Rosen: I only have have 6 seconds left with no increment.
Us: Ya, but we just saw you make 40 moves in under 2 seconds
yeah. A whole King and Queen endgame with 1.5 s of time :D
When you pre move on lichess you don't lose time,
A tip: you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Forest Phillip yup, I have been watching on Flixzone for months myself :D
A subscriber questioned
"How do you know when sacrificing a Queen is necessary?"
Eric:"It's always necessary, unless it's a blunder".
Me: Gets doubled pawns. Loses in 15 moves.
Eric: Gets doubled pawns. Accidentally traps knight. Decides to triple them.
Doubled pawns are bad in an endgame but if you lose in 15 moves the stacked up pawns aren't to blame lol
19:18 You are literally insane, my guy.
BRO I JUST FINISHED WATCHING THAT PART THAT WAS LEGIT THE CRAZIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN
he turned on hyper-hyperbullet mode
_Instructive_
Clutch
Yeah whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut?!

This is literally me rn lol

DAH my grades
Oh No my grades !
19:21 was the most exciting finish to a chess game I've ever seen
19:00 Your time was barely moving Eric LOL Whenever I get into a situation like that my time just disappears. I have a long way to go before I become fast enough
Yeah i feel like his opponent should've paused because they were moving at a consistent rate, his opponent had a full 2 minutes if they switched up the timing it might've been a flag. Still really well played by Eric though.
18:47 to 19:18 not suitable for light hearted , small children and pregnant women
sir Eric, you are the most CALM person i've seen so far in CHESS WORLD.. i followed you since i saw your vids on youtube.. keep it coming idol.
That game ending @ 19:00 was adrenaline pumping. You're a savage.
Eric rosen- Wins a match with 40 moves in 1 sec.
Also eric in next match -loses with 2 rooks roller.
Damn that time scramble was something else
I see why you play on lichess now, ultra time scramble saves
It was a pleasure playing with you! I only wish you fell into my stalemate trap in that Scandinavian :)
which game?
@@rohungupta8435 I know this is reeeeally late but I think it took place near 35:00.
That clutch victory at .03 seconds was the best finish I've seen this year.
Longest second of my life and I wasn't even the one playing.
Respect for the time you put into these YT clips. Making it the easiest salt free learning apparatus. Thanks bro. I feel better at chess just watching. Have a great day and looking forward to getting better.
PS, really also respect your composed demeanor. Very watchable 😎👍
You should have a gm title, you deserve it.
How do you get gm just get a rating over 2600?
@@tvtrauma7024 2500 and other requirements
@@tvtrauma7024 No...you can get over 2600 by just playing lower rated players plus GM only applies to long format games, ‘classic’ chess. You have to achieve 3 GM ‘norms’. Norms are gained from recognised tournaments in which 3+ GMs are playing.

Okay thank you I am new to chess. (Week and a half)

Hey @ericrosen -- re: Chess State -- Eric Rosen day is amazing. The kids in your high school revered you as a hero and adulation from the girls. Chess wins after all!
Yeah, didn't know Eric was the best high school chess player in the country then. And yeah, he seemed to be the high school stud. Whodathunkit?
These videos are so rewatchable as a novice. I don't remember any of the games so it's just brand new cool lines every rewatch.
We made it this far, dude you’re videos are dominating my feed
“Opponent wants to mate me” bold strategy
18:32 excellent end game :d
Hey Rosen, I’ve learned so much watching you I’ve gained so much ELO watching your tactics videos and streams. I’d love to play you sometime.
I've gone from aprox 800 rating on lichess to 1500 rating in 3 months by watching Eric Rosen, Gothamchess and Hikaru + doing a little bit of the free chessable-stuff. It helps to know how to play ;)
@@Hazding at 800 the only way was up. You couldnt get any worse😂😂
@@robertodhiambo6328 Well, I pretty much only knew how the pieces moved and tried to just do whatever seemed logical. If the computer didn't tell me where to put my rook and king after castling, I wouldn't know. Now I play the stafford gambit beyond what people have memorized of "the refutation" and have some nice and tricky lines that I pull out against almost any opening I meet when I have white. The most important thing I've learned is that the way to beat weak players is to play something kind of dubious but aggressive, since most don't really know how to deal with it, and if they know how to deal with it, I'll just try to win a piece or a couple of pawns and trade of everything else to win. That's major progress in 3 months. There is also a special good feeling when the opponent resigns on move 3 or 4 because he tried to set up a opening he was prepared for and you just throw a wrench in their plans by playing a dubious move that changes his structure and only half the moves he know to do will work anymore. As an example: When I meet the scandinavian, I just transpose into Bird Opening: Williams Gambit on move 2. It's very dubious and pretty much just losing if you play against someone who knows what to do, but 1500-rated players who play the scandinavian know absolutely nothing about how to play this gambit.
17:38 jesus that was some clock management.
That first game was wild

