This is a great review. Simple and to the point. You've done a lot of kilometres in a short time. I'd be interested to hear any comments you have on any off road riding, if you have done any. I'm looking at replacing my 850 GS in the future and this bike is a great price with many included features. Thanks for the video

i agree what you say about the output power. Since the engine is based on the KTM 790 i dont understand why they detuned it for the CFmoto. The KTM has about 10 HP more aand about 10 Nm more. It would be nice they do that for the CFmoto. For the looks i also agree it is a very beautiful looking bike

Hello, thank you for the review. It helped me making my choice. Now that i have the MT800 I am disturbed by turbulance around my helmet. I have two things I want to adjust but I don't know where you bought your aftermarket windscreen. Can you help me with that.? Maybe I find a sister compagnie that will sent it to Belgium. I find the mappings a bit enoying but I will ask my cf dealer If he can get the software. The on-off feeling is bigger in the sport-modus. The rain modus seems to be better but than i have less power. So thank you again. Good video. Thumps up!

The ktm 790 has problems with the clutch, specifically with the oiljet clogging. Have you checked the part for clogging?

11,000 KM in two months is a fairly good amount of mileage in a short time. It would be good to know how it holds up over a couple of winters, being exposed to rain and cold, etc.

@enzo chicca, hey mate how did it go with the bike. I'm between this and the tenere 700. Would like any info on your thoughts.

    • @drchicca
      @drchicca 2 роки тому +7

@@twowheelnirvana hi. Depends on how challenging the off-road sections are that you intend to ride vs the road sections.
The Tenere can handle the more challenging offroad sections better and faster than the 800MT.
The 800MT will go most places the Tenere can, but at a slower pace as its suspension travel and ground clearance is less than the Tenere.
On road, the 800MT is much superior to the Tenere, has better electronic suite for performance/safety. More power, effortless cruising + cruise control, better wind management and protection.
The 800MT handling on the curves is also better than the Tenere. The suspension on the 800MT can also handle a pillion and luggage better the Tenere. Pillion Passenger comfort is better on the 800MT.
I guess you have to be honest about your off road capabilities, the type of off road work you are going to do and the pace at which you are going to do it.
      Tenere is a 50% offroad/50% road kind of bike. 800MT is a 25% off road/75% road.
I looked at both and chose the 800MT as I ride on road for 75% of the time.
Value for money, in Australia the 800MT is $14,490.00. The Tenere is $17,800.00.
So the Tenere is about $3,300.00 more expensive. Also Tenere does not have:
      -Cruise Control
      -Heated Grips
      -Heated Riders seat
      -Fog Lights
-2 modes, Rain & Road (Off-road mode is said to be added on in the next 12 months)
      -7” TFT Screen
      -Cornering ABS
      -Quick shifter (up/down)
      -6 axis IMU
      -Side Crash Bars
      -Centre Stand
      -Tyre Pressure monitors
      -On board computer
Etc etc, I’d hate to think what the Tenere would cost if up specced with all these features.
If you like a lively/sportier road performance, the 800MT is your bike. If you like a simpler, more linear powered off-road capable dirt bike, the Tenere is your choice.
To me, for my needs, the 800 MT was a clear winner.
(BTW, the 800MT is a sister bike to the Husqvarna Nordern 901).
      Hope this helps 😊

just got to ride my 2023 ... the only things i have a problem with is.. the quickshifter is terrifying..if your slowing to take a right..say 25mph in second, and you accidentally touch the shifter with your boot it lunges forward from the throttle blip because it thinks you wanted to downshift. it really hits the throttle, if your going at a slower speed and downshift clutchless it locks the rear tire... the quickshifter needs alot of refinement, i have disabled my QS because its terryifing and dangerous to be honest.. the last thing is the throttle 1500 to 5500 rpm the throttle us super touchy, very sketchy in a turn, if you hit a bump in a turn the throttle is so sensitive your arm moves and gives a very small input to the throttle...that if you dont watch what your doing you will lowside.. im going to make another throttle spring to try to stiffen the throttle and get a retune, it is super lean ..
