Very Underrated Player. Original, having both a natural feel and excellent technical ability. Has a wide range of musical influences and it really shows in his style. A big credit to AfI's diversity through the years is credit to Jade. From Black Sails right through to their new Blood Album, the band constantly reinvents themselves. Definitely the trademark of a legendary band, which they are.
He was my inspiration to pick up guitar when I was 14, I'm 32 and still love afi and play guitar every day

jade puget is one of the best guitar players and songwriters of his generation, amazing guitarist.....black sails in the sunset, art of drowning, and then sing the sorrow, all amazing stuff. the newer afi albums have also been good but i liked them more when they still had a punk rock element to their music, in the newer stuff that is kind of gone. but i still think jade is fucking amazing....

I have to admit, before seeing this video, Jade was just a background guitarist (in my opinion) but I'm now realizing how talented the man is.

I always felt like Jade’s music was stand alone quality and an equal part AFI as Davey Havok.
I found out AFI and Jade Puget when searching through the cover songs of "The Cure", in my opinion, Jade Puget is a brilliant guitarist, he played the song "Just Like Heaven" so beautifully
Jade did a big and hard work on many AFI albums (starting from black sails), so i think he should have more recognition. Not only guitar, he also does programming, piano, synthesizer and keyboards. Also he's straight edge and i'm proud of his sXe lifestyle, because i'm also straight edge.

First song I ever learned on guitar back in high school. I love jade's very unique guitar style.
I have always loved AFI, from back when they were on Adeline, and when Jade came on board things went to another level. The band definitely changed, but they have managed to continuously evolve, and maybe it just by chance, but they have evolved in the way I have evolved...nothings different about who I am, but I am now more complex and have a broader scope. I really appreciate this insight into his writing process. As a musician I appreciate it, as a 40 year old punk rawker I appreciate it, and as an AFI fan I appreciate it.
AFI is seriously one of the most underrated bands ever! Plus, Jade is such a great dude and a great guitarist/writer!
i'm pretty sure literally every song Jade is asked about starts with "so i was sitting in a basement in California..."
All songs sound like something else after almost 100+ years of music it is bound to happen...This guy is a great player, and to take the time to sit and show fans,and lovers of the music he creates is not only rare but an incredible testament to the kind of guy he is!!
I feel like this is how I would teach my riffs. "I just play this thing here, and go like this..." Jade has my favorite tone (gotta love Les Pauls through Marshalls) and he is most definitely underrated. It's nice to see a tutorial video from him, I didn't think they existed.
Such an underrated guitarist. He's got a good background in music and upbringing. Best punk guitarist in my opinion.
Is "Ba Ba BABA" the technical term, Jade? Lol He rocks, he's the reason Sing the Sorrow and the albums from the late 90's/early 2000's were so great. He developed that band into their own and really took them a long way! Very under rated guitarist in my book! Maybe not technical with solos, but he does what's good for the songs and they've done some really incredible songs since he joined! Thats not typically the situation, most bands change for the worse with new members. Plus the only sticker on his LP is a Rancid sticker!

Wasn't exactly a fan of the band, but I did always like Jade Puget's style. Never heard him talk before, what a cool guy.
Natural Harmonics (what hes using) is performed by lightly pressing the Frets (even lighter than Muting), takes a while to get the pressure right. Easier to use (or to hear) when begining to learn on 12th and 5th Frets.

Wow! I am surprised I never came across this before! Jade Puget was always one of my favorite guitar players/musicians in general. I love Blaqk Audio as well. I even used to have my hair cut similar to his. Anyway, glad to see this! :D

It is more or less the same thing just in a different key. Its a tri tone that makes it sound evil - It sounds so wrong but so right.

personally i dont think he's the best guiatrist he's no paul gilbert or anything but he has good music making skills song writing skills which some shredding guitarist dont have so i like his style and also the fact that he's very chill :D

Pretty cool, wish I had some tabs. So far I only found bass tabs. Little weird, but this is my favorite AFI song and I have to know how to play it. Really cool to get the emblishment details too.

a harmonic is were you hold your finger on top of the string but you don't hold it down takes a while to get it perfect and you need distortion in my cover of this video i'm uploading in a minute i don't have enough lmao
@103964988 he still plays old songs at shows. Just because his tempo has slowed down a bit, doesn't mean he's not a great punk guitarist still. They played A Single Second the last show I seen.
