    Looks like a bad boulder I am not going to lie. Unless you were going for really awkward positions and moves. Especially the move going over the lip is just bad

    I like that your V1 mix grip types to give beginner some break. in some gym, the entire route of each route uses the same type of grip which is very intimidating for beginner - esp slopers, or small crimps!

    Ik wondering. Is there a reason you are using an impact driver instead of a normal drill?

    • @VerticalSouth
      @VerticalSouth 3 місяці тому

      It’s preferred over a drill when you’re screwing bolts and fasteners. The impact driver has better torque. You could use a drill I suppose, I have seen it and when my driver was dead used a drill for a sec. But when you’re setting a lot of routes and constantly tweaking holds and placement the impact driver is the better tool.

    This cat is brilliant. Sooooo good at explanations, spatial stuff in simple terms. I learned more in 5 minutes that I’d learned in hours of other routesetting vids. We built a wall on outside of the house. I feel so much more confident now. This is going to be the fun part!

    Oh, honey… bare feet on the holds? So everyone who touches those holds touches your feet. No one wants to touch strangers feet. Please use shoes, or some vibrams or something? We germaphobes thank you. And thx for the tips!

    in my gym they would have left it without that last foothold to make things more spicy. I find it cool that they like to make hard v4 or whatever it is rather than make it a soft or solid v4, even the soft ones tend to have things where it could have had a convenient foot hold or easier start etc. Good video though!

    Nice to see the videos rolling in again! Would be helpful to hear a bit about what the goal/focus of the boulder is (aside from the grade) at the start of the video. This way things like the honld selection and placement have more context knowing what the setter set out to accomplish. Thanks for making routesetting videos, never get tired of them!

    • @VerticalSouth
      @VerticalSouth 2 роки тому

      Occasionally this can happen with dead points, we had Nick test it as he is average height and average ape index. He had a little more span to use on the end of his move so we should have covered around 80% or climbers! Your right though especially with dead points and dynos it is hard to include everyone.
