I'd rather wait two years for a dlc, or go back to only one major update in between releases like in D1, if it meant the content mattered. I can't even blame devs with how seasons are handled, because their work vanishes in less than a year, never to be seen again, so why would they bother making something interesting?
Played for 10 years and nearly 10k hours in that time. Stopped playing a month after Final Shape and honestly don’t think I’ll ever be back. It was a fun ride, but this thing has run its course.
It’s just not fun anymore. I play games for entertainment after a long day at work. Destiny feels like a second job and Xur sells garbage, same crap every week. The dawning is just plain stupid. I had a long grind for tanasha’s mastery and now they want to nerf it a few weeks later. SMH.
Honestly the -5 power in raids and dungeons kinda killed the grind for me. I used to chase +21 power to get a little bit of edge; now there’s no point. I don’t want to “git gud” I just wanna relax while I play and chill with my friends.
Destiny 2 feels less of a game and more like a job or a chore. Quitting Destiny is the most healthiest thing you can do. The game focuses on too much grind and FOMO.
I quit after playing Destiny 1 for 2 years. I came to this same conclusion. Playing raid, crucible and everything else every week on to the same armor that I didn't need.
Facts u have to grind and be a tryhard as a casual I’ve never beat a dungeon or raid they too hard and i never have help. U gotta put stuff on the hardest difficulty for a chance at getting something good. It’s just constant replay missions until u get good loot. I dont mind a grind but it has to be rewarding
I played from 2017-2019, then i quit after my whole clan stopped playing. I got back into again last year, but got bored and haven’t played again. I completed the og Leviathan raid multiple times, never completed Last Wish, I did enjoy completing the VOG again. Bungie needs to completely reboot this franchise and also dump the stupid Dawning.
Tried playing a run of Crota's End. I had watched a few guides and had a idea of how the encounters played out. I was kicked when they found out I had never run it before. Tried to form my own group and spent over an hour looking for peps to run with. That is a major hinderance when a big chunk of the content in your game is PVE group content. The gatekeeping is just ridiculous.
Yep. This is why I stopped playing two years ago. I'm damn good in Raids, Nightfalls, Exotic Weapon Quests, etc. If LFG folks didn't have ridiculous requirements when looking for players and actually took a moment to explain and sherpa good players who follow directions, I think there would be more people playing the game. Instead, there's a lot of toxicity when trying to find a group, which makes people walk away from the game.
The "kwtd" culture of raids and dungeons is absolutely ridiculous. Blind raids are some of the most fun I've had on D2 and tend to go smoother over time, while kwtd runs devolve into "who can blame who the most" because nobody is willing to learn, they think one YT video taught them everything.
Everyone kept complaining about grinding but they didn't realize that grinding was the only reason they played. Bungie kept making the game easier and easier to play, now it's too boring. I've been saying this was coming for years. Catering to the hypercasual has ruined the game for everyone.
@@xcelestialdemon8245 i totally agree with what you have to say as making the game harder is way more fun also they would add good fun and effective weapons like theyve done before however everyone that grinds the game have a right to be mad at grinding because they need a replayability which we once had many times
Destiny 3 is not the answer. Until we see some serious upside and a proven ability to keep players engaged Bungie is nowhere near close to being able to pull off a D3. Sit down people. Something shiny and new may amuse an audience but in practice changes nothing.
Bro my Steam Replay showed my D2 playtime drop off HARD over the months to the point where I haven’t played since July. There’s so many other better games out there to experience.
On steam alone I have 9k on Destiny 2 and stopped playing after Final Shapes end. Thought it’d be a good time to end my 10 year journey with the franchise and I couldn’t be happier from the things I’ve heard over the months.
Yeah, there was a lot more than 9000 players yesterday. Jesus learn to read there might’ve been only 9000 in the hour that you were playing, but there was a lot more than 9000 over the course of the entire day.
Well, let’s not forget the fact that it is an event that it’s gone on for six years. It’s been anybody who gives a shit about that. They do is already done it multiple times at least a couple and that’s kind of the point destiny too. The game is over with anybody that still clinging to it is just not accepting the situation as it is That the game is done. There’s not gonna be any more contact for this game. They’re not gonna get new events they’re just gonna keep recycling the same seasonal shit and when I say signal, I don’t mean content that you’re stupidly buying every season. I mean actual world season Halloween and Christmas. Those kind of things you’re not gonna get anything new it’s just gonna be Hash of what you’ve done in the past. They’re not gonna develop anything new except episodes which are gonna take you want a few hours to complete and then you’re gonna grind that episode for how many weeks or months until the next one comes out because well you’re gullible damn betting you have to buy something to get all the content in that episode right you’re just gullible But still there’s at least several hundred thousand people playing this game on any given day on steam probably as much if not more playing it on PlayStation and Xbox as well because again we have a much more limited choice for everything so games like this they last longer at higher content, levels and games that aren’t really even as good as that will last as well at higher content level on PlayStation at least that’s what I’ve seen on PlayStationin any case you made your career on Bethany and you’re not already looking for some other track you’re kind of shortsighted
And by the way, you are a perfect example of the kind of gamer that literally ruins gaming for us. If you don’t like the season then don’t do it. There are literally other ways to get the new gear if you’ve got all the gear cause you’ve been playing for 4000 5000 hours Then you worn out this game move on to something else demand something else not the same recycled bullshit if you’re not having fun, just playing the game shooting and killing things with your friends then you’re doing it wrong. I mean you don’t have to be with your friends. I’m just saying if the game has become boring for you and you’re keeping your continuing to play And not experiencing new things you’re not having any fun then you should be switching to something else hopefully war frame got an exceptional story far better than destiny two story when nearly toll from start to finish you can’t jump ahead even you have to complete every planet kill the boss at the term or whatever it’s called before you can jump in the next planet, you can have to play through the story it is fantastic. The whole acting is supreme. The cinematography is supreme. There’s nothing in destiny that relates at all, but it’s not a loser shooter so you know you may find the concept of acquiring parts and crafting everything you use to be somewhat tedious but here’s a nugget bun intended destiny to be just like that when it came out it had static rolls on weapon. They expect you to get a weapon and then move on because they knew they were gonna be thousands of pieces to collect And then public opinion sway them into the situation. We have now where possible to get God role so they had to put in a crafting system so let your craft of God rolls or frame started a year before that one and player count wide. There’s a long outlasting destiny tooso I think on that for a minute.
