Adrian, you’re the best guitar tutor on UA-cam. You cover such great songs.
Anyone else here after ceremony?
@@rageagainsthememe71 Hes fucking brilliant is Adrian
Superb teacher.
Spellbound
I can't agree more.
Early Cure had some really unique guitar parts. Robert Smith is underrated as a guitarist. Simple but very distinctive and unusual
This song inspired me to pick up the guitar over 30 years ago. It was the first song I learned.
Same, except it was just 2 years ago
What age are you now?
Same, this was really the first Cure song i discovered on my own. I was instantly drawn in, crazy how tremendous the trilogy was in the early days.
same.. in 82
I remember the first time i ever heard this song,i was at a biker festival and i was half pissed, about 10 years ago.
I just heard that opening guitar sound and i ran to the tent where the band were playing it,i was just mesmerised by it,and the band were absolutely fantastic at it too,the tent was all lit up by a green light and it was really late at night,it was just a fantastic atmosphere, loved the song ever since.
This song is so beautiful it makes me cry
Robert Smith thought of us the beginners at the guitar when he composed this song 😂💜😙🔥Thank you for doing such an understandable tutorial!
It's not just your playing , it's your attention to detail with the gear that makes you the best on UA-cam, keep them coming master
Yes yes yes.......this is what I’ve been waiting for! Adrian you have great taste in music. Loved your Siouxie and the Banshees, Smiths, PIL and Happy Monday’s riffs.....and now The Cure. You are one of the best teachers on UA-cam. More Cure please.
True
Amazing stuff.. More Cure please!
I second that more Cure please
I third that!
#metoo !
I fourth that. There just isnt enough of the cure on youtube
Yes - Jumping Someone Else's Train
Managed to download a great patch for this song to my Katana and was looking for a tutorial. This is fabulous - thank you so much you are an excellent teacher
Flawless song from a flawless album
YES!!! Fantastic video... the Cure is so overlooked in the guitar community
True true total guitar band 3 pc in the beginning
johnny marr 🔛🔝
Could not even tell you how much I appreciate your stuff . Thanks for all your brilliant vids always presented with class and humour.
"It's flanger time!" Loved that intro!
Thank you, Sir, for an amazing tutorial of this Postpunk classic. I salute your good taste and courage for choosing this and other songs I LOVE!!! Your work on The Cure, Siouxie and the Banshees, Wire, The Fall, Cramps, etc, is a class act. Suscribed!
Probably my favorite Cure song ever. It's so damn moody.
This is just what I needed. There are so many covers and tutorials for this song, but this is the first one I've found that actually offers some explanation of the solo, the improvisation and the dissonance at the end - thank you!
Would love a further delve in to the solo and ending dissonance. Part 2 needed!!!
Always great song choices with your lessons. Thanks!
Wonderful tone, wonderful lesson(s). Thanks mister.
Awesome - great job. Lot's of fun.
Wow! Great lesson, great song.
You're on a roll with the indie favourites. Brilliant!
Flanger is such an incredible effect!!! Great vid
Excellent Adrian...A great lesson on a fabulous song!
Such a great song. Thanks for the lesson! Very concise and supremely in-depth!
Awesome content! I like that you add a bit of theory in there too for us nerds. Thank you, Adrian, thank you.
This is just amazing! Love the content.
Just found your channel. Where have you been all my life? New order and cure songs and Andy Gill! Bless you
Awesome song and tuition, thank you!
Amazing selection and tone as always Adrian!

Massive Cure fan, absolutely love this song, great cover!
I really appreciate you putting this together and explaining the effects used! 🙏 👍 Great playing as well!
Thanks adrian, a great lesson for a fantastic track.
Absolutely amazing video. Probably the clearest guitar tutorial I’ve seen. Glad you showed up on my feed.
Love it when his little head goes nodding away
Very cool. Nice instructional of an awesome song.
I'm going to savour this one! You might have unlocked a massive list of requests for other Cure songs (Killing an Arab, being one!)
Thanks for these lessons man. I love your song selection
Good man keep the great work up, the only guy I can understand on UA-cam when describing how songs are played
love this lesson Adrian. Learning so much from your channel
Thank you. I knew some parts of the song, but you filled the missing partsnin a clear and educational way. Easy to learn and follow.
