Thank you for using my affiliate link and supporting my work.
This is a great breakdown of Riverside! Thanks so much for sharing this! I especially find recording resolution stuff to be really confusing. Good to see how much better Riverside does!
The quality of my Zoom recordings has decreased so much in the past year. I'm finally ready to make the jump over to Riverside. Thank you for answering some of my questions in this video.
One thing I struggled with at first was the quality of the call while uploading the files. A great tip is that you can pause the uploads if your wifi connection is weak, and upload them afterwards. I did not know this at the time, and due to poor wifi, there was a two second time delay on my communication. I hope this tip helps someone!
What a fab and thorough review... Thank so much.. We were stuck in ZOOM and not happy.. A move to Riverside it is... 💛
Great walkthrough, thank you very much! :)
Thanks brother, this was very informative and useful information
I'm using the link to purchase Riverside. Great video.
Super helpful thank you!
How does this compare to Zencastr? I've looked into both. The biggest challenge with Riverside is that 5 hour cap on the Standard plan. Zencastr has unlimited recording.
Great video thanks! Super useful!
Really Interesting. I'd like to see the fininished example 'remote interview with Ryan' that's referred to at the end. But the link seems to be to another video now.
Thanks for doing this. Zoom just sent me a notice saying they’re increasing their price to $22 cad. Riverside is not only cheaper but it has better quality. I was pulling my hair out wondering why our recording looked like old vcr tapes. Turns out I’m not even hitting 1080 with zoom? Unreal. Again, thank you! Signing up right now with ur link bro!
Zoom and riverside have very different purposes though.
@@chickenmuffin yes they do. I was hoping riverside would be the answer, but
unfortunately my experience with was sub par at best. We ran a bunch of tests and couldn’t achieve any better than zoom quality
@@tbaymufon6448 The issue is the camera quality though, if the webcam is no good, you'll get poor results regardless... If they have a 1080 or 4k camera you'll get better results with Riverside... From what i can gather anyway running tests.
@@hamstergraphics Im happy you commented on this. I actually take what I said back. We did our initial testing between just my cohost and myself with riverside. The video quality looked good. Then we did a recording with a 3rd person and all our video quality seemed to suffer. Then I remembered in the zoom settings there's an option you need to select for HD quality. I selected that and the video quality improved with our zoom recordings, Compared to riverside. So for the time being, im sticking it out with zoom
@@tbaymufon6448 Yeah, "HD" on Zoom will give you a 1080x720 output, that's what I do now. My issue is if audio or video stutters during the recording, there's nothing you can do, other than tell them to repeat that section again, with riverside it seems like that won't be an issues. Haven't used it with a client yet but will give it a shot. Riverside will also give you a 1920x1080 or 4k output, if guest has that good a camera.
Thanks really much!!! One question, how you Connect your Iphone, so that you can use it as Camera?
Here’s what I want to know: The Riverside Standard plan includes 1080p at 24 fps video, so what are the best camera settings to match this while recording on iPhone? It can't do 1080p at 24k fps. Is it okay to set it to 4k at 24fps? Or is 1080p at 30 fps a better bet?
how did you mount or position your iphone
Great breakdown, but I don't see how Riverside is worth paying 2x of Zoom. My biggest issue is that of my guests Video/Audio, because I can just record my own locally. If Riverside doesn't allow that magical fix, it is not particularly useful.
I have Riverside (as of today) but do I need to set up my iphone AND computer at the same time. Because the quality looks just like Zoom, not great.
Hey, can you help me please, my uploading velocity is very slow, can you say your internet upload speed please to compare to mine please?
I can't get my riverside fm to work. My guest can't even log in
Why no Samsung love? :)
Did you have any issues with the echo? How did you resolve it?
I did not but you need to have the person causing the echo change the toggle on that when it happens.
Nope, Riverside is overrated. There is limited functionality for the price. Good quality but that's it.
