Nothing wrong with covers. Many covers are well written songs, and it is great that a new generation can listen to them. So many covers led me to older singers and bands and a lot of music I had never heard before and enjoyed.

With that said, could you react to Glennis Grace singing Whitney Houston? Her "15 Toppers In Concert" would be a good start. Just sit back & be blown away by her unrivalled talent!
Hi Chod, I tried to give you a little surprise welcome back. Their second collaboration from the summer. Tori’s first full length Olivia cover and her first time in a full length playing an instrument. We see all the Dans 😊 he plays nearly everything. Tori on an Ovation acoustic/electric but she also plays keyboards and some wait for it … drums. She’s only touched a cymbal in a video (Crazy On You) so no Mr. Guder, Karen solo yet. Almost everything Beatles, short videos has her on keyboards. Her other main collaborator, James Wilkas is on post production of Close To You. As you might expect he’s got to be buried under that one. I’ll get it to you when that finally drops. I have an idea for another reaction. I’ll get that to you. 😊 Be well and keep on having fun! (I said but it’s Tori?) She found Superstar (I had no idea) and that showed me her three “Ohio Session” songs. I was armed with four songs and we were off to the races. Once I realized this WASN'T Olivia and Cliff, I almost clicked off. However, it's one of my favorite songs from the 80's, so I gave it a chance. Glad I did. Thank you for making me aware of this cover.
Hi Rod, glad you discovered Tori. She really is an amazing singer. More known for her Carpenters covers, this truly shows off her range, Contralto to Soprano. Chod has done numerous reactions and of course her channel, which is her name, has loads of examples in long and short form. Joe
Tori is a very gifted singer, and does Karen Carpenter justice. Regarding COVERS ... if you don't do covers, you will have to eliminate 99% of LINDA RONSTADT ! JUST A SIN ... as she is IMO the greatest singer I have ever heard !
Carpenters were a cover band until their 4th album when Goodbye To Love hit. All the people telling Tori to stop doing covers, haven’t a clue. She has 2 originals with more on the way, including her first self written song. If she stays on track and keeps away from pitch correction like so many of her contemporaries, she’ll make it. When I found out Lucy Thomas uses PC, I sank. Why? Joe
@@jbs256 Joe, Perhaps you misunderstood my comment. Had heard Tori do a Carpenter's known song (regardless who wrote it), and she sounded almost identical to Karen (great job). That's what I meant. Cover or non-cover, if the singer does the song justice, fantastic ! As stated Linda Ronstadt mostly does covers, and takes the song, makes it her own, and in most cases makes the song better. And might I ad, often with the song writers permission. As with the case of "Desperado", and Don Henley's permission. In fact the Eagles asked her to sing it, then making it a hit. Tori singing her songs or others does not matter IMO. Do a good job and I will listen to it. With regard to Lucy, that's just sad, such a talent ! Hope this helps !
