’m no doctor, but I know for a fact that depression can be one of the reasons why someone may lack feelings of love or attraction towards someone.