For me, I like to play solo. Its impossible now. Everything is a team experience. I didn't spend this much money on this stupid game for them to decide how I have to play to progress. Too grindy. Too tedious. Too much money wasted on a Raid-Dungeon based BS time sink. Been nice Destiny. You have ruined the game, and i dont have any more time or money to care
Yep. Many warned them and expressed this same concern on forums and the streamers, UA-camrs and elites all responded with “get gud, don’t like it leave, it’s an MMO !! Etc etc “ Well well well. Player have since left.
Agreed. It eventually got to the point I realized it wasn't made for me anymore. All the new stuff requiring teams and the final nail in the coffin was the forced co-op mission to get the exotic class item. Prior to that you could run every single exotic mission solo. That was it for me.
@@EchoDoctrine Streamers, content creators, and their deluded fanboys are a big reason for the game's current state. They demanded a more difficult and more challenging experience, and while the game did become tougher and more grindy, it lost its fun factor in the process.
They don't fix trials because cheaters always have to make new accounts & buy the latest expansion. It's their way of inflating player counts to investors - both parties win. Bungie gets to say their game is healthy with fake player accounts, and cheaters making $3-4k every weekend gets to keep making lots of money. I knew a guy with 6 consoles who ran "services"
The biggest problem is they have progressively made the playlists, particularly the vanguard playlist more and more tedious, adding time sinks to the faster strikes, dumping all the crappy battlegrounds in there that majority of players don't enjoy, and with that, we are still earning the same amount of dawning essense as when lake of shadows used to take 2 minutes. They keep increasing the time to complete this stuff and not updating all the other shit that was balanced around 5 year old content. God I miss year 2 of this game, before the crappy seasons, before the crappy overuse and reuse of battlegrounds every season. Back when seasons were like black armory or opulence... They are actively killing the game, and it is only getting worse with every season they release.
They keep saying they are taking a step back from adding strikes, or Gambit, citing low player numbers, but like, the reason no one plays these things is because you don't update them. The way Bungie says it, they make it sound like they tried in the first place, but we can clearly see virtually no effort goes into the game outside of DLC and seasons. (we had ITL, but that burst of creativity had a BIG ulterior motive, so...) But then that goes away each year, so we're left with a game completely devastated by the content vault stuff, and absolutely no attempts at repairing it. The game feels so fragmented and unfinished now because it literally is.
I'm someone who always used to hop in strikes and grind them for fun, it was legitimately very fun speedrunning them but then after around... season of the deep strikes kinda just felt like a husk of what they once were.
@@samuelhofer7099 gambit dying because bungie doing literally the worst thing imaginable to it (infinite heavy ammo) and then saying "no one plays gambit anymore" still fills me with rage
@@epicgamerzfail4575 EXACTLY They only remove maps, removed the competitive mode, it took them over a year to add DLC enemies, and obliterated the ammo economy, then had the balls to say last year not enough people play it. Like, gee, I wonder why?
@orangejuice9396 And same. Back in D1, and for a few years in D2, I'd spend hours just goofing off in the playlists. No goal, no seasonal grind, it was just fun to do.
It isn’t that Bungie isn’t capable of churning out meaningful changes and adjustments… It’s just that the way they do so is the epitome of “too little to late”, waiting months if not YEARS to finally get around to adding the things players _really want._
As someone who played everyday with a group of friends across the game's lifespan, it's just not the same. The big finally to the story happened, the short episodes are just that (seasons renamed but that's besides the point), nothing massive to look forward to, events are the same, etc.. Destiny as a whole is just boring and players that have chased the guns, done the new content, all the raids, dungeons, achievements, pvp, etc. is just not appealing anymore. I don't think that is a bad thing. It is just the sign of a game that has lived its life. Maybe the future plans for Destiny will bring it back, but in my opinion I am okay leaving my guardian where he is. His story ended and I will forever cherish those memories.
It's not even the grind. It's that we don't feel rewarded for doing that grind. I wouldn't mind grinding if the grind ended with a nice little loot explosion but instead we get like a couple drops at most every 15-20 min. That just doesn't feel all that good. Imagine if at the end of each encounter in dungeons/raids/activities we had like 5+ weapons dropping. That would at least feel like we were rewarded even if none of the rolls are that good. But just getting a couple and neither being great it's like....the hell was all that time used for lol.
Bungie deserves this. After throwing away all the lessons learned in D1, the increasingly greedy monetization, deleting content we paid for, increasingly lazy writing, etc. It's over, and they've no one to blame but themselves.
@ they’ve mastered the art of shutting down studios and dispersing the remaining personnel to their other studios. The only problem is all the devs worth anything at all will already be gone if they’re not already gone. You can see it in most AAA studios, they’re all staffed by women and DEI hires. That’s why 75% of new games are trash.
@@chincemagnetgaming industry got lazy with micro transactions. Mfs say expand ur gaming but i play almost everything and everything is ass nothing feels rewarding anymore. Ive gone back and replayed older games. Anything past 2019 is ass, you’d think Covid allowed for longer development and better ideas but it didn’t. Games today have a 2-3 month cycle and die out.
I'm surprised a game like this lasted 7 years, as a new player earlier this year the game is so elitist and unwelcoming to new players. The leveling for a newer player is like a full-time job just to play the content and the people who raid and play trials expect everyone to be saltagreppo or saywallah or you get kicked and told to die. GMs are also uninspired and the loot is terrible. I only come back for the seasonal events and Dungeons.
I like how they gaslight the playerbase when something doesn’t work or something is not played enough and in the end put the blame on the playerbase “saying players do not interact with this XYZ activity”.
They made it so new players can't just jump in and play the game. How many hours would it take a new player to get all the subclasses, fragments, etc. just to be able to compete in PVP or higher end PvE. Bungie made the grind so massive that players don't even want to switch characters and get missing subclasses or fragments on a different class character. Let alone grinding for the meta weapons.
Im excited. Because I want to see Bungie get their comeuppance. It's been FAR too long. I dont think all the Devs are bad folks. I think it's managment and the C suite execs are the problems. I HOPE Marathon drops and makes Sony eat crow.
