I originally had "The Trooper" by Steve Harris/Iron Maiden at number 15, but apparently my cover was so accurate that UA-cam thought it was the original recording and demonetized the entire video 🤣

Hello from the USA! Wanted to throw my hat into the ring. Just back from visiting my grandchildren for the first time in a year and a half. (COVID) Played some of your music for my grandchildren. My sweet ginger-haired six year old grandson was mesmerized by your “medieval” tuned composition. He would be blown away with your gift. I would love to encourage his love for real music. I’m happy to send a pic of my little dude, if you wish! Win or lose, please know how much I appreciate your talent. Be well!
Next video: Red Hot Chill Pepers - Around The World.

I'm from Australia, and honestly, I really love reading through and getting to know everyone's reasons and interest in music and bass guitar! What an awesome comments section ;) I'm currently learning the guitar, but I also really love the sound of bass guitars, so groovy. Definitely aiming to learn a few instruments and music theory in my life
Country : Indonesia 🇮🇩
Reason : My Father is the bass player in the Church for 15 years, but he never has a bass on his own until now because he doesn't have enough money to buy that expensive bass, he prefers to pay our tuition fee instead of his hobby, so i want to give this bass to him as my present, and also continue my bass learn from him.
Terimakasih (Thanks in Indonesia language)
Your technique may be the cleanest I've ever heard, even at faster tempos where some of the supposed professionals fall apart a bit. Just incredible playing. Keep up the great work
Charlie is the Pro. Never forget that.
Country: Russia
Reason: My father was a bassist in his youth, and recently I found his old bass, but it was broken. He showed me some old recordings, and it really made me want to play bass!
Hi Charles (I'm Charles too !)
I'm from France. I actually don't want to start learning bass from scratch, as I used to play in my highschool band a long while ago. I can't anymore but I dream of being able to.
It's unlikely that I'll win, but I'm very grateful that you opened the giveaway to unskilled beginners or people that don't have an instrument. The winner will be so happy, well done !
For anyone who's curious, here is a video of my highschool band back in 2006-2007 !

I am thrilled you played "Ramble On", one of the very bass lines I've always loved and that made me begin bass in the very first place ! Not often mentioned, but so great ! I'd love to see you play Led Zeppelin's "What is and What Should never be", which is every bit as good !
Love ur channel, keep going man !
Country: Canada
Reason: I had to play bass recently in school. I loved it, always wanted one. Never owned one. I'm heading off to uni in the fall and really want to learn more, but I don't have much in the money department.
I’m in the USA and I want to play bass solely because listening to you makes me want to learn!
I live in the USA and I am 12 years old. I would LOVE this bass because I love watching your videos and it just makes me want to slap that bass just like you do. I look up to you and that is why I would want that beginner bass guitar. 🤘
# TAPPING GOD AND BASS GOD
Country: US
Reason: I've been playing guitar for years and years and have been hitting the point where I want to start exploring other instruments beyond just messing around with them. The electric bass (thanks to your videos!) has me excited to dive into bass the same way I did with guitar and relive the magic of learning a new instrument all over again.
Country: United States
Reason: I've never liked stringed instruments in my life, and though I was fine with typical stringed instruments in a symphony orchestra like violin, cello, etc., I was never into the sound of guitar/bass at all. After watching Davie's video where you were introduced to me, I was at first intrigued by the sheer skill with all the techniques despite my lack of knowledge regarding bass. After I started following your videos, I realized that bass can be an awesome instrument that sounds beautiful, which also helped me to appreciate guitars more (I have added composers' guitar sonatas to my classical playlist since). Though I'm mainly a classical listener, I got to know of awesome bassists like Victor Wooten and Michael Manring through you. I play piano, but bass is definitely something I would now love to get into, though I'm not sure how good I can get when I'm already 20 years old :/. Nonetheless, I'll continue to enjoy your videos Charles, thanks for opening up the world of bass to me.
Country: Wales (UK)
Reason: My family were given this really bad and poor quality second hand bass from a friend, and I've been trying to use it and play but it's been a struggle. I have been making music with friends and it's made me super invested in learning bass but it's a struggle with my bad bass, which is so broken it cant connect to an amp and because my family is in a pretty bad financial state we cant fix it right now, and youtubers like you and other bass youtuber have been an inspiration to keep at it. Anyway, appreciate the work you do on the channel.
I hope you win it :) wish you luck for it!!

