And here we were thinking we'd try and cook a bit healthier this weekend ... who were we kidding!
“☝️Hit me up❤”…
“☝️Hit me up❤”…
Nobody lies to me like I lie to me, sounds like you're the same way. I'm going to try this asap and the diet can begin some other time.
He’s not here to help you lose weight 😉
Pecans are healthy? What are you talking about??😮
You had me just with the 3 words...1. Chocolate, 2. Pecan and 3. Cobbler.
I'm making that this summer when my kids and their spouses come home to visit. Can't wait!!
I'd add dark chocolate chips😊
Lol……me TOOOOO😂😂😂🤣🤣😅
And...Bourbon!
3 words... How it go
This is the sort of dessert you make once a year for a special occasion and enjoy it sparingly. That keeps it special and worth waiting for.
i'm gonna have it for breakfast
I think I'm going to make this every time the season changes. Four times a year. Sounds like the right thing to do. 😄
@@peterbilt-bo1vyagreed lol at least do it twice, once for Thanksgiving/holiday season and once for the first summer BBQ!
@@sempressfi Sounds like a plan! 😎
Do more desserts!!!!! Cobblers and everything you can offer!
Mostly chocolate desserts WITHOUT fruit....
Please 🙏 🙏 🙏
Yes...I definitely would swap out the
milk chocolate , for dark bittersweet chocolate, and real maple syrup 😊
Maple syrup instead of Karo syrup? That sounds yummy.
@@TruthSeekerNC
Or Half of each Karo / Maple Syrup.
I’m drooling and I am making this at Midnight.
@@tinaknutsen So did that happen? I'm wondering if the maple would work! That sounds amazing.
@@beckyabroad2003
Hi Becky;
I used half of each Maple and Karo syrup.
I baked in oven at 350 for 35 minutes, put the rest of the filling on top baked another 20 minutes. It turned out great and the house smelled amazing! I served with Moose Tracks ice cream.
I didn’t do on grill as we have excessive heat warnings.
@@TruthSeekerNC I've made a pecan pie with maple syrup before and it is yummy. So yah, doing it on the grill in cobbler form?? I don't think you can go wrong there either!!
OMG - you're right when you say you're here to give us good food not good diets! THIS looks amazing!!!! Looks SO worth EVERY calorie! Go Team Pecans! A friend that sends you pecans, is a friend you should definitely keep!
I'm a Georgia girl...we love our pecans. This will definitely be a dessert in our future. Thank you!! This is not good for your heart but definitely good for your soul 😂
Lots of great pecan farms there indeed 💚
Can’t beat pecans with chocolate! We’ve been putting chocolate chunks on the top of pecan pies for years…. 🤤
“☝️Hit me up❤”..
Yeah you can, It's nasty we threw one away while back
I would soak the pecan in rum coffee liqueur for 24 hours
@@kristenb5177That sounds so good! I believe I will try that. 🙂
@@peterbilt-bo1vy To infuse pecans with rum coffee liqueur, you can follow these steps:
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Spread the pecans on a baking sheet and roast them for 10-12 minutes until they are fragrant and lightly browned.
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of rum coffee liqueur with 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the roasted pecans until they are well coated.
Transfer the mixture to an airtight container and let it sit at room temperature for at least 24 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure that the pecans are evenly coated with the rum coffee liqueur mixture . Enjoy 😃
2 pie crusts Line bottom of pan
2 1/2 cups light brown sugar
2 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1stick butter melted
6 large eggs beaten
4 1/2 teaspoons real vanilla
Fold in …………
2 cups pecans chopped coarse
1bag chocolate chips on top of pie crust
Pour half of mixture over chocolate
Cover with second pie crust
Cook 20 minutes at 350
Pour rest of mixture on top stirring to reincorporate
Put pecans on top
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
Thank you for posting the recipe!
Thanks Matt! Will try!
Matt, I really wish you would do a video with each seasoning explaining what they go best on, what scenario they work best in, etc. I have them all and sometimes I just don’t know when to use which one. That would be a greatly needed video.
that's my problem too. they talk about spices in all the cooking shows, but they never say why or what it does for the taste.😔😔😔
I agree too!! What do you put coffee rubs on!?!
