Very helpful video. Way better than some of the others on the fix. One thing I would add is that once I reassembled everything, it wouldn't shift out of park because the #34 fuse blew as a result of the shifter being jacked up.
Well done ,thanks.
Outstanding video. I'm currently replacing my heater core etc. on my 98 F- 150, what a pain. Yours and mine are very similar trucks. If I might add; both pin directions are critical, and use new pins. Use threadlocker removable on all screws. Use ONLY white lithium grease on both collars. No petroleum grease because it WILL eat up the plastic bushings !!! Great video.
Nice video man,this will help
Great step by step instructions best video I've seen for this shift tube replacement fix. Very informative for anyone not Great with Mechanics. Great job and keep up the great work. I subscribed and will stay tuned.
Thanks. Nice truck. I have an Excursion. Climbs really well. Ford makes some very nice Trucks. Cars too.
Kinda crazy how these go bad, but the one on my 86 F-150 is still working great.
They probably made them out of better metal back then. This cast aluminum looks weak. Also this truck has 345,000 miles and was used as a plow truck for I don’t know how long.
WOW! this dude got some skills! Outstanding video
Great video. Thankyou!
Very well made video. Thank you for taking the time to make it and share it. Any tips on how to make adjustments to the gear indicator? Mine is not properly aligned with the hear letters on the indicator.
I’m not sure if they sell a replace string thing but the mount under the steering column could be damaged. They sell replacement aluminum brackets to hold that gear indicator string onto the column. It is probably stretched out.
Under the column at the end of the gear indicator line is an adjustment wheel. Very easy adjustment to do. Now that you are familiar, replace the plastic connector with an aluminum piece for $9.99 :)

Jesus christ. I was hoping it wasnt this involved…
Why would you use the name of our Lord and Savior's name in vain? I will pray for you.
@@timgiles9413I can deal with a lot of cussing…but that’s the one I can’t tolerate
@@timgiles9413because Ive studied what happens when you die for 35yrs now & found out what happens. Made it my priority in life & its not what you think. Theres not a god damn magical thing about it.
Great job, thanks. My son brought his Ford Excursion to me and asked me to fix it for him. I am a Chevrolet guy, so I was clueless. You did an awesome job explaining and showing the process. Thank you.