So, I had a friend share your video the other day with you playing Californication. I was blown away by it. Your abilities are off the charts and your mind for it too, it just brought me back to when I played bass. I always wanted to play and for my 13th birthday my mother took me to a pawn shop to buy a bass. A four string sunset casino, I loved it. The feel, the sounds, and the joy I got playing it. Well, many years later, I'm 28, and I haven't played a bass in years on years. Watching the Billboarr Music Awards with my girlfriend off recording and here comes Duran Duran to play, for whatever reason they made me want to play bass, just the groves in their music always hit me, and it was the bass, I had to play. Well I told my girlfriend that story and this was already after I saw your amazing video and many more when I went down the rabbit hole. Now all I keep coming back to is what are the chances? I see your video, your giving away a bass, and then later on I'm watching my TV and the band that inspired me to ever pick up a bass in the first place is on, it's crazy to me. But, I finally got the courage to just write it all out, because it just doesn't happen like that always.
Thank you for reading and thank you for the consideration.
Country: Argentina
Reason: I simply love the sound of the bass, that low or deep sound. Since I started listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers I love this instrument, the way flea gives it a lot of protagonism and a more important role in the band. My family can't really afford a bass and the one I currently own isn't in a very good condition. Love your channel by the way, keep up with the good work.

Reason: Bass is always something that has intrigued me. I find it very interesting to find new ways in approaching stringed instruments, and/or how my current approaches to music and guitar fares with bass. Unfortunately I’m only 16 with no money, so I cant get bass :((
I’m going to keep commenting on this, so that you can get this bass

Hey Charles I just started paying bass 7 months ago I started seeing your videos and i thought: woow this instrument is so damn cool I got my first bass on my birthday and I've been playing every day just to be like you i want a bass coming for you and even with your signature!, it will be so cool!, I live in Colombia!

Im 31 and been a guitar player since 11
I started playing bass 3 years ago cause ive found that a single bass note has THE power to change THE feeling of THE entire song and THAT is amazing, it hits different
Much love from Rio de Janeiro- Brasil 🇧🇷!
Hi, I’m from Mexico, the reason I want to play bass is because it has been my only way to deal with the stress of everyday life that occurs in my country and in my house. I know that this may sound like a cliche but actually, to play the bass for me is feeling like I can express myself in a different way than words and actions, and well, in a certain way, calm myself. I’m not saying that it is some kind of a coping mechanism, but I think that certainly playing bass has made me realize that when you do what you like, what you’re passionate about, you do find your true self, and it helps you to make decisions easier because you now know who you really are. In that sense, I think that having this bass will help me to start being able to play in my house:). Thanks for reading
The isolation of the bass really gives the sense of the flow and feel of each of these songs. Much appreciated for putting this together! 🫀🫀
Country : Indonesia
Reason : I love bass,, but I wasn't able to buy because the price is too expensive, so I hope to have it and learn so that it can be like you
I realize that I'm almost a year late on this video, but some of my favorite Bass Lines from songs are "The Chain" Fleetwood Mac, but I've heard Lindsey Buckingham in a HUGE blocker of all his music he wrote; also most of the songs on Forhat's album Fool for the City
Country: Netherlands. During the pandemic I've tried to pick up guitar again, but wasn't really able to play (newborn with a bad sleeping habit and everybody at home 100% of the time). A BASS wouldn't be less LOUD, but wachting all those bass videos on YT makes me want to add some groove to my life! Consider me a guitar-to-bass convert, even though I haven't touched one in my life. I'll solve the problem of complaining housemates later.
Country: US
-the bass makes me want to spend countless hours practicing, and playing to achieve something far beyond people limit me to! It seems that the problem is a bass is way too expensive for my overwhelming desires.
Country: Brazil
Reason: It's a perfect gift for my father, because he used to play bass in church when he was young, but he couldn't afford one (it was borrowed from the church), so he can play bass once again, and play together with me (I play guitar). Also I can start learning bass 🙂
"Yo wassup Charles"

Epico
Russia!
I've purchased a cheap bass from my friend and there's a whole lot of things that I just can't do there (no idea if it's because of the instrument or my hands). I recently realized that a proper bass line is what basically shaped my taste in music, back in 1997. Boy bands were on their peak, and the bass is what make the «Five» so different from the Backstreet boys of N'Sync. Yeah, we didn't have much rock to listen to back in those days - the cassettes were rare and of crappy quality, and the internet was a few years away.
Really enjoyed the video. Definitely wanted more of La Villa Stragiato! When will we see part 2? By the way, you’ve also clearly shown that as long as there are not obvious/significant defects with the instrument and it’s setup sufficiently, it’s not the bass, it’s the player.
You were definately the coolest kid in school.
Haha yes probably
@@trainsareepiv wrong all bassist never get attention (minus a few)
John Paul Jones: The Lemon Song - I still have not heard this mentioned in a "best bass lines" video and it really should be. just once!
I’ve been trying to learn the lemon song for about a month. The main riff is not that difficult, but the fills/ solos that JPJ does just drive me up the wall with how difficult they are.
So glad to see that there are more people that understand the importance of Jon Paul Jones
I agree! I tell so many people the best John Paul Jones bass song is The Lemon song but never see it on countdowns. It’s so good!
@@dovlewisgelbard JPJ is in the Pantheon of Bass Gods for sure. Not just because of his ability to shred, but serving the song and tastefully picking his spots. As a multi-instrumentalist, he’s truly a great musician. Unfortunately, he operated mostly in the shadows of Plant, Page, and Bonzo to an extent, but without his contributions, LZ isn’t LZ. A humble man and one of the all time greats!
@@mtlbstrd very true, i agree with every single point you made. Very well put too

Reason: I’ve been playing guitar for 15+ years and have been wanting to play the bass for over 10 years. I’m always trying to convince my friends to learn the bass so that they accompany me. I’m realizing I now need to be the one to accompany myself. I’m also excited to learn bass because I’m hearing impaired but have better hearing in the bass ranges than in the mids. I want to thicken my whole sound and broaden my horizons for creativity in creating music. I think learning bass will help me accomplish that goal!