I hat* the design of Marathon, it look too much fluo, too much woke, without any interest character (at mooment). I would prefer an D3 instead of woke rubbish battle royale or an FPS extraction. I look for a great LORE, not a silly "teen" looter shooter
At the end of the day, as a veteran player, the problem isn’t actually Destiny, it’s Bungie. I used to love the game, but it’s clear people over at Bungie dont. I cant be passionate about something that even the creators don’t really care about. It’s just cash grab after cash grab. The put more effort into finding ways to charge us more money, while only allowing the bare minimum to be added.
Destint 2 players are much older than most gamers. That is also an issue. There is NO influx of young people who want to play (12-25) and would rather play other games. Also the game really does suck now.
And the community is not great, I tried getting into destiny despite all the money grubbing, and the community was just straight up not nice to interact with. So I left lmao.
I'm notoriously bad at destiny, but blasting space aliens with the multitude of fun and differing weapons in game is therapeutic to me. I will play this game until they disconnect the servers.
Right Marathon, the game like maybe ten people as excited about. I think Marathon is going to be the death of Bungie, that are backing it like its a golden goose when in reality its anything but.
I'm an old guy, I played the game once until the 'quid pro quo' part. What I really liked about it were the game were the gun designs and I made my own 3D models of them, printed them: the rat king, the thorn, I worked in lights and different things. It's sad to see this, i was hoping there would be Destiny 3 by now.
I finally gave up after they said "we know the trust is lost and want to earn it back" for the MILLIONTH time. I realized that if i wouldnt want my sister/daughter to keep going back to an abuser every time he said sorry despite not changing his ways, then i also needed to stand up for myself and stop supporting a company who clearly didnt respect my time/money enough to follow through.
I will always have love for the game. When the game was at its lowest I’d still find ways to log in & do something but the past few weeks I’ve lost interest. I loaded up the other day & just sat in orbit.
I can't think of anyone who has experienced what Bungie has done to the Destiny franchise that would be willing to invest their time, effort and money into another Bungie project, other than YT shills.
@@CatofTailsNine100%. Especially the pve players that may try out an extraction shooter, having the gear they grind for in a match ripped away by the exfill campers and inevitable cheaters.
@@CatofTailsNinebro the money we invested into Destiny that we thought was going back into destiny has been going into marathon for years. I hope it fails I feel betrayed
Many players on forums and twitter warned Bungie this would happen. Many casuals and solo players asked for more difficulty options & stop the forced multiplayer BS that require comms and raid lite mechanics (see the whole class exotic dual destiny debacle). The streamers, youtubers and elites all responded to those posts with “STFU, Get Gud, don’t like it then leave, it’s an MMO you must play with others & do mechanics, get a mic & use lfg it’s not hard loser, etc etc” The elites , streamers and UA-camrs ruined this game. Just so they could make complicated guide videos and get views or more people in their discord channels for dual destiny carries & raffles. 45 min raid guide videos…. Gee I wonder why no one plays raids. Why don’t casuals play raids…. Casuals can play other games and have FUN like Marvel Rivals, Helldivers, Space Marines, etc etc and they don’t need phd guide videos to learn 28 symbols and mechanics. I hope Saltagreepo and Datto are happy.
Exactly. My buddy and I can play all of the end bosses in The First Descendants as a duo. There are 2 bosses you can’t play solo but the rest of the content is all available on private mode that you can play solo. Destiny needs more solo content.
@@ladysariel2627 I agree. But Bungie have made their decision. They decided to cater to people that can no-life the game. Regardless of the statistics they know show most player don't do the "end-game" content anyway. They now play a new stock market based game that players aren't involved in at all. But they still pump out the same bs and it's our fault as a player base if we don't enjoy it? Or find the content worth the time and effort required? It shouldn't take a MBA to see that Bungie has rarely, if ever, paid any attention to the majority of actual players. They play a game between earnings calls and BS to keep Sony from dumping their ass. They use Influencers as a barometer. That's foolish and short sighted. I really enjoy Rick and several Destiny creators. But I don't pay attention to them as guidance for playing Destiny. You already love Destiny if you know these people and watch their videos. I want the game to survive and succeed. But they keep sucking for seeds they ignore.
For a game that has so much content, I feel like I have so little to do. I have so little drive to log in and do anything these days. I used to love just chilling out in the Vanguard list and grind out some strikes. Now, not at all. I really don't want to play any of the Battlegrounds of any type. And some of the daily modifiers just suck. Now I log in maybe once a week, knock out my Pathfinders, maybe do a dungeon or seasonal activity and that's it. Drip feeding boring content doesn't make for longevity.
Listen....I loved Destiny for years....but between poor leadership caring more about lining their pockets, the lazy stretched out story, crucible ammo economy reworks, the same identical seasonal events EVERY SINGLE YEAR......I couldn't anymore....I SPEAK TO ALL DESTINY PLAYERS NOW......would you not rather remember the game we loved so fondly as opposed to what it's currently become?.....LET DESTINY DIE WITH WHAT LITTLE DIGNITY IT HAS LEFT
Destiny fans haven't even stopped to think what a Destiny 3 would even be at this point. Bungie are 2 for 2 on horrible launches that took at least a year to start getting barely better, Bungie lost half of its studio to layoffs and the main story people were wanting to see the conclusion to has concluded. Destiny 3 would genuinely, truthfully be nothing more than extra piss is Destiny fans mouths. But then again, that's what they enjoy the most.
As someone who platinum’d D2 on release and then fell off in CoO, I tried a couple of times to get back into the game. My main problem was that pretty much all the content I knew was completely gone, I was basically a free to play player but it was incredibly hard to even figure out what I would have to buy to get back in. The business model is so confusing and every time I actually figured out how a system worked I felt it was sort of predatory. It’s a shame because I loved the gameplay but what I felt the game expected of its players just didn’t fit into my life anymore.
Sunset is what pushed me away from game. Also, Who even wants to play games where story starts from middle? They pushed old players with Sunsetting and removal of starting content also pushed New Players away too.
I have about 4k hours in this game since 2017. I love the universe and the game itself, like I don't think anybody can disagree when i say this but Bungie has and always will be the GOATs of Gunplay ever since Halo CE. With that being said the story is finished we beat the bad guy so why continue playing beyond that? Now say you want to continue beyond that well what do you have to look forward to? Not a whole lot, the episodes are very boring and they're just seasons with less content. Okay great at least the core gameplay is still fun what about raids? Well people tend to kick others for just wanting to learn and friend groups tend to already have 6 so they're not very open and clans can be very toxic. The rest of the game is just boring and huge time sinks. Why would I want to play a game when there's no reason to grind for said gun when they reversed sunsetting, because hottake sunsetting was good they just needed to tone it down. That all being said I don't want Bungie to fail, they've been my go to game dev since I first played Halo CE as a kid so I want them to do well it's just they can't at the moment. They can't compete with others when the experiences are better in other games.
