Hello everyone!!! Thank you for watching! Did any of you have trouble getting your pool water clear and finally NOT cloudy!? I know it took me awhile with numerous trips to my local pool store for water testing lol? Do any of you use this vacuum? If not, which do you use??

I bought a house with a pool where the owner told me at closing, "Oh, hey... the pool's booster pump is dead." Now, you can manually vacuum *without* a booster pump, but the booster pump is for the hose-based "automated" vacuums. I decided to go with a Maytronics Dolphin Nautilus, which was a fairly entry-level unit back in 2015 and it cost about $500. The big problem that I ran into with that unit is that it kept getting stuck on the main drain, and I eventually sold it to a friend after buying a Maytronics Dolphin M600. That unit lasted me for a bit, but it finally bit the dust earlier this year. (I still want to do a bit of digging to see whether any parts are good for me to sell such as the ~$250 cable, which was replaced a year prior.)
I ended up purchasing a Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus as a replacement, and of course, the one big thing is that all of these are corded units. I actually don't mind corded units too much... until the cord starts tangling. However, since I added a Betta SE Plus automated pool skimmer, I've been having issues with the Betta getting stuck on the Dolphin's cord, which becomes a big problem if I either leave the Dolphin in the pool or simply forget about it.
I have been considering a different robot to avoid this problem, but honestly... I'm not that enthused with a lot of the cordless robots. The biggest thing is that the cord on a corded robot makes it super easy to remove the robot from the pool... even if you can't see it (e.g., cleaning it at nighttime), and you lose that benefit with a corded robot. I am very keen on Wybot's latest offering, the S2 Pro, which has a dock that the robot can return to when it's done. This means that you do not have to charge the unit yourself and it can communicate while the robot is underwater. Essentially, it removes the common complaints people have with cordless robots! The only problem is that I don't know Wybot as a company, and when I sent them a support request a week or so ago, they never responded. Not a good sign! (As a side note, I sent Beatbot a support request about their upcoming automated skimmer and they responded within 12 hours.)
At this point, I'd probably rather wait for a better company to make a docking cordless pool cleaner before I switch. There's only about a month left in pool season anyway.

Regarding a cloudy pool, you're likely dealing with dead debris (usually algae) that is now just aimlessly floating after being shocked. To deal with that, just use clarifier or flocculant. The prior can be dealt with by your pump (just watch the pressure as it will climb) or the latter can be dealt with via a vacuum.
Prior to that state, the most important thing is to get your pool at the appropriate level, and pretty much *everything* needs to be good before it makes sense to add chlorine! Stabilizer takes the longest to add/mix, so I always add that first. Stabilizer is an acid (cyanuric acid), so you may see some pH changes, so it's best to ensure that's in a good range. Also, make sure your Total Alkalinity is in a good range as that helps keep the pH stable. There are other settings/levels to be aware of, but those are the most important prior to adding chlorine. All you really need on hand to do this is baking soda (+pH, +TA), muriatic acid (-pH), powdered cyanuric acid (+Stabilizer), and liquid chlorine (10% or higher).
Don't purchase the items from the pool stores as they're generally overpriced. You can get large bags of baking soda from the grocery section in Walmart, and it's the exact same thing. I usually get muriatic acid from home improvement stores, and liquid chlorine from Walmart. Walmart is simply the cheapest for liquid chlorine *AND* they store it inside. Chlorine does decay over time and it also decays faster in warmer temperatures, which is why I prefer Walmart over home improvement stores that keep pool supplies outdoors. Just make sure to check the manufacture date on the liquid chlorine. It's displayed as " " For example, for today, August 20, 2024, you'd see something like "24 233". I try to avoid anything that's more than a few months old, and I've seen some from the prior year. Yikes!
Also, I highly recommend just getting your own test kit. I use a Taylor K2006, and it serves me well.

Good morning. I just purchased a new home with a built in pool and am looking at multiple videos with everyone testing all different models of cordless pool cleaners. If you had to pick one and money wasn't an issue, which one would you pick? I am asking the same question to multiple youtubers. Thx. Paul.

@@paulattanasio3061 this one! 100 percent! I use it almost everyday and it hasn’t given me any issues at all. It cleans my pool for about 3 hour or even more depending on the setting you have it on and what you want it to clean. It does a great job! Let me know which one you end up going with!

Yeah!! Very happy with it! It actually cleans for like 3 hours or more continuously now because the pool is clean. The filter no longer gets dirty and clogged after only 20 minutes like on this video lol