"I'll tell you more about how you can win, this bass Laytar"
-Greenland
-Cuz i'm inspired by youtube to play bass
I don't understand this comment can you explain please?
@@caminoabsoluto4865 Laytar is a favorite bassist of this channel (and for good reason) and won the last bass giveaway by having the best solo. Kristian was poking fun that if it was another competition, she'd probably win another bass. See here: ua-cam.com/video/IN0cg1HBVoY/v-deo.html
Now I understand thanks for the explanation, I'm a big fan of Laytar
It sounded like he said ‘Laytar’ when he said ‘Later’.. And yes, Laytar won the schecter bass in the last competition

I played the cello for years through public school and since graduating I haven’t had the chance to continue playing music with any instrument. Think BASS sounds great and I love the techniques and tone that make it unique as an instrument.

YYZ is the most impressive one. Geddy Lee is insaneeeeeeeeeeeee man. Good luck to all the beginners out there trying to get that gorgeous bass.
Australia. I've heard so many songs with cool bass, and my school band needs a bass player so I'd like to start learning.
Same! I started playing bass because my school needed a bass player as well. Like, all I can say if you do get the bass is it takes a lot of practice.
47 years old, never played any instrument, but Want to start after seeing your videos on UA-cam here in Sweden : )
Guitarist that really needs some bass in their life, UK
Sidenote: Would love to learn and recommend Confessions of Pop group by The Style Council, the bass in that is immense

Reason: Digging the colour combo of that bass.
I can’t believe no one suggested “Beyond The Rift”!
I too really like it
Hello, I'm from Indonesia 🇮🇩
I really want to have a bass because I want to learn this beautiful instrument more and more. I'm still a beginner and I started to play bass since about 3 years ago, but due to the school schedule, I stopped yo play bass for a while (I think it's a long time around 1-2 years). Now, I started to practice again. Because I don't have a bass, so I practiced with my father's nylon guitar. And to have a bass sound, I like to put a tissue on it or play bass in electronic piano. I've stopped to play music for about a year and I felt empty. Nowdays, I started to play music instrument again and it makes me happier. If I win that bass, it'll gonna help me a lot because I can practise to play a real bass (not only with guitar) because it's different to play eith real bass and a guitar (sound, length, and more). Before the pandemic came, I like to borrow a bass from my school. So, that's my reason. By the way, I try to make a cover of Wavin' Flag-K'Nan, I hope you van see it and give me suggestion so I can improve and do better, thanks and have a good day..😁
Edit: there're some typo, so i fix it.

This bass isn't actually for me, it's for my dad, he plays bass, but has a bad quality one, he does this for me, because he knows i love music, and wants to play with me, so if i win this it's gonna be his bass in a way to thank him for everything ;)
I was gonna enter, but after seeing this I don’t wanna hurt your chances! Good luck!

I've played music for most of my life starting with the piano when I was about 4 years old and moving on to percussion all through middle school and high school and picking up guitar along the way. In college I studied engineering and every semester that I took a music for non-majors class I aced all of my engineering coursework. For me, learning and playing music seems to be something that helps me to be my best self. Unfortunately, once I started my professional career, got married, had kids... music has really just fallen by the wayside. Finding your channel has inspired me to pick up music once again and I think this time I'd like to try bass and really strive to learn and practice but also to enjoy the journey of learning and playing music once again because when I'm playing and learning music, I think it helps me to be a better father, husband, and employee. Cheers!

I love bass guitar since as long as i can remember. I enrolled in bass guitar lessons but dont own a bass, was not able to practice. Stopped the lessons and started reading and watching videos about bass guitar. Been saving to buy but till now sadly saved about 20% of its cost. Full-time employee, father of a sweet daughter, lots of commitments. Saving the full cost of a bass and an amp will seem like around 1-2 years savings. Besides, blue is really my favorite color :) cheers to u!
From Philippines,
I strted playing bass when i was 15 and enjoyed the basslines of the 80’s music ( new wave) along the way a friend of mine ( which i teach the basic notes of the bass) lend my bass (my first and favorite one, as it is given to me by my late sister as a christmas gift) and i didnt see him eversince :(.... now im playing with my generic bass( the one on my channel) my former bass guitar looks like that bass and im kinda remembering the day that my sister gave me the receipt and ask me to go to rj guitar and ask for the item in the receipt.... ohhh those were some memories 🥰🥰🥰