They should have released Destiny 3 years ago. This game lasted for far too long. At this point I don't think Bungie will even survive long enough for Destiny 3. It's the most consumer unfriendly game with all the FOMO that's in it. I genuinely wanted to come back to play it after I quit when they said they were going to sunset gear which would invalidate everything I ever did in the game, but there is just too much I missed which made me say nope I'll wait until D3...
I'm also blown away with haven't reworked Dawning. I haven't interacted with Dawning, Festival of the Lost, or Solstice the past 2 years. I can't be the only one ignoring them.
Havent touched the game in over 4 months, got on to do a raid and the egos in this game is too much. Im so glad i moved to playing other games, d2 is so stressful in so many ways.
Bruh the amount of copium in this video is insane, Aztec said it best “when you have to make a guide for a mission and the guide needs to have a bug guide in it aswell isn’t it”
If they made a destiny three, they would either have xivu arath or a whole extinction of the guardians and slowly rebuild again with new things than before. Not only that, bungie could have made the last expansion way better with cayde staying honestly. Seeing him just come back help with expansion and then go again, even though I never got to experience something great with cayde before, is really upsetting. I was expecting something bigger. All of us were probably. I wanted cayde to experience something with us again. Not just be there, do your purpose then leave again.
I’ve played since the Taken King but one main thing that killed it for me was them getting rid of guided games. In Destiny 1 I found people to raid with and some of D2. But guided games was great, being able to que as a seeker and find people that wanted to help. Getting rid of that and making it far harder to find groups, along with bad content, having to pay for dungeons and so much other content, etc. it all just sadly killed one of my all time favorite games.
It's too grindy, takes up too much time of your life to play, and for a professional adult with a family there isn't enough time or desire for that crap. I haven't been able to complete any of the last few seasons, and when I begin playing again to catch up, I'm not even sure what to do anymore.
For me a big part of my dip out was both the beginning of act story release - when you complete all of it in an hour or so and don’t even realize you finished ALL of it for the entire act…. The other being dropping the seasonal weapon crafting. I never did enjoy the grindy grinding one weapon for hours and hours to get a roll that was good. With craftable seasonal weapons, it was a collection completionionist mentality. At least under the old seasons I had a reason to log in at a weekly reset like ALL other mmos.
@ you are the minimal minority bud. Most players will not bother being scammed all over again. But please continue to simp and shill for a developer that gives zero phuqs about you.
I honestly feel like another reason why people stop play, at least some new comers, is that there’s just so much to do at the start of the game after you leave earth the first time and it can be really overwhelming. I played destiny 1 for a long time and I had never felt like that because of how the game would wait till you were a specific level to unlock some missions
Hearing Kackis have the most reasonable crashout over Destiny ever is like hearing something finally breathe in after holding their breath for too long
@@humanactivated1017 Problem is that incredibly relevant story beats and plot points are put into seasonal content that is then removed from the game. If seasonal content is designed to be removed it should not be plot relevant.
@@humanactivated1017do you realize your paying 100$ a year for said seasonal content which includes weapons you won’t be able to get after it gets removed as well every piece of story content as well?
I wish I could have played Destiny 2 the way I would’ve liked to. I had my oldest child, who is now 7, a month before Destiny 2 released. I’ve put so many hours into this franchise , but have never finished a raid in D2. But I have so many great memories of D1, I put thousands of hours into that game. Nowadays, I just hate how this company has handled itself, it’s completely turned me off from ever coming back. I had hopeful thoughts of raising my own 4-man raid team with my kids, but doubtful that’s a possibility anymore.
Not surprised. I only started playing about 3 months ago and I can already tell the devs dgaf about their players. No way to report in game issues and have them fixed within a reasonable amount of time. Whoever at bungie that’s making decisions are gonna run this game into the ground. This is what happens when you have someone in charge that is worried more about profits over everything else. It’s pretty sad because I really love this game and it feels like they just aren’t trying anymore.
I feel like that is definitely Mr. ceo's fault. The devs aren't making content out of passion anymore; they're making content out of fear of losing their jobs.
I agree how do you even report issues?? WOW has an ingame DEV to talk to to fix issues at a time. this game is horribly managed but potential so high that they will never meet and honestly why play marathon when you cant even run this game productively. In the new dungeon they still havent even fixed the hunter super to work in there an entire sublcass for MONTHS.
We won't see any promises or increases in content until we see how Marathon goes. I'm baffled they've neglected Destiny this much but until we see what happens with Marathon we don't know what the future of Destiny will be
I hear your hopefulness. I have just been fooled one too many times into thinking this year would be the RIGHT year for destiny to get back on track. A banger DLC is good but it just ain't it for longivity and I don't feel like wagering my money on the next year being that BANGER year.
Played Destiny 1 and been here since the beginning of D2 but just like Cade, i will choose not to return if they make D3. Grinded so much and met a lot of great guardians, but i just don’t have the energy and enthusiasm to start again. It’s been super fun, though, even with all the ups and downs, I’ve always made the best of it.
Ive been saying it for years no one wants to endlessly grind for marginally better loot, we need fresh experiences that are fun to play, we need fresh enemies with new abilities that have evolved with ours, we need fresh compelling stories with consequences that push us to play.
@@IveBeenWithBruma Here need to say thanks Bungie that they decided to save money and implement P2P, cause this networking are unsecure, has problem with stability and even can easily be infected with virus. So to find all of the cheaters(or even small part of them) need to spend just numerous time and resources.
The reason the count is dropping is bc of the lack of crafting in new weapons, multiple ridiculous currencies, stupid potions, terrible seasonal activities, wasting players time, etc. I love the mechanics and play of the game, but Bungie is not appreciative of player time availability.
nope , even when crafting was there people dropped off, so its not that, people liked the rng and excitment of getting new rolls, also theres crafting this season, gadren raid weapons are craftable. people just didnt like the rng to get an rng weapon, its too much rng. i agree with these dumb currencies and bad seasonal stuff, no cool armor, everything is eververse, we should be able to earn those cool armor sets or finishers
@@jaypey8253 Just wrong. Major expansions always see their dips, but the player base was its healthiest when it respected player time which was while crafting was live. It 100% IS that they are disrespecting your time that the player count is imploding. The real funny part is that you have all these people telling you why they quit, and you're like "nah, actually that's not why you quit".
