Your videos have been very helpful as I start learning ASL. Thanks. Right now I'm enjoying trying to recognize the signs you use to introduce a concept. --like "again", "show", "practice", etc. You use different fill-in sentences to explain what you are signing. I would appreciate a video devoted to teaching the several signs you use. "same", "looks like", "something", "if", "commonly", "think", "notice", "that", "hope", "during", "also", "discard", "maybe", "mean", "know", "say", "so", "often", to name a few.
Hi Barb, thank you for this thoughtful comment! What a great suggestion. I love that you worked to notice these on your own - that's a great way to pick up new signs. Thanks for this list - I'll add it for future recordings!
I'm a sign language Interpreter (y certified due to cost) but I've been signing for over 45 years since I was seven years old. However, due to some medical challenges, COVID, moving and some other things it's been a few years since I've been active in the Deaf community and my receptive skills are lacking. Guess I need to work on that, however, you were easy to understand. I'm currently teaching my family sign language for my grandsons sake. He has DS and is non verbal, so he depends heavily on sign language which my late daughter and I started using with him from birth. I'm hoping I can get them to learn.
Ms Meredith thank you for your videos, i enjoy and learn from you. From ABC's to compound words to sentences. Keep smiling and keep helping people like me. Like i tell people, how can you get your blessings if you can't be a blessing to someone else.. And i mean it... Your spirit can testify.. So thank you....thank you
Through your tips for home study page linked in the description, and from there the section of Online Lessons-- The "Signed with Heart's Fingerspelling 101 Course" link is dead :( and The "Teach Me ASL" link is also down (their website expired). Fortunately the rest of the links on that webpage work!! (I just checked them all) It's important to check links to stuff every now and again! Like, take my American History I course I had to take as part of early college a while pack; half of the links my teacher had on moodle were all dead! Which makes sense considering he made the moodle page like several several years ago and had been using the same set up with minimal editing since. - I really like your videos! They are concise, easy to follow, and you were one of the first channels I stumbled into that had videos on sign, but your videos I liked best because of the formatting. In my super senior seminar course one of the teachers has doing a little bit of sign! Which, since I have very firm plans to become a math teacher (or something similar), is very relevant to my interests. I want to be able to have a conversation with any of my potential future students!
Hi Will, thanks for the update on the links! Funny - I did check them last week before making this video; the fingerspelling one DID work at the time (odd that now it doesn't! Perhaps they needed to renew at the new year. Here's the actual link: signedwithheart.teachable.com/p/fingerspelling101 which I'll update on my page. The Teach Me ASL being down, I hoped it was temporary. But alas I'll have to update the page anyway! Thank you for checking all of them! I hope you found at least one that interests you :) so great that you're learning!
I just wanted to thank you for how helpful your videos are. I especially love how you do the signs from every angle and how you explain the different variations of the signs etc...If I had to recommend a channel to learn ASL it would be your channel. Happy New Year, Meredith! 😁
Hi Catherine, thank you for the kind comment and encouraging feedback! I'm so glad you find these videos and my teaching methods helpful for learning. Happy new year to you, too :)
I took one sign language course back in college, it was my favorite class. I lost a lot of what I learned because I don't have anyone to practice with. I'm gonna try to get back into.
If this is how 2022 starts off It'll be an awesome year Of course I really enjoy your videos You're still the only one I go to for trying to learn ASL ^_^
I am so happy for learning ASL with you. I don't know how the level of fluency works but I do know that I am understanding more and more of your videos without the CC. May you have a wonderful year!
@@airama.9966 That's a great way to gut-check your improvement! Watch my vlogs -- and other signers' vlogs, as well as Deaf news programs or other online productions -- to see how much you can understand without peeking at captions yet. Then use captions to fill in any gaps and learn new signs :) Keep up the great work !!

how to say jealousy in asl???
Even though in reality we all know that this was probably one of the most. Slowest. Years lol
"The days are long, but the years are short" -- describes some portions of this well ! (I believe that's a Gretchen Rubin quote)
