Hikaru is the master of bullet chess because he knows how to improvise and survive with slightly worse positions. His knowledge of tactics and structures is so comprehensive that he basically knows how to play positions where the opponent, lacking a similar on-the-fly knowledge base, tends to be more inaccurate over the course of a game, giving Hikaru a slow but steady advantage in the end game. Hikaru is rightly called the king of defensive chess. Daniel Naroditsky is a top 150 player in the WORLD, and Hikaru just seems like he's on another level.
I'm so used to seeing Hikaru takes takes takes with the occasional wooden shield or of course the Kebab positional variation from his perspective. Now watching him play Daniel you know how brilliantly fast Hikaru is, top 6 in the world so it shouldn't be a surprise.

Daniel is playing all calmly, but I can imagine Hikaru head-bopping throughout the entire match... I checked Hikaru's video of this afterwards, and sure enough! Haha On that 9th game, it is insane that Hikaru knew he was going to lose only a few moves in after he accidentally castled.

Daniel literally went: "woops, missclick, meant to castle queenside" and casually moved his king 5 times :D
Yeah, it's a high level idea that one might come up with giving enough time, but "these guys" recognize immediately that there's no good way to break open the queen side and that the king side is about to get blown apart, so they run the king to safety and focus all the play on the other side of the board. There's a nice game that Ding Liren won against Magnus with the same idea- www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1981186

Dude, they are playing literally with 1 minute, yea, they are gm, but they are human
@@oggoD22 I totally understand that, it was just out of legitimate curiosity.
@@oggoD22 no one disputed this
@@user-cr7kf7st1x the sense of the guy's comment is to find a good reason for an apparent bad move, so, yea, my comment make perfect sense in a good contest, don't trashtalk for no reason, ty.
The world Top 5 in Bullet:

That 1 checkmate was sweet 🧁🎂 🍭🍬😂
"Totally winning" against Hikaru usually means losing.
Don't feel bad, NONE of us can beat him.
Hikaru compensated for getting Demolished By Danya’s bot
Here is hikaru's POV if you were wondering were to find it ua-cam.com/video/DhmaQH-8Wbo/v-deo.html
14:17 A thing of beauty wow
Most of the time danya had a good position, but could not capitalize because hikaru defended well but hikaru capitalized everytime danya blundered and punished all his inaccuracies.
What was the blunder at 6:10?
If you defend the rook with the queen white still takes the rook with a queen and forks with Nd7
Rook is pinned
hikaru pinned his rook to the king. queen cannot defend it because of knight e8
@@giorgosivi4121 Ah nice! Thank you! Didn't see Ne8!
Ne8 Re2 ggyo. The move Danya missed after Qc7 was Nd7 check!
In 0:53 wasn't knight to h5 a bulnder wich you take the queen with the bishop+check ??then black is a big ! Did i miss something?
You did missed something. If the white bishop captures the black queen, the black knight would take back the white queen. Oh, wouldn’t you be up a material after you capture the black knight? Wrong! The black rook would just take back the white bishop at d8. Black would be winning in that position.
@@MTLQ06i was drunk or smtg , taking will lead to a worst position for white especially he lacks a bishop
Discovered check?
Was Daniel playing a new chess engine?