@wredue3733 you told me I'm wrong but literally didn't say why I'm wrong. All you said was " disrespecting player time" which is literally a nothing burger. If you have actual points why I'm wrong I'll listen but my points are factual and from community polls . They are correct
I've been saying this since 2022, what could kill Destiny 2 would be 2025, what they were going to do after Final Shape. And unfortunately that's it, having to look for another game, HellDivers or Warhammer and move on, sad, 10 years, I've been playing since the release of D1, sad.
Looking really foward for the projects Apollo and Behemoth. Didnt know about them at all. feels like i should take a big break and play when these big content drops.
Destiny grind is too much for me it used to be where i can for few hours get off and like made great progress to the end game now it feel like second job and i just do not have enough time in day anymore for the level grind that is in game anymore. That why i been playing division 2 alot more
14:44 didn’t expect to hear how this age of gaming is over from this guy which is very true, yet the hope of Destiny 2 making a comeback makes me think he doesn’t believe it
I don't even think it's crafted vs drops that are the issue. It's that we get like no drops for the amount of time you have to put in for each difficulty. Imagine if after every activity, encounter, etc you had a Borderlands or Diablo/PoE level of loot explosion. Well we'd have to also imagine a post master or character inventory large enough to grab them but if each raid encounter dropped like 5+ weapons each time? More players would do raids. Same with activities. People would be running Onslaught if each chest burst out with several item drops at a time. But we don't. We get like 1 to maybe 3 at most for committing like 10+ minutes for with most being trash. That's why crafting felt good because at least eventually you could get the red borders THEN NEVER TOUCH THAT ACTIVITY AGAIN lol. That's not good. You should WANT to keep doing more of the activity. It's just none of it ever feels rewarding enough.
Same, this season having literally a short ass cutscene as it's story coupled with the removal of crafted seasonal weapons really put me off of the game. And I'm someone that was a daily player. I'm not trying to be put to the mercy of these weirdos that want everything to be dependent on bungies trash rng. When they removed that they pushed out a good portion of the playerbase even though no one wants to admit it.
@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 Nahh, the crafted issue is definitely one of the big ones for sure. I went from super excited for Revenant to not giving a damn like a day before release once I realized they were removing crafting to double down on terrible rng. I went from maybe logging on 1 time per week during this season to nothing at all. Some people don't want to have to endlessly grind a game to get stuff.
Agreed! They should have matchmaking for everything in the game, including expert level activities and grandmasters. I understand noobs would join in but then you could give a whole other demographic of players experience and a chance to actually play these harder activities
There’s also hardly any good guns these days. A huge part of making a reason to play was having something to chase. Last episode we had aberrant action. Martyrs. Perfect paradox. Etc. This? Literally ALL HEAVY GLs. And we already had Edge Transit. Chill inhibitor? They handed that out to everybody due to the perk debacle. The ONLY gun that was worth chasing at all this season was the Stasis rocket sidearm (which I did begrudgingly.) But every other Gun this season is mediocre or has a better alternate that exists already. They’re running out of things to make, but it’s odd because there ARE options. Explore more archetypes, even ones that still exist. Oomph the Europa weapons, make there be a reason to run pit of heresy by buffing those. remember the unique frame Coriolus force has? Buff that, and add more! Butttt no. You’re getting like…. A void pewpew sidearm and uh… gridskipper again.
Im just tired of the game disrespecting my time. And if they didn’t put the act system into the game, and dropped all the content at launch. Then maybe I’d want to jump on, but when a gotcha game respects my time over D2 then there’s a time for a change.
A change I had hoped to see in the game was giving us two chests to choose from each encounter of a raid or dungeon. One for an armor drop and one for a weapon drop. Let players choose their drop. I did not enjoy doing raids and dungeons getting 90% armor drops for loot.
Players who work couldn’t enjoy the game whenever a season was removed. This player base wants to play at their own pace, so they would miss out on content. Now that the content is stretched out, it’s easier to enjoy. However, what they should do is add permanent story content to the game, allowing players to progress through it until they catch up to the endgame players. They need to make the game more like Destiny 1, without vaulting content.
This is how I feel too. Between work, family and life, having time gated content makes it so that I either have to play long hours into the night or just not bother because I won't have time to complete it. Giving the option to play past content for completion value and allowing players to grind all content currently locked behind silver is something that will add play value to the game for me again. It would be nice to have the expansions as separate downloads so that you could complete it.
Honestly it’s not even about what’s dropping about the reuse of content, the constant nerfing, the unexotic exotics, and the bad micro transactions. I’ve played longer than most people with Destiny at one point being the ONLY game I played for a time, it just be flopping
Saying we need Destiny 3 is absolutely laughable. Sure, make a new game, but new game doesn't mean new devs. Be ready for half-assed content, nonsense nerfs and pointless grind all with a shiny new "3" instead of a 2
I think UA-camrs ruined destiny. Hear me out. All you UA-camrs that talk about Destiny you release too many secrets and don't let people think for themselves, you give away too many of your own opinions on what's a good item and what's a bad item why don't you let people think for themselves and in the old days of Destiny 1 if you wanted to make a friend you'd go to the tower jump up and down or do some emoting and send a friend request. Then you guys get together and try to find other people who might know how to do an activity because they figured it out. The grind for communication was better and much more fruitful once you achieved it. These online platforms give too many people a place to get lazy, look for easy way out and complain. Let's not forget the fools that pay people for carries I mean that was just horrendous.. cuz they're always going to be a market for cheaters for fools that pay for carries.