Google search is your friend.
My dad used to make chocolate bourbon pecan pie for Christmas, it was amazing! This looks great!
“☝️Hit me up❤”….
omg. those were so good and I've not heard of it for years now
Yep it’s called Kentucky derby pie. The best thing ever.
Can you share that recipe?
@charleshall9488 let me root around in my uncles cookbook. If I can find it I don't mind sharing it.
Made this for July 4th, big hit and easy to do! First time doing a dessert on a smoker.
That looks amazing!!! This is DEFINITELY on my list to cook stat!
That cobbler looks amazing and I bet it tastes divine!
Absolutely trying this.
Just made two of these. Can't wait to try it.
Ooooh! Looks delicious. 2 of my favorites chocolate and pecans. Can't wait to make this!
Omg. I've made this before in the oven. I'll try it out on the grill. Mouthwatering goodness
This video deserves just as many clicks as the BBQ videos! That looks epic man! My family, especially my kids, will love it.
Will be making that dish
This video is pure gold!
I made this for a party yesterday and it was AMAZING! Thank you so much for doing a dessert recipe!
My favorite way is almost the same but the middle I use flaky layers biscuits split up. Southern Comfort is the bourbon of choice for the recipe. Dry instant coffee sprinkled on the ice cream is a tasty addition.
“☝️Hit me up❤”.
Thank you for sharing, I will definitely be trying to make this ❤❤
it’s almost like a Kentucky derby pie, but cobbler if it had the bourbon in it. I will definitely be making it. I love your sides and dessert videos. you can have a good barbecue, but if the sides stink that’s all people are going to talk about.
What I came to comment - KY Derby!
OMG! I made this for a group of 20 people for a donated fundraiser. It blew everyone away - thanks for the recipe!
This a riff off the Kentucky Derby pie, adding chocolate to a traditional pecan pie. Definitely some Kentucky bourbon makes it pretty perfect.
Agree. KY Derby Pie all the way
Tried this recently. Could hear my arteries hardening while I ate it, but it WAS SO AWESOME! Great recipe.
My mom makes a chocolate pecan pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it's my absolute favorite dessert! This looks amazing, I may need to try this!
Made this tonight for the family. Was an instant hit!! We forgot to grab regular chocolate chips so ended up using peanut butter chips and turned out amazing!
I'm trying this one!!!
I think i'll have to try this out this sunday
I’m in the middle of making this, and I can’t wait to taste it. Cause the smell after the first cook is amazing
Looks amazing!!!
Which they would make smell-a-vision!!
Looks great. My wife makes a chocolate pecan pie with Nestles semi sweet chocolate chips . Its a great flavor.
Awesome video. Thank you.
Looks amazing I love Good American southern cooking ❤️❤️❤️
Made for Father’s Day Dessert
I well make this,thanks
I live in Austin Tx and yes adding chocolate chips to any pecan pie has been delicious for years in my family
I'll be making that FOR SURE!
Loved seeing this, in my family here in Texas we have a sour cream Pecan pie that is not so syrupy. It is so good and always a Thanksgiving favorite.
This is a good recipe. I've never heard of this. Thanks for sharing.
The recipe calls for a #9 cast iron skillet - tried this tonight with a #9 (9 inch) and it definitely needs a 12" skillet.
Trying this with peaches this weekend another GA classic
Reminds me of my Kentucky Derby pie recipe…definitely add the KY bourbon!
Tried this in Traeger Junior and here are my notes:
- Took double the time for the syrup to set and surface browned, about 100 minutes. I used aluminum round baking pan.
- Do not cut the dough specially the bottom one to make a perfect circle to fit the pan. Leave as is so the extra is raised above the circumference. This will stop the liquids from seeping beneath the dough and in turn getting stuck at the bottom of the pan from the heat. Mine got stuck and was very hard to remove. I heavily buttered the whole pan btw.
Other than that, very good recipe. Thank you!
Thank you for the notes! Made this once and cooked it at the time in the recipe and it was still extremely soupy. Will have to try again with your suggestions
Wow my mouth is watering going to have to try this. Thank you.
