One recommendation... before pulling the wire out, tape a wire or string to the plug end. This way you'll be able to tape it to the new connector and pull it back the other way so itll be in the same route as the old one. ... I used to work as a car stereo installer. There were many times we had to fish wire through the dash. It was the easiest using the old wires as a guide for the new wire to be installed.
Great instructions! I followed your video to the tee and Mission Accomplished! I use to love working on my car in high school but I have been a high school teacher for almost 28 years. I will certainly come to your channel for other simple repairs and replacement!
Thanks, great job 👍 simplicity is the name of the game 🤩. Gotta get mine done real soon. I have a 2002 Ford F-150..... Ok, thanks again Angie from Charlotte NC

Is there any model variation of a 1997 F150 that requires the air bag to be removed to replace the gear shift?
Do you have to turn off the airbag?
That tilt lever his almost never loosen enough to do it by hand
Why do you have to unplug the 2 plugs underneath?

Why all the unplugging if wires?
Why do you need to take the key out if you're not moving the shift lever at all
Thank you very helpful
