I’m actually surprised the ABC actually aired this and did the the investigative reporting and interviewed people that are actually affected by this. I immigrated to this country 20 years ago LEGALLY and this is a slap in my face that I had to go through so much to get here, only to see people being let in freely. Peoples voices are being silenced about this.

My mom is from thr caribbean, she went a month ago to the American embassy to get a vistiors visa to enter America. My mom gets a monthly pension, she owns her home, car, has a sizeable savings. I am her daughter. I work for the government of the United states. I wrote to the American embassy saying she is under my care while here for 3 weeks. We had plans to visit California for an upcoming graduation. I sent supporting documents showing my sizebale savings, that i own my own home, car and that i work for thr government. My mom was denied entry into the US. They said she has no ties to her homeland. Yet you have ppl spilling over the border. How os this fair to the ones doing it the right way. The white lady who interviewed my mom acted like a pig. She didnt want to see my supporting documents nor my mom's...how is this fair? My mom is a widow....my mom doesnt want to live in America, she aants to visit her daughter, shop, have fun at Disney....this is so unfair

This is the legal process, to show up and ask for asylum. When you request asylum the process begins here
I have a friend that can't even get an apartment because he only gets 500 a week. He works for the city and there is no room in the homeless shelter.

I was thinking the same thing and I'm in NJ. That it's not safe anymore. I canceled a ticket to be part of a Bible teaching in NYC. I called the venue to ask about parking and if migrant hotels are nearby. He said "they don't advertise its a migrant hotel" I said no way to go to NY. This would have been my first time going to NYC since covid. I'm looking at people differently now and wondering if they are migrants. They are trying hard to "blend" in. Division of motor vehicles is being bombarded with migrants. NJ is democratic and sanctuary state. I gotta get out of here!

The same thing is happening to every tiny town and village in Ireland. Even in the middle of nowhere, migrants are bussed in to rural community centres, local hotels and bnbs. It's like spot the Irish person in most of our towns.
Except in our case it's not Venezuelans (though I'm seeing an increasing number of Central Americans), it's Afghans, Georgians, Albanians, Somalians, Cameroon, etc. Majority are young men. Most Irish people are against this but we have no border as we're part of the EU. We had to pay the EU 1.5 million EUR last week due to failing to house 350 migrant MEN.

Same here in the US. Young working adults are priced out of the housing market. They delay starting a family while third-world era are crossing over with 8 kids in tow. We are looking at decades and decades of welfare use, Section 8 housing, WIC, food stamps. Most of them are illiterate in their own language, no English skills, no job skills. Contrary to popular racist belief, we do have enough space for everyone. In our cities, downtowns have so many spacious good quality buildings completely empty. It can all be refurbished for new tenants. We have lots of long wide sidewalks for tents, blankets, and porta potties, all prime real estate. We also have lots of beaches for camping if they need a more relaxed therapeutic environment.

We, the people of living in America, are barely surviving, so if we have more and more people enter the state illegally, then how are we going to face this terrible economy from now on and on. There are hundreds of homeless people in America who can't afford to live in a house because due to the economic today so if the government decides to do something they better figure out the pros and cons.
The lady that said she had no time to wait for an appointment and put her 3 daughters in the river, how is she planning to get by in the USA?
Does she have some sort of plan? Who is going to take care of her baby while she works? Did she even do her research on how much rents are? What are the requirements to work? What skills does she have? Does she know the cost of daycare?

I live in Mexico, I know things are tough economically, they are tough everywhere in the world, But you CAN still make a living here.

We give billions of American Tax Payer dollars to countries like Jordan and Ukraine to help them enforce and secure their borders. And military and industrial support, equipment and aid relief money for them to make life better for their citizens. Yet our policy makers and enforcers do as little as they possibly can for the tens of millions of Americans who are struggling within our own borders. Their urgency and focus is all EXTERNAL. Something is very wrong here. And has to be changed whether the elites like it or not.
I have a relative that works for a homeless shelter. Most of the people that live there are migrants from Haiti who entered the US illegally from the southern border. We the US tax payer provide them with everything like housing, food stamps, transportation, spending money, translation services, medical care, help filling out forms, dental, utilities and so much more. The state was going to give one Haitian guy an apartment that would be all paid for 1 year as well as all other homeless benefits if he and his family would move out of the shelter. He then asks my relative “what’s going to happen after a year”? When he was told he’d need to work and support himself he decided to stay at the shelter. The entitlement is incredible!

Do you even understand immigration laws? Title 42 allows migrants to keep sneaking into the US without penalty. Once it’s lifted(by a judge, not Biden), there is a 5 year penalty for sneaking into the US. btw: over 1000 people snuck across the border everyday in 2019. This is nothing new

My cousin and her two kids are awaiting housing and are on the list, and she's afraid these migrants are gonna take up all the housing and she won't have a place to lay her head with her twins, and she is an American citizen like me, and I'll be pissed if she doesn't get housing because of the migrants taking all the low income resources. They're staying with my brother for the time being, but my brother can't keep them there forever, he has a family of his own to support and barely has enough room to house them, but is making it work for now. They all live in Nevada and she has 1200 people ahead of her on the housing list. God save us all.... :(