You have changed my cooking style! forever! You keep it simple and delicious. I made your Chocolate Pecan Cobbler and OMG it was good, fed 8 of our friends, one commented it was like heaven in his mouth. Thanks so much for your videos, your seasionings and your witt!
Made it this weekend and it was amazing
One of my favorite cooks is derby pie! This looks amazing and I need to make this asap.
So tomorrow is Father's day and we are smoking ribs and I saw this video a few days ago and immediately purchased the ingredients for this. I did change the chocolate chips to dark chocolate because I prefer dark over milk chocolate. I will let you know how it comes out.
How it go
How it go
How it go
Thanks so much to you, and Jeff for bringing you the needed ingredient lol 😁 💚
I have never used chocolate or made a pecan pie that big, great idea. I add a pinch of salt to mine, not sure if it makes a difference but have done that for decades. The half pecans float nicely during baking, but if you have the time or creative spirit you can place them, your pie is beautiful
Absolutely love your set-up!!
Wow! I will be making this.
Oh Mylanta!!!! Perfect camping dessert!!!!
That right there is a must try recipe!! Great video Matt!
“☝️Hit me up❤”….
Awesome can’t wait to make this for the family. 👍
I made this last Thanksgiving following Matt's recipe. Very delicious. Very rich. It's on my Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays recipe list now. All of my family loved it.
What did you cook it in and how long? I like crust but it didn’t look done ….
That looks amazing 😍 got my mouth watering.
Yeah I'm definitely making this 😋
Love your videos dude much helpful
That looks soooo awesome!
Looks good! I must try for the holidays
It looks delicious.
Oh my, that looks so yummy 😋
This looks AMAZING
I get it now....A Pecan Pie basicly but I love the idea because Pecan Pie is my favorite pie...Thank you for the recipe.... This looks amazing and delicious too
Just love this pie-like cobbler⭐️👍
Gave me an idea for my wife's birthday! Thanks Matt.
Sure looks good. Gonna try it.Thank you
Drizzle a bit of melted caramel over the top, the last five minutes it's on the smoker. 😋
Looks amazing, can't wait to try it out!!!
One of the best things I had when I was in Texas was the pecan cobbler. This looks amazing!
“☝️Hit me up❤”..
This was awesome. My 7-year-old and I made this cobbler for Thanksgiving. This is my family's new favorite desert. We did add a shot of whiskey to the reprice. 100% will be making this again.
Thank You 😊
Looks Great! Gonna try this next weekend.
OMG!!! That looks amazing!!!
Will be trying this bad boy this Saturday for the first time.
this is going to be excellent for 4th july bbq. thank you
My mouth is watering watching you enjoy that awesome cobbler! Off to the store I go to purchase those ingredients!
I am going to make that this weekend.
I'm going to have to try this
After watching this i had to try. Your instructions were great i followed them to the T. In the second stage of the cook just smelling the cook was absolutely amazing. I entered it in a church pie/dessert contest and won on the first go. Thanks much an amazing dessert.
This is Kentucky derby pie. Mix all ingredients and pour into 2 unbaked pie shells and voilà. I like it cold from the fridge and my kids like warm just like this.
Yes!!
That looks delish.
Thank you so much for sharing! Yummy!
Looks good
If I can make a suggestion? The next time you use corn syrup spray the measuring cup with cooking spray first and the syrup will come out so much cleaner and there wont be anything left behind.
It was delicious 😋👍🏻
I’m doing this asap! Thanks Matt. My mother in law does chocolate chip pecan pie for holidays. First Christmas with them, it changed my life as a pecan lover. Moving it to the pellet grill as a cobbler is a no brainer. Can’t wait.
“☝️Hit me up❤”…
This looks awsome! I can't wait to try it!
Looks Amazing 🤩
Looks amazing
Making this tomorrow! Thanks and I am looking forward to this.
I tried mine with maraschino cherries very tasty
I make a very similar pie that is lovely, but your layered cobbler may replace it! Beautiful!
Amazing recipe! Delicious! Please make more dessert videos!!😊
