- [4K] Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride is a $21 per person boat dark ride in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. What do you guys think of this tourist trap attraction? Is it worth it? Will you guys go on it?
Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, Tennessee are home to many attractions you can do when you visit these 2 cities.
There's also another dark ride about 9 miles down the road in Gatlinburg called "Earthquake the Ride" which is a very fun ride. What do you guys think? Is it better than Jurassic Jungle Boat ride?
• EARTHQUAKE Dark Ride -...
Video filmed August 2023.
So do you guys think this Earthquake Dark ride down the road is worth $17? Better than this $21 Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride? ua-cam.com/video/5PMDbBHR7UE/v-deo.html
Thanks
My favorite part is the glowing exit signs.
it's good you like them. they're on every dark ride
So gay. And you can see doors and the roof rafters and various other building structures. Not very well thought out
@@quevicular what's gay about it aside from the disco lights?
@@quevicular welcome to 2023. If something is "so gay" you need to show your work to the gays.... /waves
Thank you
The air compressors, exit signs and lack of musical score really complete the illusion. I felt like I was back in the Jurassic era.
I met one of the workers there on a whim and I asked about the poor quality and he explained it use to be MUCH worse than what u see here and they have tried to improve on it and make it better but that’s up to debate on if they have but in my opinion ion the lighting is literal light years away from what it was before
You can tell they did a great bit of polishing during the covid closure, because the difference between the videos now and the videos from a few years ago are night and day.
I think some of the cheesiness and the lower quality animatronics gives some of these old roadside dark rides their charm.
$21 ? Yes, that‘s ok ! Will you get the money before or after the Ride ?
😂
Lol 😂😂 Seriously!
HAHAHA omg thats actually funny
Having been on the JP ride at Universal Hollywood, it is clear that they drew inspiration from that with the brachiosaurus at the beginning, the baby stegosaurus on the rock, and the T-Rex at the end. There were likely even more allusions, but I was kind of checking in and out, not really paying attention closely enough to see the others. This absolutely feels like the ride version of a mock buster where they obviously take the concept or similar name of a popular film and then try to capitalize on that.
Years ago, when it first opened it was amazing. Full of fog and atmosphere and each scene you stopped at had a voice over. The whole plot was you were sent back in time by a mysterious vortex in the jungle (The light and fog at the beginning). At the end, the boat lifted up and the head of a giant snake poked out of the wall and blew air in your face. There was a short roll back and a splash and then the boat exited through the doors. It seemed to be more based off of "Land of the Lost". One of the characters from the original story line is still there. A young boy being carried off by a tetradactyl.
worth 21 dollars? As a dinosaur nerd and lover of retro looking dinosaurs I would say HECK YEAH! This looks like fun and a nice experience. Its very cheap looking but that's part of the fun.
I like how the background scenery gets cheesier and cheesier as the ride progresses, as if they gradually ran out of money building it. And it's weird how the boat keeps stopping. I guess otherwise it would cost about $7 a minute to ride it.
Park Owner: "Is that a compressed air bottle in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
Designer: "WUUuuuu?"
Park Owner: "Just crank up the grunt noises, they'll never notice... right?"
As someone who loves dilapidated animatronics, this was an awesome ride for me. One of the t-rexes has a jaw that's completely broken and frayed. It looks so freaking scary! If you look closely, one of the brachiosaurs has exposed wiring wrapping down its legs. However, if you are actually looking for a fun family activity, this is way too expensive. Just go buy tickets to Dollywood if you're in the area and enjoy their rides instead.
Nope. I think I saw this tourist trap in Pigeon Forge. Glad we avoided it.
No music, no story, no way
I guess this is the one. It says Pigeon Forge..😏
I think it has potential. The animatronics are actually pretty good. The lighting, audio, story (or lack thereof), and immersion could use much love. I won't pick it apart too much because I can see plenty of effort went into it. That said, I would pass this up.
There is a niche animatronics community online that thinks this ride is borderline legendary. I can't wait to see it myself.
We go to this area every few years and have always been curious about this ride. Thanks for the look
If they improved the experience and the animatronics then yeah it could be a $21 ride. I wouldn't pay anything less than $5 for it right now.
we don’t recommend doing this at all because it’s horrible it’s been like that since 2010
my favorite knock off ride when everything is working correctly
3:30 There's a three phase motor in the foreground. Huh, a yellow extension cord too.