I'm a returning player, mainly cause during the Black Friday deals I picked up Lightfall for 3 dollars. I don't have Final Shape at all yet but I have everything previous (minus the seasons I wasn't actually here for during the expansions). Now first and foremost I really HATE that I can't back to the original Campaign just by making a new character or by doing the Campaign Missions for the nostalgia pull and to get those classic weapons and armor. Speaking of which the changes in the weapons and armor are a mix bag for me. For the main thing I love the Enhancement system for weapons where I can level them up through use, haven't really done much with the Deepsight stuff as I picked it up and went straight into the Shadowkeep Campaign to get back to where I was chronologically when I left. I'm now starting Beyond Light. Now for the thing I hate about the weapon system, well older weapons are just outmoded hard, they have their basic setup and classic masterwork but that's it, no leveling them up to improve the 2 traits that are randomized, no deepsight, no new stasis or strand version. Also the unlimited ammo thing has me a bit up and down, for one I like it cause who doesn't like just holding the trigger down and not having to move to get ammo. But on the other had it feels cheap as fuck and really makes the game feel like Overwatch to me where I'm just running around unlimited ammo for many of the Kinetic and Energy weapons and why bother trying to aim cause I can just spray and pray all over the place cause I got unlimited ammo. I do think it was fine with the ammo dropping from kills the way it was and even with the Kinetic/Primary ammo dropping you didn't really hit the out of ammo point unless you just really were bad at aiming and were very under powered for what you were doing. Now the Armor, so far so good, I like that I don't have to have multiple copies of the armor mod and I have all of them available and it's just leveling the armor up that is needed. Does take a bit of the grind away so good there, one less thing to farm. So far I haven't gotten to the new Armor Synthweaving stuff yet so can't say on it. But as is I like that I can increase the stats by 5 or 10 of 1 stat and then have some bonus things going. I've not really done anything with Armor Charges yet either as the mods themselves don't really seem that beneficial to me with how my playstyle is. I do like how I can change the look of most of the armor to be what I want it to look like instead of having to get that exact piece with the stats I want, though it is currently limited and I have a feeling when I get to Armor Synthweaving it'll up the amount of choices I'll have for looks. As to the Find Fireteam issues, well I'm playing this pretty much solo cause none of my old friends in my Friends List play at all anymore. I have had someone watch my stream on Twitch and ask if I wanted to do some stuff together for a while, we did some Gambit and then he took me into a Raid checkpoint, didn't have a clue what to do as it was a new one for me and I just got put on add duty and told to come to where everyone was when Light or Dark was called out. We got some other randoms who didn't have mics so they weren't coordinated with the group and had many issues before finally calling it after about 10 tries. Other than that I just queue up for Strikes/Gambit and the few Crucible matches I needed for a quest (I personally hate PVP cause everyone just Slide-Skates around with shotguns and then you have the corner shots everywhere where you wonder from the kill cam how they even fucking saw the tip of your head they seemed to have hit cause you can't even see where your body is on their screen at all). It does take a few minutes but haven't had any old WoW DPS queue timers of 20-30 minutes just to get in. All in all if I wasn't a bit of a completionist I would be already looking at dropping it and going for a new game, but I want to complete the Campaigns at the very least so I'm still going around doing those and the side quests related to them. Never liked the Battle-pass/Season-pass stuff cause it literally sets up a Pay to Win or Pay to Loot system. Take the Dawning currently. I've done EVERYTHING for it, got the Title, only got 12 more cookies to bake for the Title Gilding to be complete (which will be erased anyway according to the system), all of everything you can possibly do in game for it, all the weapons, however I have NOTHING of the Event Ticket items cause you have to PAY for the ability to spend them even though they are EARNED through doing the event. The Armor, Shader, Ghost Shell, etc all that is purchased by Event Tickets are locked behind 700 Silver pay wall (which true ain't much but got to spend 10 USD to get that Silver) and the Season Pass is the same way. I am in the 70s for the Season Pass rank and there's so many ranks you get 0 for it, but if you pay the 10 USD for it to be unlocked you get ALL the Free stuff AND get something else every single rank. Pay to Loot at it's finest there. No comment on the Episodes as of yet cause I haven't gotten to them, though the game did try hard to throw me into them at first as it would instantly load me into the starting mission for the current episode for the first like 4 or 5 days I came back.
I used to be a PVP player but they ruined PVP’s 6v6 playlist. Now it’s just an ability spam fest where you’re getting hit with some sort of ability or dodge/shield on every single engagement. There’s almost no gun fight, it’s just ability spam or 1 shot kill BS. And they took away Clash team death match playlist. I don’t want to jump into PvP to capture zones all the time, I just want to run and gun. Getting Black Ops 6 was so refreshing, the movement feels kind of like Destiny but the PVP is 1,000,000 times better.
Tbh one of the reasons i havent played desyiny is the seasonal activity takes forever just to drop like 2 weapons that i dont want or doesn't have the perks i want and the lfg in destiny sucks cuz i keep constantly getting ppl who dont have mics like i dont mind trying to carry new players but if u dont have a mic how am i supposed to teach or know what u need help with (this is why last season for me personally was better since i can just get the weapons crafted yes i felt boring to log in everyday and do the seasonal activities like 5x for the red border drop but at least at the end of the season i can just craft the weapons i want with the stats i want and tbh the exotic mission was fun for me)
Destiny is so dead, I kept trying to find a game of Onslaught, only to be paired with the same noob who clearly didn’t know yet how to play. No thank you! 🤨👎🏿🗑️
All I want for Christmas is for Destiny 2 to be as good as it was at it's peak

Why u spreading bad news this game made u bruh
We all know that's not going to happen, unfortunately. I would like Destiny 2 to be good again, too, but I'm not holding my breath.
Rather play on Epic games than support eleitist like you and Aztekcross Unsubbed!
10 year old game. New games released. Content stale etc. Click bait video
I will forever love the game but I just couldn't handle how bad and boring the content is
same.
And then poe2
@@PedroSantos-tp3lw oh is that good? I’m thinkin when I get my ps back I’m gonna pick it up
I agree - the current team seems infantile at creating an engaging story. They put a lot more energy into their pronouns than their products.
@ it’s still on early access. But i’m really loving it
I'd rather wait two years for a dlc, or go back to only one major update in between releases like in D1, if it meant the content mattered.
Yeah I was only holding on till the main story ended
@@privatedankmemes4882same once it ended I hoped off it’s not even downloaded in my PS5 anymore
Same I returned for final shape and from there I put it down. I thought about picking it up again but don’t want to grind.
Same here
they have me on a leash, i had faith and bought the Anual Pass
It’s just not fun anymore. I play games for entertainment after a long day at work. Destiny feels like a second job and Xur sells garbage, same crap every week. The dawning is just plain stupid. I had a long grind for tanasha’s mastery and now they want to nerf it a few weeks later. SMH.
Ditto 😢
EXACTLY.