Everybody: Dr. Bulbasaur
IM Eric Rosen: Dr. Bolesbar
He didn't take the queen there?
@@jaishkhan7442 The white Queen was moved there on move 3, and Eric put the knight on c6 on the same move. So, the Queen wasn't hanging.
51:16 yes I made this far :D
5:43 "I really have to pee." So that's why you're berserking so much. = )
I made it so far, accualy I watch every single longer videos because I use them as my asmr vids for sleeping. There is no better vids to enjoy good chess and such a calm voice :^)
13:33 Black could have played Rxd2+ and then win the c4 bishop....
"Let's focus... hocus pocus"
*yodelling intensifies*
That stalemate trick Brendan tried at the start was cool
You need to increase the overall video volume so that when an ad plays as I'm falling asleep it doesn't jolt me awake lol
You can download brave browser for mobile or your computer and it blocks UA-cam ads. I use it when watching videos and going to sleep lol. Small downside creators lose the ad revenue but I’m not losing sleep over a penny for them ;)
19:16 it is 6 AM and i literally let out a yell and woke my roommates up. what a finish.
I love when you post tourney vids!
51:17 "let me know if you made it this far" why, it's been only five minu...
i learned chess at like 9, we had a big board with each piece having what they do on them. made it super easy to learn
Sticking around! Right to the end. Thanks for the content
I'm ready to play my computer game, figure to just very quickly check youtube whilst the game is loading.
I see E.Rosen has uploaded.
Sometimes life gives us some difficult choices to make. :(
Do both at once
made it and I've been really enjoying and learning a lot of theory from you.
such an inspiration
This man’s content is too high quality, I can’t justify watching anything else
Eric thanks a lot for sharing the info about the Chess State documentry! Made me kinda re-live some of my own experiences in my country, highschool and university 2004-2013 :) We had something back then, but the organization was very far from what Illinois offered.
12:30 I was really hoping to see the intercontinental ballistic missile variation
did the GM rage quit after that loss? in the second game he is not in the standings.
nah he just fell out of top ten since he lost his first game
@@rosieredana Yes he did RQ. He wasn't anywhere to be found and the strength of the field was like, 1600 lol. Only person that even has a shot of beating him was Rosen and Rosen did
İ think he was the 2000 elo rating which beats Rosen from another acv
30 premoves in one second with mate. Eric is amazing at panic play
Two queens and two rooks isn't enough to mate. Gotta bring in the pawns.
I was watching this and you said "Is that a helicopter. Sounds like a helicopter." As a helicopter was flying over my house. Very trippy.
Eric is the only therapist I need!
18:45
GIVE ERIC A GM TITLE FOR THIS!!!!
Thats not difficult tho
I can do that and i am a noob
it's very basic
It may not be gm worthy but it is still incredibly impressive I don't believe many people lower than IM would be able to make such an awesome play
@@ZedExGaming thats very intuitive.
Oh Man I loveeeee your content ;) keep it up :)
19:00 that time scramble is amazing!
Great games!
Made it, I learn so much from these vids 👍❤️

Was the 1st position player Carlsen in disguise?..lol😂 didn't even lose a single game looks like...
19:23 hats off bro ur the greatest player I have ever seen 👏👏👏👏
Watch some Hikaru Nakamura bullet and come back. Eric is amazing but Hikaru is on another level
@@andrewxu2949 the end was sort of hyper bullet
Hi International Master Eric Rosen. I really enjoy your channel, and your manner, personal, and general approach to our great game. Some others here in NZ, prefer others, which is good, just like Who's the best chess player? Also Tactics or Positional Play? Anyway, I was wondering, as I have a UA-cam chess channel on a smaller scale, since 2016, what gear you use, especially that of Microphone? Please. Regards Dave Weegenaar Chch, New Zealand.
That game against Vogel is bananas
Spassky is still alive lol!
Doesn't that move loses material for Eric if the opponent had taken the knight with rook, then proceed to capture the c4 bishop?
In hoc signo orate means in this sign, speak. Probably an homage to the vision Constantine had before the battle of the milvian bridge. He saw a cross in the sky and heard "in hoc signo vinces." In this sign, conquer.
Of course I'm still watching. How could I not after witnessing that masterpiece against vogel?
19:30 was incredible
Brandon Jacobson beat Anish Giri in Titled Tuesday today. interesting coincidence to see him in the first game.
Hey Rosen, I've got a variant for you, chess but you're only allowed to capture with pawns, if you promote a pawn you can still capture with it
Eric you're such a nice person
5:43 damn you should've gone before the tournament started
Hope you keep doing this well eric
Eric “it’s gonna be tough to catch-up” Rosen
45:00 I am bummed now.. he forgot to tell us about that cool line
Lol, that was awesome!
Love you Eric!!!
Which site/app do you use to play these chess matches on?
It's nice that he avoided the ICBM variation of the Tennison gambit. Because, if he didn't, it would be a fatal mistake for him.
Oh no.. ah ah.. special effects from Eric 😜🤟😂
18:27 that's some premove magic lmaaooo

The title cuts out on mobile and it says surprise grandma
Everything for the clickbait ;-)
Can anyone give a link to the chess state he was talking about? I can’t find it on vimeo
Eric, do you have a video where you discuss the various declined lines of the Stafford - ie 3 nc3 (the Russian game?) or d3. Please do a video on these. You can still sort of pretend like they didn't decline, but the resulting positions are different.
His tea is like never finished lol