This great videography makes it look MUCH better than it is. In real life, most everything is broken and awkwardly placed. Even worse, you can see back rooms with work lights and ladders. The boat is very uncomfortable and shifty. Such wasted potential. Go the the Islands and ride SkyFly.
it's very atmospheric. the kids would love it
The jank somehow makes it so much more terrifying.
very interesting and so amazing 👍👍
The atmosphere and immersion of the ride looks good. But I didn't see anything different or special, or one thing that stands out to make it better than similar dark rides of this nature.
That Ride is so Beautiful!!!!
I have driven past this for years and I'm glad I kept driving.
Great fun 👍❤
Not worth the price tag.
When I get back to Pigeon Forge, this is on my must do list.
Glad you visited East Tennessee!
대박 놀이동산 😊❤
i'm glad they seem to be maintaining the ride as much as they can but this place still looks like an honest to god nightmare to me. everything is huge, loud, and in the dark, that's three things that freak me out the most lol
i appreciate this ride on a technical level, considering it's an independent thing it's really impressive and i don't want to sound like i'm saying it's outright bad-- it just looks terrifying to me personally
The exit signs really added effect. I'm in
Behold the ravages of age.
It's worth paying one time for the experience but it's not worth coming back or rereding. The animatronics all suffer from arthritis.
"I wanna go on Jurassic Park River Adventure!"
"We have Jurassic Park River Adventure at home"
Jurassic Park River Adventure at home:
Every so often I see a new video on this ride and every time that one dinosaur is stuck underwater and it's truly the scariest part of the ride
What part is that at?
@@pandamatronic567 @ around 4:24 there's a triceratops lit by the spotlight on the right side before going through the cave, but if you notice in front of it the path the boat takes looks like it could diverge off to the right and in that space is an animatronic dino that's supposed to rise out of the water. In some different videos you can see people looking over the edge of the boat and the dino animatronic is stuck there just barely under the surface. Presumably the mechanisms don't work anymore and it's not worth repairing (or removing).
Ya know, I support the whole idea and people wanting to do this type of thing. So despite the quality not being the best, sure, to support the dino cause.
Nice. Now you've got to hit the trifecta and check out the SkyVenture attraction at The Island in Gatlinburg.
A lot of people are criticising, but what they don’t realise is just how much effort and money has gone into this. I often think that people are massively spoiled when it comes to the likes of Universal and Disney. Very few people have billions of dollars to fall back on (and then write off failures as tax exemptions).
Could it be better? Yes of course. But they can keep adding and improving, so long as people keep turning up. I would be very proud if I had managed to create this, and I would love to experience it one day.
Considering the size of the team and the budget, I think it’s rad. The world needs more dinosaur dark rides. And this is a water ride too. Remember the difficulties involved with that.
Keep going guys. You rock.
Also, if this is a kid’s first experience of a dark ride, it will leave a lifelong impression. I love it.
When looking at old videos vs. just recent, I can tell that some animatronics don't work anymore, and they continue to be neglected. If they're going to charge any kind of money, the least they can do is fix them up!
If I paid nearly $100 for that as a family of four….😢
Absolutely Amazing & EMERSIVE 🤔🤨😒
I think the best part is the end
That depends. Is $21 how much they spent on this ride?
per person
Wow ❤👍
Certainly worth $21 if after you get off the ride they hand you $20 back
I think it is worth ❤
If they added a soundtrack of background music, it would heighten the feel of the ride. The growling and roaring gets to be a little annoying. It's too much of the same thing. And the loud sounds of the hydraulics need to be muffled somehow. Hearing that hissing sound makes it feel cheap even though it's obvious they put a lot of effort into creating this ride. It's actually kind of long, so they have plenty of opportunities to switch up the scenery slightly to make it more interesting. As it stands, $21 is not justifiable. For a small family, I think they would be disappointed. Kids would love it, but whoever paid would feel cheated. But if they tweaked it here and there, it would probably be worth it.
What camera are you using? It's amazing
Did they get rid of the T-Rex head in the end? I noticed that the hole where the head usually comes out looked walled off.
3:17 - Why I laugh out loud?? 😆 but I'd pay $21 just to keep it running/mechanical upkeep. This is worth it.
