15:54 When you see mate in 1, look for better.
I remember this same thing from Levy. He saw mate in 1 in the opponent's corner with the Anastasia mate and decided to mate in 6 instead. Hilarious.
i thought i was crazy for a second
and looks like he just didnt see it lol he thought the king could run when someone pointed it out but the knight was on d7 lol
Qb7 was mate in 1
@@korndoguwu Yes
@@swer9112 he thought they were referring to 21 Qb7. That’s why he was talking about the king running. But 20 Qb7 is indeed mate.
15:56 "It's really close to mate"
If he only knew how close.
a very rare miss by him but I was like wth am I missing here hahah
@@hockey4wings Eric Rosen would beat me 7 days a week in his sleep, blindfolded with his arms tied behind his back. That fact only makes me enjoy those extremely rare times where I see something that he didn't all the more.
i was just gonna scroll through the comments to see if i'm dumb or something.
Qb7 was mate probably
@@AdrenalineLegends most likely
The final part when Eric says "chat, say hi to youtube", then the chat explodes with "hi youtube" feels like kindergarten.

Isn’t 15:56 it mate in one?
@@ceoherohub2584 Yes he missed mate, he may have been going for something cooler... who knows with Eric
I wouldn't expect a chess player to know this, but I suspect that building a real castle is harder work. :D

Definitely missed mate in one. He saw the king running away, thru the knight!
"Everyone is declining the stafford gambit today"
Well, they probably read the name and didn't want the "Oh, there is a funny line, I'll put my rook on f3 and if he takes it's forced mate in 11 thanks to my snake on j12".
thank you, i was having a weird day and your comment made me smile :)

nice.
Yes, at 15:57 there was mate in 1.
Bur clearly, what he did was just better than mate
Dude I was so confused
Since I'm always watching in the future, I know that FCO stands for "Future Chess Openings"
Is so good to hear Eric saying "there is a cool line"
"....mmm that was, a passive aggressive sound...." lmao I love the Eric and Alexa interactions

16:01 misses mate in 1
Free piece after 16. g4 @ 1:18:40. Very nicely played though Eric, thanks for the content!

Love watching your super chill and informative videos Eric. Merry Christmas to you and your family buddy!
When you are 1200 and you see the move, but Eric doesn't. For everything else, there is a credit card.
very educational, great content and relaxing voice! subscribed
Does no one tell Eric to go back and look at the mate in one?!? It's driving me crazy.
Me watching the video at 4AM, then Rosen says sleep is important, don't stay up all night...
Saw the whole on twitch. Congrats man. Way to goooo
"Maybe the pizza delivery man arrived.. gotta find a tip to give them..." HAHA
Eric, architect here (who frequents St. Louis homes): if you're having issues silencing your HVAC, there are some liners that you can get. Also, sometimes the unit is overpressurized, which is an issue of improperly sized ducts or grilles. Try changing the grille first--even leaving it off--to test and see if it reduces the noise.
Well done for winning the tournament. I love it when you a very strong player! The last game was definitely “Stafford Gambit destroyed” though 😂
Nice! I enjoy your teachings.
i can't believe i just watched all of this in one go. congrats Eric
14:07 - Can't believe eric Missed two simple moves in the same game, first the knight at H5 & then Mate in 1 !!
Eric you’re the best, love every single video
When Eric say 'oh, no my rook' he smiles and then there is a funny twist of it, and often he follow up with there's a cool line....
When I say 'oh, no my rook' the rook is swept away and there is nothing funny at all about it....
thanks for the content eric its very much appreciated :))
15:57 mate with QB7 no?
Yes, but what he did was better than mate.
@@ASDOrphan No it wasn't. Regardless of how pretty or thematic his mate was you need to be mating as quick as possible in arena so you can squeeze more games in. That wasn't on purpose, he just straight up missed mate in 1.

15:54 mate in b7
"Alexa, how do I know that isn't a lie?"
Yes, punish the blunder. 🤣
15:56 Qb7# 🤔
At first glance 19:25 the bishop isn't trapped. Opponent had Nd5 with a discovered attack the queen and blocking the bishop pin 💫. Fun.
Bravo ! Great Match.!
Insane win!
If Eric had played mate in 1at 15:54 he wouldn't have castled with check bringing his rook into the attack and Morphy would be displeased
In arena you should be mating quick. He just missed it, definitely wasn't on purpose.
Moments that made me laugh
6:00 .. Ohh the bishop moves backwards
11:29 .. Kiss of death(darling in the franxx)
15: 56 ... Mate in 1 missed 😂he said almost mate
Why this man’s videos are awesome
Idk if someone already told you but at 15:57 it's mate in 1 Qb2 is mate.
Rosen is the best guy to watch to get better! His endgame is too complex for me but I've improved my rating just watching his openings and piece development. I'm 14-1 my last 15 games!
Holy crap you knew about Amazon Influencers since 2 years ago!!! Good stuff!
Eric positive mental attitude keep it up
Hello twitch chat and what a great video! We want more aggressive gameplay!:)
In my imagination Eric is living in a Black-painted flat, talking to alexa and searches for Openings wwith obscure names.... I like it!
Merry captures, one and all!

@@LeventK That's not a captures :(
My Alexa answered you but yours failed, I'm going to have to change my wake up word when watching your videos lol
You motivate me to play chess!!!!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!
What’s nice about watching experienced players do chess, is they can move and know how the other person will respond ~ calculation is possible.
Granted when playing lower level players, they do random moves and they’re easier to beat but it’s sporadic and frazzled
Your skills premoving are almost world class. Dirty flag it may be but where all of your other considerable resources fail, it works for you!
on 1:2941 I usually do the king d2 move instead of e2 to not allow any shenanigan like checks or tricks
Everytime I watch these videos you set off my Alexa.
It's really cool how quickly you saw the unusual mate in 3 at 24:00
and missed the mate in 1 somehow at 16 lol
My Alexa goes crazy answering your Alexa questions while watching your videos... lol 😂
Someone should call an ambulance, but not for me.

9:53 take the knight, this is a beginner tactic that wins a piece
I love the long videos
Is stafford playable in slow chess? I’ve been playing it in blitz but don’t know how well it would work in longer time controls.
Which Echo/Alexa device do you have/recommend? Love your content, you seem like such a nice person!
i really love your videos;)
It's awesome to see Chessnetwork quotes on lichess tournament pages.
Hey Eric I tried the new trap after white plays D4 and you pre-move the knight and then white loses a queen. Its funny and it works, thanks!
Ohhh tea recommendations
saw the live stream and now watching it on youtube as well.

19:30 is Nd5 just completely winning for black? i might be wrong and i'm too lazy to check with an engine.
15:53 you absolutely HUMILIATED the opponent on this game
Glad I stayed to the end.
Ok if black does not have this pawn , this pawn , this pawn , and this pawn it would have been stalemate . Very deep thinking rosen sir😃😃