This song is meditative, thankyou👍
One of the first songs I ever worked out on guitar. Classic.. and beginner friendly....
Oh and every new guitarists fav pedal ;)
Very cool
My all time favourite Cure
Thx
Saw this performed live three times and this lesson is the perfect way to teach it as Robert noodles more on this song than others.
Excellent tut! Thanks!
Great. There's that tiny bass accompaniment bit before the song gets going at the end of the first change. Priceless video thanks 🙂
Such a great song for a beginner to learn, since almost every modeling amp nowadays has some built-in effects! Thank you and get well soon!
Great lesson! Thank you!!
Best tutor on the net! Great songs and great lessons
Really amazing song. Thank you. And I agree with the commet below. You're one of the few turors on this site that I acutally learn something from.
Thank you Adrian, great lesson, and you had a cold too, respect mate!
Thank you for this. Really helped me tonight.
Love it !! Thanks man!
This lesson helped me a lot - thanks Adrian
Loving the song choices on the channel, cheers mate! :)
Great Adrian! Many thanks, what a dark atmosphere that this song has, from a pure 80s post punk era
Wonderfull ! i love this song. You're a good teacher and you have a very good feeliing with your Jazzmaster. Thank you very much from France.
You are the greatest on UA-cam.
I would love to CCR’s Green river.
I can still remember going into Doncaster Sth Yorks UK and buying the single after hearing it on John Peels radio show, I then saw the band at Sheffield Polytechnic shortly after, to be honest, they were crap but I did see them again years later at Sheffield city hall and they were amazing a really tight polished act.
Your name rings a bell. You're not from Barnsley by any chance are you?
stunning tone and playing man
nicely played!!
That was really good!
Really good mate! Thank you and very very well done!!!
nicely done!
This was Ace, I am going to buy a flanger this week just to get started *I've loved this tune since University days many decades ago and I'm hopeful your lesson (watched probably 100+ times) will help me learn to play it
One of my favourite guitar tracks - learnt this a while back but wasn't so good on the power chords, so going to watch you do it the right way ;-)
excellent tutorial!
Love this song!
Thanks I leaned it very quickly def really cool to play, thanks m8
Great tutorial which inspired me to buy a E-guitar again after many years which I have heard music but didn't play. You teach many songs on your channel which I like very much although I'm quite a bit older than you and live in another country but music unites generations doesn't matter where they live. Thanks.
What new piece of sweetness is this! Great (unexpected) choice. Flange it!
You are KILLING it!!!! (So wish I could play like that)
great lesson! thanks.
Amazing - Thank You !!
I have literally no idea how to play the guitar but only after 30 min I can play the melody of my favorite song because of you!🙏🤝
Great lesson Adrian!
Thank you I learned this😁😁
Thankyou for clearing up the flange part in a forrest . Its been 25 years trying to work out how they did it.
The riff i am talking off is the verse riff.
Its what gives the song its intensity to me. A bassline not on a bass. I have seen them live but prefer them on vinyl.
The verse riff phases in and out in the track a little adding further ambience to me.
I must have heard it well over 5000 times and it never gets old.....like me.
I was in my 20s when it was released.
Thanks for a great video....props.
The beginning of fascination st with Rob playing the intro has a similar ambience and depth.
I really reallyreally enjoyed practicing this even though i play mostly bass, you are an excellent teacher thank youso much
Thanks, realize I've been playing it a bit wrong, those accents make a massive difference, one of my favourites
You're The best!! I love all your videos. Saludos desde Argentina.
when i want to learn a song in music to my taste...This is the place I go...thanks mate
Great tutorial. Really opened up a whole new world of dusty black coats, black nail varnish and patchouli. I'm off to swirl now. Watch my cider chaps.
great lesson I love it thank you just great
First Andy Gill then Robert Smith - you are the gift that keeps on giving.
You play some of the coolest songs on youtube. Nice to have variety.
That's exactly what I look for. Very good. Thaks
Love the way his head wobbles about like its on a stick hahah . Great song choices by the way .....Your de Maaaan ...
Love this - thankyou :)
Thanks Adrian. Really enjoyed this one and 'Play for today'. Re the BF-3 - I just bought one of those, before I saw this video (honest) and just before I saw 'Play for today' the other week. Both videos very well explained and easy to follow, cheers.
Thank you for the lesson
Awesome. Thanks!!!
