  • I have found a lot of RV people do not like the convection oven the comes with the RV. I have also found a lot of people love it! Today I show you how simple it is to cook a meal in the convection oven. Five minutes prep time and 45 mins later it is done and delicious!
    Sorry about the moustache people. Next time I'll comb it lol
    I have been asked where I found the metal pan and round wire racks. Although I received them with the microwave I have, I found these items on amazon that look very similar.

    Your chicken and rice turned out good. We have an air fryer /convection oven combo. We like cooking wings in it, too. Thanks for sharing.

      I find it cooks chicken perfectly. I have not experimented with other meats yet as I keep dragging out the Blackstone in the snow lol.

      You are welcome! Using the convection oven is a lot easier thatn people think. My wife Carol was totally against it in the beginning and now she uses it all the time. Thanks for watching!

      For sure, thank you for the feed back. The idea of this video was not to show off my bare bones culinary skills lol. The point it the convection oven is incredibly easy to use. I prefer using the Blackstone outside of course but there is snow out side right now .

    Try adding 1/2 a chicken or beef knorr cube to the boiling water, it gives the rice a delicious flavor, if your just adding soy sauce, drizzle on some sesame oil too.. thanks for the video to explain things

    Thank you for your video! The chicken sure looked nice and crispy. Just got a new convection microwave. Everything in the manual seems to indicate using the round wire rack that sits on the turntable for convection baking and roasting. I'm wondering why not the large rectangle oven rack above it? Guess I'll have to call the company. Enjoy RV Life!

      Thank you for your comments. The microwave in the video did end up failing on us and we got a really nice whirlpool now under warranty. Entegra no longer uses that one and has moved on. The Whirlpool has square racks only. But I kept the round ones from the Samsung and use those. I love the fact they sit on the turn table and spin. It just seems to me it would give move even cooking. Good luck and enjoy!

      Racks and tinfoil are ok if using the convection setting. Not in the microwave settings. I use the tinfoil to help with the mess. I have seen others use parchment paper instead of tinfoil.

      I am not sure if it came with the convection oven or if it is just a regular pizza pan. Considering it is being used in a convection setting and not microwaving I assume any round pizza pan will work as long as it fits your microwave. I see quite a few on amazon amzn.to/3JJEEUA

    My book says never place pan on glass turn table place it on the wire rack

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  2 роки тому

      Maybe the book assumes if you put the pan on the turntable you will put your food in the pan and it will not cook right. Mine is on the rack above the pan and it seems to work great. I don't think putting the pan on the glass turntable will do any harm. But I am no expert. Maybe do without the pan and the tinfoil. It might be a little mesy but should work fine.

    For the first time I’m using the microwave convention oven, the fan continues the run after baking. Why is that? I tried to press the button to turn off the fan but it wouldn’t turn off.

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  3 роки тому

      I would guess that it cools the oven after use. Mine does the same and then shuts off on its own.

    • @religionisapoison2413
      @religionisapoison2413 Рік тому

      I think the heating element around the fan needs to cool off first otherwise you could run into problems overtime by the mechanical parts of the fan cooling unevenly and thus wearing unevenly... That's what someone told me

    Why waste electricity and wear and tear on the oven? Put it in while it is preheating save time and money. When it is preheated open door then shut it and set timer to 30 minutes check that center of chicken is 165° with a much needed food thermometer. It'll be done 15 to 20 minutes sooner and just as good, enjoy. 😊

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  Рік тому

      I use to think that way, at least with a good sized full chicken, turkey or roast. Doing small pieces of chicken that way you cant use a thermometer easily so you just end up tearing all the chicken apart and opening the oven too often.

    • @cepedaruben1
      @cepedaruben1 Рік тому

      @@RVLIVINGLIFE No no no start one day then find a working method. If you are tearing up the small pieces then it is done to over done. practical is the new normal. 15 minutes per Lb is recommended. 😜

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  Рік тому

      @@cepedaruben1 To each his own. My method works fine for me. It would be interesting if you could reference a cook that does not preheat an oven. That would be interesting. Im not here for debate though. A simple google search gives you many reasons why people have been preheating ovens since they invented them. There are many reasons that range from food safety to accurately following recipes.

    • @RVLIVINGLIFE
      @RVLIVINGLIFE  6 місяців тому +1

      For sure I would use a thermometer with a full turkey, chicken or roast that makes sense. We actually have one that came with the convection oven that plugs right into it. But for small chicken drumsticks seems a little silly. Do you check your bacon with a thermometer too? Just kidding but after cooking drumsticks in an oven for several decades I can tell easily if they are cooked, especially after tearing it open with a fork.