Maybe try bastion for it's new perk set
Game became a chore
So tired of nerfs IN PVE GAMES THAT REQUIRE ME TO GRIND
Honestly the -5 power in raids and dungeons kinda killed the grind for me.
I used to chase +21 power to get a little bit of edge; now there’s no point.
I don’t want to “git gud” I just wanna relax while I play and chill with my friends.
@amyjay7574 I just want a beer
100% agree
I feel for you. I’m lucky to have people to play with but I’ve experienced thr LFG groups & it’s almost never worth it. Only a waste of time
im sayin, never really completed a destiny raid before
Love destiny, but there's no replayability value. Playing weekly feels like a chore.
Everyone kept complaining about grinding but they didn't realize that grinding was the only reason they played. Bungie kept making the game easier and easier to play, now it's too boring. I've been saying this was coming for years. Catering to the hypercasual has ruined the game for everyone.
@@xcelestialdemon8245same thing happened to ESO
Also an issue is removal of story, which makes it impossible for players to replay the whole Light & Dark saga
@@xcelestialdemon8245 i totally agree with what you have to say as making the game harder is way more fun also they would add good fun and effective weapons like theyve done before however everyone that grinds the game have a right to be mad at grinding because they need a replayability which we once had many times
On god
Destiny 3 is not the answer. Until we see some serious upside and a proven ability to keep players engaged Bungie is nowhere near close to being able to pull off a D3. Sit down people. Something shiny and new may amuse an audience but in practice changes nothing.
4k hours on the game. I quit. Bungie doing less than bare minimum it’s a disgrace
The first time I played Revenant and was introduced to the tonics system, I said "nope, not interested" and dipped out.
Yeah what on earth was they thinking 😂
For me, I like to play solo. Its impossible now. Everything is a team experience. I didn't spend this much money on this stupid game for them to decide how I have to play to progress. Too grindy. Too tedious. Too much money wasted on a Raid-Dungeon based BS time sink. Been nice Destiny. You have ruined the game, and i dont have any more time or money to care
Plus they took away alot of my favorite places to go, If they remove the Dreaming City ....No reason for me to play , ever again.
Yep. Many warned them and expressed this same concern on forums and the streamers, UA-camrs and elites all responded with “get gud, don’t like it leave, it’s an MMO !! Etc etc “
Well well well.
@@rla9889 Couldn't agree more.
Destiny 2 was dead for me after noticing that Osiris was full of cheaters and Bungie never even tried to fix it
They don't fix trials because cheaters always have to make new accounts & buy the latest expansion.
(we had ITL, but that burst of creativity had a BIG ulterior motive, so...)
But then that goes away each year, so we're left with a game completely devastated by the content vault stuff, and absolutely no attempts at repairing it.

@orangejuice9396 And same. Back in D1, and for a few years in D2, I'd spend hours just goofing off in the playlists. No goal, no seasonal grind, it was just fun to do.

That's because it's the same from season to season, there's nothing new.
It isn’t that Bungie isn’t capable of churning out meaningful changes and adjustments…
It’s just that the way they do so is the epitome of “too little to late”, waiting months if not YEARS to finally get around to adding the things players _really want._
Recycled content also plays into our all feeling how we do and the all time low...
@@Maybeghostfacee I note that the content was previously purchased, later deleted, recycled and sold again.
Everything feels like such a grind. It's no fun. It's like being at work.
@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4 facts great point
Bungie deserves this. After throwing away all the lessons learned in D1, the increasingly greedy monetization, deleting content we paid for, increasingly lazy writing, etc. It's over, and they've no one to blame but themselves.
Destiny 3 would takes years, it’s far too late for that. As soon as marathon flops, Bungie will get shut down.
Nha don't think so, but sony would do something About it.

@ true, I’ve honestly been playing mostly older games too. Stalker 2 being the one newer game, Elden Ring awhile back.
I have not yet heard one single person say they are excited about marathon.
Facts
Im really excited..... To not play marathon.
cant be excited about something ive never seen gameplay of
This is so sad. This sounds exactly like gta v. R* keeps beating a dead man for 💰
Destint 2 players are much older than most gamers. That is also an issue. There is NO influx of young people who want to play (12-25) and would rather play other games. Also the game really does suck now.
Because the game sucks
It definitely needs new players but the onboarding is still bad.
I would agree.
If Marathon launches as a free to play game I would give a chance.
Marathon will be riddled full of cheaters because Bungie can’t or won’t address them ..
With the way they've handled destiny who would be dumb enough to buy anything they sell afterwards

It's goinc to happen again....
Game has gotten too complicated and boring.
Well said !
I absolutely agree. Redownloaded yesterday and I was absolutely lost 😅
@@kingdomquoted Ya those Final Shape missions were a drag on mess cant stand that damn Pale Heart area.
I'm already looking for a replacement for my Destiny play time. It's sad but gotta move on.

Try The First Descendant if you like Destiny
Ive replaced destiny 2 with Warframe 6 months ago and its been a blast

I will always have love for the game. When the game was at its lowest I’d still find ways to log in & do something but the past few weeks I’ve lost interest. I loaded up the other day & just sat in orbit.
If Marathon flops (which it will) then Bungie dies. They’ve just waisted too much money, lost too much staff and burned too many bridges.
We literally wouldn’t have these issues if bungie stopped ripping out content that we paid for in the past and also listened to player feedback
Many players on forums and twitter warned Bungie this would happen. Many casuals and solo players asked for more difficulty options & stop the forced multiplayer BS that require comms and raid lite mechanics (see the whole class exotic dual destiny debacle).
The streamers, youtubers and elites all responded to those posts with “STFU, Get Gud, don’t like it then leave, it’s an MMO you must play with others & do mechanics, get a mic & use lfg it’s not hard loser, etc etc”
The elites , streamers and UA-camrs ruined this game.
No one’s happy man, no one asked for garbage content and this. Bungie just sucks and is out of touch with everyone. Streamer or not
No dedicated PvP servers, no PvP leaderboard, no PvP incentive, awful anti cheat - better pve options with fromsoft games
Me and Rick Kackis will be here until the end
Our guardian releasing Eremis was the final nail in the coffin for me.
This, make it so that eido did its I had no desire to ever release her and it completely depleted any interest I had
We released her? I remember some cutscene about that, but every time I go to the jail, she's still there 🤔🤔
If we could actually make the decisions then Eremis would have been 6ft under back in beyond light
I remember whenever it was truly rewarding for you and your fireteam to get exotic now they're just giving them away like candy
Havent touched the game in over 4 months, got on to do a raid and the egos in this game is too much. Im so glad i moved to playing other games, d2 is so stressful in so many ways.
