  • Today we finally get to set in the most overhung section of the gym. Ok, we know this is not a "true" cave, but it definitely the most power oriented wall in the gym. Purple pinches, fluid power movement, what more could you ask for?! Thanks so much for watching and we appreciate your likes, comments, and subscriptions, y'all ROCK!

Keep going on the videos guys it's awesome ! I would really like to have a video on how you can set a route above your level and other tips like that.

Awesome suggestion! That will likely be a video that will be coming up either as a discussion or a setting video. Thanks for watching and your comment.

Thanks for the reply ! Definitely the hardest thing for me when setting on my home wall is to find something hard to send but natural as well. I'm curious if every grade has a "list" of predefined moves that you often set or it's pure feeling from the route setter ?

Some moves definitely con-scribe themselves to harder grades, bathangs, bicycles, intentional back flags, etc. a great idea for setting harder is, set an easy problem but downgrade the quality and position of the feet and those small adjustments can make a big difference in the difficulty

Absolutely loving these videos! I wonder if you guys would be interested in filming the setting of specific moves, and breaking down why they work? E.g how to encourage toe hooks, drive-by's etc. Kind of a movement analysis that people can use as a reference for their setting perhaps? Keep it up!

Awesome suggestion! That is definitely on our list of things to do. John is actually working on some diagrams to help explain some of these concepts. Thank you for the kind words and support!

I wish my gym had more encouraging starts. My gym has a decent amount of problems where the start is the hardest move 😭

Rock candy makes some amazing shapes, it’s tough to wrestle these pinches from the other setters, but we were lucky enough to get to set with them!

@@VerticalSouth I love just about everything Rock Candy has put out. They are also the holds I climb on the most because their gym is my home gym.
