Hi and thanks for your excitement and for making this awesome video! I'm Zach from SquadCast/Descript and i wanted to share that part of our announcement was that 4K video recording is shipping very very soon in SquadCast.
Amaaaazing. We will be eager to try it out when it’s live. I mentioned in the video that I know you’re still in the initial “beta” mode, so no doubt I’ll do an updated UA-cam video when the 4K capabilities come in. I’ll be most interested in the bit rate we can achieve. 👍🏻 As a huge fan of Descript, I’m keen to see what happens next!
To my knowledge, live streaming isn't supported via Squadcast in Descript at this stage. It wouldn't be what I would recommend you use for live streaming. Judging by the good quality of the videos you have on your UA-cam channel, Squadcast in Descript doesn't support a high enough resolution to make it useful for you in that format yet. They're working on it though!
Hello Bamby Media, For your video quality problem, I saw a "Reredering button", Maybe a solution? In the Dashboard, on the right : "Recent Primary Recordings" In the list below, clic on My Show - Instant session. Now you see "Take 1", open it with the arrow on the right. Clic on your participant name and then clic on the 3 dots menu on the right. There, the last option is : "Retry Rendering" PS : Can you telle me if it works for you if you test it? Thank you :-)
I saw it was possible to update the quality! I tried in the Studio - Settings (bottom left of the screen) -Dolby voice conference The recording was still in720p video and 128 kbit/s audio I asked the support (it seems so impossible to have a bad local video quality).
Hey Serge! I tried the re-render for my side of the session (the higher quality one that I'm having issues with), and when I downloaded it again - it was somehow worse. Haha! This test didn't work for me unfortunately!
Yes! The quality can definitely be upgraded using Dolby Voice Conference, which is great. I like that you can get to 1080p, but it does seem that for a higher quality video setup like mine, Squadcast really crunches the bitrate - like it can't handle all the pixels. For a comparison, have a look at the latest video I posted for my review of Riverside.fm. I found that that software can handle the 4K setup a lot better. It looks a lot clearer and more professional. ua-cam.com/video/EtosPz93pcc/v-deo.htmlsi=k1k2qKzWhbIewdHg
Just an editing snafoo, but Brianna your audio was only coming in on the left and not the right in Stereo during the Squadcast test recording. Not sure if that's by nature of the recording mode in Squadcast but I'm sure adjusting the video from Stereo to Mono in Descript would fix it. 👍
Hey! Thanks for letting me know. I'm actually completely deaf in my right ear - so there is no way I would have picked that up myself. I'll get someone else from our team to give that a listen. Hehe!
@@bambymedia Ah, I see! I know a fellow podcaster who is deaf in the left ear and I'll often let him know the same for the video versions of his podcast - I must be trained to listen for it now! 😅
Hahaha - anyone in my physical life also gets trained to never walk on the right side of me if they want me to listen to them. Apparently they then feel weird walking on that side of anyone even if they're not deaf. 🤣@@matthewblisspod

Though, can you live stream using squadcast, or only record? Thanks!

@@bambymedia I finnaly found that 720p was a restriction of the free account. I rented it and it is of course better.
Have a nice day.