Bruh the amount of copium in this video is insane, Aztec said it best “when you have to make a guide for a mission and the guide needs to have a bug guide in it aswell isn’t it”
Aztec is trash.
Woohoo!!! We broke the record. Let's goooooooo! 🎉🥳
The game isn't fun to play therefore people play other more fun games
Agreed, I like “Bungie gave up on Destiny, so did I”
It really is that easy to understand. It feels like work not something I want to do because it’s fun.
Although no the same genre i just swapped to Marvel Rivals
Maybe Bungie should do a better job of creating an environment in which players will want to engage with. 😐
Just a thought…
I won’t support a D3 if it launches with D2 being in such a poor state. Only a gullible desperate fool would support D3 if D2 isn’t fixed.
Only if Sony 100% takes over the project. If bungie keeps it it will be worse than d2 vanilla.
@ I mean if you’re holding out for Sony you’ll be waiting forever. Sony is the greediest gaming company.
False , probably because you’ve played for ten years. I started last year and I love it and if d3 came out I’d be stoked
@ you are the minimal minority bud. Most players will not bother being scammed all over again. But please continue to simp and shill for a developer that gives zero phuqs about you.
@JQDeathFromAbove96 wow a "simp" lmao over a video game man yikes
I honestly feel like another reason why people stop play, at least some new comers, is that there’s just so much to do at the start of the game after you leave earth the first time and it can be really overwhelming. I played destiny 1 for a long time and I had never felt like that because of how the game would wait till you were a specific level to unlock some missions
2024 Dawning
RNG behind a RNG behind a RNG behind a RNG to farm weapons and emblems
Hearing Kackis have the most reasonable crashout over Destiny ever is like hearing something finally breathe in after holding their breath for too long
I'm tired of paying for content then it gets taken out of the game...
Crazy you must be really tired since they hasn’t happened since 2020 , seasonal content is called seasonal for a reason .
Bungie had to somehow reduce the amount of GB cause the consoles ran out of space.
@desktopbrowser9934
Yes and designing content to be removed in 12-4 months dosent exacly motivate to make good content.
From the COVID times when they had a record of over 2 million sales, to now.. Of having not even 60k players is shockingly low
We won't see any promises or increases in content until we see how Marathon goes. I'm baffled they've neglected Destiny this much but until we see what happens with Marathon we don't know what the future of Destiny will be
D2 needs new, fun game modes. They got no problem introducing new skins at stupid high prices. But a new game mode? Nah. Need new leadership.
I went from guardian to tenno, and I'll never look back.
Ive been saying it for years no one wants to endlessly grind for marginally better loot, we need fresh experiences that are fun to play, we need fresh enemies with new abilities that have evolved with ours, we need fresh compelling stories with consequences that push us to play.
Bungie's GREED killed this game a long time ago. We just hung on hoping for the best. Its been about 6 months since ive played, still no desire to.
Sunsetting and Beyond Light expansion did such damage to the community that even Kackis forgot it existed 😂
I think they more fucked up when decide to abandoned PvP for years, PvP it's constant online which be playing even if seasons are deep shit.
@Daemonic6 Don't forget the lack of in game hacker prevention. The hacker population has no right in being as high as it is for a AAA game.
@@IveBeenWithBruma Here need to say thanks Bungie that they decided to save money and implement P2P, cause this networking are unsecure, has problem with stability and even can easily be infected with virus.
So to find all of the cheaters(or even small part of them) need to spend just numerous time and resources.
They need new raids/dungeons/loot monthly new modes added on however that would mean 3 less luxury vehicles for their ceo so it’s a no-go
The reason the count is dropping is bc of the lack of crafting in new weapons, multiple ridiculous currencies, stupid potions, terrible seasonal activities, wasting players time, etc. I love the mechanics and play of the game, but Bungie is not appreciative of player time availability.
nope , even when crafting was there people dropped off, so its not that, people liked the rng and excitment of getting new rolls, also theres crafting this season, gadren raid weapons are craftable.
people just didnt like the rng to get an rng weapon, its too much rng. i agree with these dumb currencies and bad seasonal stuff,
no cool armor, everything is eververse, we should be able to earn those cool armor sets or finishers
That’s happening when (bad) marketing controls and conducts the game
@wredue3733 you told me I'm wrong but literally didn't say why I'm wrong. All you said was " disrespecting player time" which is literally a nothing burger. If you have actual points why I'm wrong I'll listen but my points are factual and from community polls . They are correct
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I love D1 and D2; but we need fresh ; and new content that doesn’t feel like reheated restaurant food . 😢
Destiny grind is too much for me it used to be where i can for few hours get off and like made great progress to the end game now it feel like second job and i just do not have enough time in day anymore for the level grind that is in game anymore. That why i been playing division 2 alot more
What they need is a area where solos can practice raid/dungeon mechanics so we could learn!
14:44 didn’t expect to hear how this age of gaming is over from this guy which is very true, yet the hope of Destiny 2 making a comeback makes me think he doesn’t believe it
The removal of craftable weapons just removed all motive for me to play the episodes. Im not going to grind for god rolls of mid guns.
Gotta be honest, Helldivers 2 has been scratching that space warrior killing aliens itch for me for about a year now and I’m never going back
They need to make matchmaking for raids and dungeons.
That's why your finding a lot of people going back to D1
@@davidwashington6180 playing d1 now, match making does take long
The ONLY gun that was worth chasing at all this season was the Stasis rocket sidearm (which I did begrudgingly.)
But every other Gun this season is mediocre or has a better alternate that exists already.
Honestly I’m just done with Destiny 2. I just want a good D1 PC port or total remaster
Destiny started dying After we killed the witness. I felt completed he was a 10 year big boss so when he died it was like what’s next…

B06 is the same recycled shit cod been feeding y'all for years
@ which game isn’t the the same recycled shit? Every big title game people play is just recycling old stuff but upgrading the graphics and controls.
@@casual_flex so is destiny 2 with its shit content. Your point?
Destiny is not COD. You're gonna go up against some abilities/supers lol and no, not "ability spam"
@@redandblack9819 every single engagement though? Come on. You have to admit it's kind of ridiculous.
