Thanks Adam! Was so inspiring to see your home crags and to see how hard some of your boulders and routes are first hand, even as someone who’s not climbing V16 haha.
Of a generally very likeable bunch, Jana has to be one of the nicest climbers/personalities out there. What a gem. Oh and Josh is alright too, I suppose
Watching her progress for a while and she will most definitely send it eventually! So happy that we Czechs have another crazy talent - her. Just like Adam. She is not yet that well known but I would imagine that once she sends it she will go on a rampage to the rest of the world. Thanks for documenting this!
@@althejazzman with Adam and Jana I have no clue... but in general czech has pretty hardcore tranditional sandstone climbing and has alot of regions rich with climbing. That said Adam is an absolute miracle 😁. Bless him and Jana's future ascents
Jana is so strong and seems to be a very nice person. Impressive stuff. Thanks, Josh, for highlighting her in your videos. I think more people should know her. And it's also impressive how you try these problems repeatedly and don't give up quickly.
It happens to me very often. I see someone climb a boulder and I think it looks nice and easy I could do it, BUT when I tried I realized I have no chance :) Jana is beast. Josh is good as well (he did 7B which Jana didn't)
This might be one of my favourite videos of a HARD climb released Seeing a mere mortal (who is already stronger than me) on a climb makes it clear just how obscenely hard it actually is. If you only see pros on something then you never realise how hard it actually is. (That being said my gym set a replica of BOD at 20degrees, and I could just about establish on it when I was feeling at my peak, there was no way I could make a move on it at that’s at half the steepness)
@@5tr4nge75 I was on Hangar in Ostrava where they both climbed some boulders (previous video) and they both climbed really hard boulders, so I have pretty imagination how hard climb they are capable of
@JoshRundle thanks for the video. So inspiring watching Jana's commitment, falling, taking rest and keep going with focus ahead. Such a strong human being!!!
@larslooijenga I wish there was a better way to show through video how insanely difficult the climbs are that these top pros are making look so easy, the Josh Reference (tm) is a good start, but Josh is already way better than the average climber
@coquiclimbingholds the homewall was my fav part of the video. I see a lot of people doing homewall videos but I love all the details that went into to this one. Your videos help me a lot. Keep up the great work.
Runge looks great and I'd actually love to get myself shorts from them but damn is it expensive. I can justify the chalk though, plan to get some on my next refill
@mheyrman It’s scary how she makes the replica look like your average project on the spray wall, knowing how small the holds are and how bad the feet look. Eagerly waiting to hear about the send.
What did we learn from the end of this video. The boulders in Adam Ondras gym are sandy sandy bags. Projecting 8c+ / 9a , warming up on 8b , but really trying hard on multiple attempts on 7b
@captainoflogic Loving the videos and very excited to learn about Jana and see her methodology. Really neat to see an outdoor boulder transferred to an indoor wall.
What a lovely personality Jana has! 😍 This video is a classic one which shows how different physiques and styles make such a huge difference when climbing routes! Jana is short and light and projects a very crimpy route with small holds, which suits her physique and lightweight body with strong crimps, but has issue with reachy and slopy powerful holds, which suits josh who is a very tall climber much better. Therefore saying Jana is one of the absolute top strongest female climbers could therefore be so wrong when she has issues sending a for all means hard 7b slopy boulder which is not her style, even though she obviously seems very tired and would gain from some rest, while any top world cup female climber would prbably quite easily send that hard 7b boulder. Spending years on one 8c+ boulders doesn't make you the best even though no female has sent it, because so many would probably send it if they would also spend years on it. Meaning, experienced climbers know all these facts, so when making videos, it's also important to be fair to the common public when announcing people such as the wonderful and strong jana or will bosi as the strongest climbers just because they fit into a very specific certain style and spend houndreds of hours projecting the hardest boulders. Will bosi had his chance in world cups were he never became among the most top climbers in the world, because there you would need to be a much more all around climber. So please, I start seing this more and more on youtube just to make people watch, that this or that person is the stongest and best and etc. There is so much more in that, more than even many experienced climbers even understand themselves. Climbing is not like tennis or fotboll where you always have the same field with the same rules. Every boulder and style is setting a new rule, making the sport extremely diverse. In my opinion, adam ondra and janja is the best climbers ever. Ondra because he masters so many disciplines at the absolute highest level in the world, being one of the absolute best boulder and sport climber both indoor and outdoor of all time, at the same time as he does trad, dws, free soloing, building climbing, and so much more. All that is left for him, is tree climbing 😅 Who can ever match that...
I tried to pull on to that blue 7b last time I was there. I could hold the undercling at the start but that was it. It's a way harder Boulder than it looks. I did flash that juggy red Boulder to the right though 🤣
I'm not on Instagram but would love to be considered anyways! New climber here, the obsession is definitely starting 😅 Thanks from Virginia, United States!
@memoirsofapunter Very possibly it will get confirmed adam was actually the first person to boulder 9a, years and years ahead of anyone else. Savage for jackob 😅
@martinlynghansen2007 Amazing video. Lovely to see you showing some of the strong female climbers as well. Jana is strong, I would be happy to even come near that level!
It is great fun but be patient in the beginning and take your time. For Most people Outdoor feels much Harder cause the Beta isnt as clear and you dont have colorfull holds.
Cool video from all my favorite climbing spots and crag. Jana is making great progress on Terranova! Keep crushing.

I love that you're highlighting strong female climbers. We need to see more amazing women in this community
Her personality is V18 at least. What a nice human being!

I'm rooting for her both on this and excalibur. She's got a youtube channel and it's a joy to watch.

That's what makes Josh such a good reference. He's better than most people watching this and he still struggles to do even a single move.

Sad you didn't post it sooner. The routes in Hangar you climbed are reset now.
I very rarely watch a video and then visit the same gym before a reset. Videos take time to edit. Resets are frequent!

As a 6c/7a climber, I don't see Ondra climbing and think "that looks easy". I see the climb and think "could I hold on, in any single position?"
Same
Every time she popped off the wall I could feel it in my fingers. Super strong and the mindset it great. Get it Jana!
@augthedog28
jana's body tension is so impressive, taking that shoulder move on terranova with so little swing takes serious control