Nothing beats the Jurassic Park/World Rides from Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood
I would get rid of the ‘Now Open!’ sign, and I would definitely paint those boats a more jungley colour. The frequent stops are a but of a problem, slowing down and stopping the ride way too much. But otherwise a great foundation to build on. Brilliant.
I would 100% pay twenty-one dollars to go on that ride full of broken down animatronics
It costs $21 now??? I rode it around 2018 and it was $9.95...and even then I thought it was mega-cheesy and overpriced! The Earthquake ride in Gatlinburg is the best "knock off" ride of all with the "surprise special guest!" LOL
Looks like about 1/2 (or more) of the "creatures" do not move anymore.
They don’t. They don’t take care of it
The animatronics and storytelling were the only issues but the set design looks amazing tbh, but nah I’m not paying nothing over $5 to get on this ride lol. Could’ve at least added a drop or something
Kids: let’s go to universal studios to go to Jurassic Park ride the velocicoaster…
Mom: I got something better kids for $21
Cool, but some poorly placed exit signs.
Should've spent the $20 on a lottery ticket.
It was not bad. Compared to five years ago, they cut non dinosaur animatronics and replaced with new one.
I am curious….does it smell in there? Do they change the water too? 😅
I wish to god they would completely gut this thing and rebuild it from the ground up.
If they did it would have good potential.
Amazing boat dark ride
awesome new ride. rode it twice
Worth 10
If it came with free nachos and beer afterwards then yeah I'd buy that for $21.
Cheezy 😂😂
I've seen that in Tennessee a long time ago
Not at all worth $21. With all the advancements in technology and special effects, you'd think rides like this could be a little more realistic. Seeing an "Exit" sign behind one of the dinos kind of takes you out of it pretty quick.
my mom & i rode this when i was a kid and we got stuck at the end where they tilt you backwards 💀
I went down and rode this when I was 4 all I remember is being scared shitless
Tennessee doesn't have a Universal Studios, so they can't license Jurassic Park, so we gotta settle for this instead.
$21 per person?! Dang
This ride gave my brother nightmares
looks like they refurbished it!
I can only imagine sometime in the future in 2020's they will update this even more greater with the animatronics and special effects, who knows they will add in screens in the back ground.
Looks like several of the animatronics weren’t working
Compressed Air: The Ride.
this is beyond scary lol and where are the drops?
Yeah I think I would rather go across the street to learn about alcatraz
I'll pay $7 if they give me lunch at the end of the ride.
Dose it smell like Disney?
It needs a big update and overhaul
If it was built as zombie dinosaur dark ride.
$21? Nope!
No more then $10 it would be packed with people but $21 is a bit to high if i was them i would rather sell 1000 $10 tickets then 200 $21 tickets
Look like a cool ride especially for kids who love dinosaurs as for $21.00 for teh ride...nope it's more like a $10.00 ride
They only pay $21 to ride it? Doesn’t seem like enough.
no i wouldnt, not enough interaction with the boat; as if the dino's would just stand there when a boat would pass by ;) A head turn, leaning forward or something like that would have been nice
it is a train ride with some water
They've improved the lighting. Too bad the rest is still terrible & terrifying.
Pretty cool ride, but at his point in my life $21? Gotta take a pass. Family of 4? Fuggit about it.
이렇게 경험 하다니..감사합니댜!
for 21$ its a scam
Definitely better than those cheap “dark rides” at beach boardwalks and carnivals that basically takes place inside a garage filled with Halloween cardboard cutouts you can actually buy during the Halloween season at various stores. Anyone know what I’m talking about?
Aren't animatronics supposed to be 'animated'? I've seriously seen more character movement in local haunted houses than what is on this ride.
This looks like a 'proof of concept' walkthrough vs. a fully operational attraction that pays guests $21 to waste 6 minutes of their lives in order to give feedback so it can be worked on for another year before opening to the public.
Why are theme parks failing? Consider this video exhibit A.
Knowing this costs $21 PER PERSON makes it just very painful to watch.
🤷They Spared no expense...Went straight to the nearest 3rd rate Dinosaur traveling Exhibit and leased-out it's Dino's to create this 😣stunning 😖 ride.
Blaaa blaaaa….
Is a meal for a family of 4 included? If so then you might get your money’s worth for the time you spent on the ride. 😅 There is no story or logic of how they are presented. Most are biologically inaccurate, as well as from different epochs.
