    The RC community is great. One good idea spawns another. Strong work Brian!

    Great video. I watched the same video where you got the idea. I just bought a m17 and even more recently got the wireless upgrade to add also.

      Ha, I just saw your video right after posting this one. That M17 looks nice! I am bit jealous but I am also happy this mod is working.

    Those little connectors like that can be very tricky and it is normal for you to have to retry multiple times before you get a solid connection! I just did some my self and it would be way easier if you buy the crimp tool instead of the pliers the crimp forms the metal in a perfect bend were the pliers can't to that.

      I certainly learned that the hard way. Thank you for the advice and for commenting on this video. I’ll have to look into getting a crimp tool.

      @@briandrake8557 Or get a male to female servo extender. Then cut it in half.

    Hey I'm trying this upgrade and my remote wont turn on unless it's on the charger pad and it says low battery but I know it's not. It shuts off as soon as I take it off the charge pad. Any ideas?

    • @briandrake8557
      @briandrake8557  4 роки тому

      Hmm, hard to say. It kinda sounds like the radio power out and battery power in wires are switched. That would explain why it only turns on when on the charger and why it says low battery. Since the charging circuit isn’t pushing out as much juice as the battery does. But I don’t really know. Let me know if you figure out the problem.

      Brian Drake thanks for your reply. I triple checked and its wired up just as your diagram shows. If I start switching wires do you think I can damage the remote?

      It really is hard to say with any certainty what’s wrong. It could be possible that the circuit board is faulty. Again, if I were to guess based on how you described your problem. It simply sounds like the wires were switched. It might also be possible that the circuit board manufacturer changed the wire configuration.

    Hi.
    Please tell me, how fast charge this wireless charger?

    • @briandrake8557
      @briandrake8557  3 роки тому +1

      I’m not sure. When my battery starts to get low I simply put the radio on the charging pad in between races. I haven’t had to let it charge for more than an hour. Although my battery has never been completely dead.

    Are you still using this mod, how is your Lipo after a couple of charges ?

    • @briandrake8557
      @briandrake8557  4 роки тому +1

      Yup still using the mod. I have only had to put it on the wireless charging pad once so far. As far as I can tell there is no noticeable drain from the circuit.
      Thanks for the question. I was thinking of doing a follow up video at some point.
