We have been shopping for the past week and finnaly gave up .We realized very quickly that our Lexus IS with 164k is way better that anything we were looking at new . Decided to keep it and just keep it maintained .
It's funny how people comment and just name the brand but can't tell you what vehicles to buy. Some of Toyota's cars and trucks are a complete disaster. Even Honda with their rack and pinion steering going out on their new vehicles which has a recall. When driving down the road the steering will turn left 🙈
@@natelove187Only the newest ones with v6 turbos, and not even all of them. Even their new I4 turbo is doing great. Also recalls are better than lawsuits (unlike the practices of GM or Hyundai that intentionally screw customers way worse most of the time) and replacement parts will take time for any manufacturer nowadays.
In my market toronto canada, I'm noticed used camrys/rav4/crv/civics are going for similar prices as the equivalent years a4/bmw 3 series etc. ofc german cars are more expensive to maintain but considering the used prices are the same, is it worth getting a used luxury german car instead of an economy japanese car? It's ironic that because the japanese cars are known for being cheap they have ended up being expensive.
That’s a risky one. There are a few relatively reliable luxury cars out there and for example a used 4 or 6 cylinder BMW newer than 2017 could be solid, yet a V8 from the same brand is a big risk. Bottom line is servicing and maintenance is very expensive luxury cars so if you can DIY then you can be good to go
So u think so. The new Toyota Tundra engine failures, the new Toyota Tacoma transmission failing, the 2025 Toyota Camry loud and weak noisy ecvt transmission, Toyota Corolla GR catching fire, the new 2.4 turbo engine and transmission jerking which needed a software update, the Toyota Grand Highlander side airbag not deploying and that 2.4 turbo engine issue caused Toyota to shut the manufacturing plant down for almost a year to stop sale to fix those problems. The new Honda vehicles rack and pinion steering rack had to be recalled because the wheels will turn left or right while driving down the road. Don't let me talk about Nissan, Mazda and Mitsubishi. It's always best to look at consumer reports and the national highway traffic safety administration to see what buyers are saying, recalls, and if the vehicle is a number one pick in the green area. It's not an American worker issue. It's Toyota and Honda Headquarters being cheap with product development engineering. Just pass the blame like Ford Motor Company do

Take the Germans and European cars off the list including Mercedes, BMW and Audi. It is then down to Toyota, Mazda and Honda in that order. Then choose a model that is a Non Hybrid and Non Turbo. Mazda 3 would be my choice with normal aspirated engine with 6 speed manual.
Honda reliability is not good anymore. Especially their 4cyl cars. Many things break except the engine and trans after 170k miles. Had 07 acura tsx 4cyl.

Peaple dont get it. You dont no how to drive a manual like i was. Brought a 85 Mustang GT in 86. Every since had at less 1 manual since then. Then a manaul keeps the owner more in touch of the vehicle. Automatic transmission cost over 3 k more and changing out the oil. Manual transmission is completely sealed no transmission fluid changes. After so many years of a manual transmission it comes natural without thinking about it.
I was driving the mall and couldn’t believe my eyes parking lots full of 25 fords all models guessing about 150 vehicles or I like to call orphans no home
Not the new 2025 Toyota Camry. The ecvt transmission is so loud and underpowered. I heard one the other day accelerating down the street. It sounded like car was falling apart. I'm like no way. I'll keep my 2022 Toyota Corolla SE. Even though the Corolla has a CVT, it's smooth and it doesn't sound like that new Camry. It seems as if Toyota doesn't care anymore. I believe Toyota wants to exit the North America manufacturing and just build cars in Japan 🇯🇵. I don't see the effort anymore and for Toyota to destroy a reliable brand within 2 years is unbelievable 🙈
It's a no brainer bro. Lexus ls500. Have you ever driven an ls500? I drove 1 for 3 days when my lexus was getting serviced. Car is hands down IMPRESSIVE
Buy no turbo , less electronics possible , the more gadgets the more expense down the road . Most European cars can’t be affordable owned after the warranty is up. To expensive to repair and too many headaches
Is there a mileage limit you put on used vehicles before you'd purchase one? Im looking at a camry/es350 type soon. It seems that the only affordable ones (that are well taken care of) tend to have higher millage. Like 125k miles and above.
Bought my 2010 F with 105k miles for 23.5k back in 2019. Sitting at 137k. Still running down 392's & SS's. Buy a F model. 2008 - 2014 IS F or GS F. Yes, they're expensive BUT! They WILL outlast ANY car you've ever owned. I'd put my IS F on the line to prove to you!
I have 2021 Mazda 3 HB 6MT for over 4 years (I bought it new), runs strong still. And I just bought a new 2024 Lexus IS 350 AWD, hope it stay with me a long time with regular maintenance.
Lexus IS has low quality fake leather seats! My gfs 2015 lexus is300 leather seats, door panel, and center arm rest are ripped after 8 years. Car has 126k miles. Common problems on all 2013+ IS models.

In Europe No1 under 70 buys Honda Jazz ( Fit ) other than the 1.5 VTEC manual they are also really underpowered the CVT which as we all drive manuals hardly sells & it's also dead slow. I would love the 1.5 VTEC sport but at 55 I'm still far too young.
According to Edmonds true cost to own maintenance and repairs for a 2023 Lexus RX 350 is 9143 for 5 years. The cost to own a 2023 Porsche Macan is 11474. So break this down per month, the Macan costs 38.83 cents more per month versus the RX350. So for less than 40 buck a month I can drive a vehicle that gives a thrill every time you get behind the wheel and mash the gas. Of course there is more costs involved but just examining the M&R there isn't a whole lot of difference. Also when the Porsche gets older the M&R cost will probably increase much more than that of the Lexus and you can put on 300K on the lexus when the Porsche will make 200K. Not very many people keep vehicles that long.
I have 2 Honda Accord coupe exl 2.4l. In my opinion they are the best cars overall for the price. It handles great, nothing breaks, and the leather and interior are very comfortable and stylish.
