FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE "EPILOGUE" LYRICS
Oh
Bright son of destiny
Bringer of light in this darkness
Beautiful prince
Now take my hand again
Forever tied by the thread of our fate
Now, we're together again
Cold and desolate is the nature of my soul
Forever indifferent to the screams of shadows
Lying deep in the void
So give it up
Now face the score
In the heart of the chosen one
There's no deliverance
I have to face all this scorn
Staining my own land with useless tears
Look in the eyes of the one
Feeding himself with my deepest fears
Oh
I'll touch your heart again
Waken the cold lonely dreamer
I, will illuminate your soul
Wounded by emptiness
Please take me far from this land of pain
Now, on the waves of the sea
Cold and desolate is the nature of my soul
Forever indifferent to the screams of shadows
Lying deep in the void
So give it up
Now face the score
In the heart of the chosen one
There's no deliverance
I had to face all this scorn
Staining my own land with useless tears
Look, now I am too tired to fight
And run away from this filling light
Nightmares and shadows
Together we'll drown in the sea
Believe me!
You'll walk by my side

They are Italians who make symphonic death metal with opera influenses and blast beat...how can you not like this?
So Italiani
Exactly. Why aren't they wayyyy more known?!?!
Their italianis is my most favorite part
you said it... Italians... that's how
Wheres the blast beats on this track??
you ever not listen to a band for a few years, then circle back to them and realize all over again how awesome they are?
That's my story with this band today.
And I got a few others I have to check back in on as well.
Doing that now
Been about 4yrs since I listened to them. Forgot the awesomeness
2nd time doin it with them ha. listened since agony
Me. 😂 knew them ten years or more butnever played even 1 song of them. 2023 tried to click.. and was awesome
My mom introduced me to this band. Such great music
Good mom
gorgeous mom
Damn that must be a sick mom bro
Such great mom

That classical guitar in the intro is amazing.

Fleshgod Apocalypse must be one of the most underrated bands ever. They never fail to amaze me with these masterpieces
+superconfusedman Right!? Its definitely my favourite band now. all the emotion and how they portray it. saw them live 2 months ago, seeing them live in 2 weeks for the second time. Trying not to cry will be hard as hell. everything about them is so coherent and well executed. man... they even do the "dance" part live. amazing,
+Cecile Ann (FemaleHenk) Yes exactly! The musical brilliance is simply on another level. I want to see them live so bad ;__;
superconfusedman they are good live
I discovered them today They are unique as hell!
@@superconfusedman I want so much to see them in live too :(
Can't stop headbanging, can't stop crying. Tears are flying everywhere, it's starting to annoy the other people in the restaurant.
+Alexander Felts ^^^
Epic xD
+Alexander Felts lol
+Alexander Felts Yeah, imagine that... but at a live concert. fuck my life...
+Cecile Ann (FemaleHenk) they played this at hellfest epicness level over 9000
I don't listen to music with screaming often and this is the only song that has ever literally brought me to tears.
It does that sometimes. I just close my eyes and take everything in, then let my subconscious take over.
That usually does the trick for me. A little feel here and a tear there...I get the same feeling when listening to classical music.
Just close your eyes and take it in...
Im glad I'm not the only one crying with metal.....Mi kids ( 28 and 27) ask me. Why dad?...

One word comes to mind: Passion.
Music is more than what pop culture/media has mad it into, which is little more than a fad now. Something thats seen as cool or uncool.
Its much more than that, at least it should be. Its an art form. Something many people pour their heart and soul into, and if you actually pay attention you can feel it.
To much of "art" today is concerned with either making money or inflating pretentious egos who make shite and try to pass it off as art.
This song, for example, is more than just simple head banging material. Its a mental soup of joyous metal carnage :)
+CreepYourSmile very well said! 👌 🖖🤘🤘

Danke :)
Why is cello guy not getting more praise in the comments. The interlude was so beautiful
***** Damn straight it was. Everybody involved in this song and video knocked it out of the park.
***** the cello guy was awesome, the only thing that i dont like about this band is the guy screaming, instrumental is awesome guys screaming sometimes will kill it.
metalmessenger try some older gothic metal like Tristania, Sirenia, and Nightwish. The growling vocals are counterpoint to the symphonic. It's beauty and the beast.
chris wood Absolutely. Those bands are definite essential listening.
i've known them for a long time, nightwish since oceanborne came out.
I hope one day they put together an opera style performance tour. Complete with a gran orchestra, back up singers, the works and call the "Phantom of the Apocalypse"
if i ever have enough money, i'll spend it on this project! but they have to play every song of every album!
Jesus Christ that sounds AMAZING!!!!
WHY IS THIS NOT THE #1 COMMENT
You mean something like dimmu borgir did with 'forces of the northern night' concert?? That would be amazing
@@lucagiraldo4423 Exactly like that, but classier.
I'm so wearing a suit the next time I go to a Fleshgod Apocalypse concert.
Hey that;s a great idea! Except for the possible beer stains after the concert :D
Ooo me too!
Buying a suit just for this.
Except with boots and chains wrapped around.
Wear one of those shinny blue suits from their video for the song 'the violation'
Peter G I only wear suits brotha
Metal is simply the best music genre ever. Period.
This is basically classical music done with a lot of double kick and distortion.
It's pretty much Mozart on steroïds.
@@behemitch8287 Couldn't agree more
Agreed.
Metal is simply the best and most expressionistic form of art. Period
The guitar bending with the vocalist at 6:06 is goddamn magical.
Hell yeah indeed!
The Beauty And The Beast in the most poetic form possible
It matches perfectly!
That’s art.

I found a new theme song!
thanks, Dude
Thank you
These lyrics needs to be redone in original Latin. Italian accent and all.
That would be holy....
Thank you.
I know most people in the world wouldn't understand this next statement.... But this is beautiful. So much feeling portrayed through this music. The beautiful cello, violin, and piano. Then the guitar, bass, and drums come in to portray the anger. And the contradicting voices. Beautiful.
I agree very much so, this song is a contradicted masterpiece. \m/
+Smithysmithin Music is contrast, as any other art is
+Smithysmithin Very much so, well said.
+Smithysmithin I couldn't have said it better myself, well done sir.
You're right. It's a exelent composition,!!!
This is the best song to describe my music taste. Classical music, classical guitar, opera, extreme metal. All blended in one and blended flawlessly. I'm not saying this often but this band is genius
Hello friend, I believe I you can feel your taste. I would like to recommend Septic Flesh live in Mexico. All the best.
@@sengiryCZ Hi, what I can say is that Codex Omega by Septicflesh is an absolute of symphonic death metal. They're different from this band, but damn they're good
@@eternum7056 HELLO Eternum. Thank YOU so much for much for your reaction. Yes, I feel is a different Path, but these Warriors fight for the same - not an idea - for what is the worthest of things.
To remain a human with off odds that IT brings.
Stay Safe ✋
OMG I love this band's theatrical elements.
WhoDarestheMAN gamer I was talking more about the way they incorporate the music into their music videos, and the way the music and the video really come together, but the definition of theatrics is a dramatic performance, so a lot of metal falls in that category actually.
This song is extremely underrated. Its so symphonic and beautiful yet gnarly and raw. So good.
I searched "Italian drummer god metal" and this was the fifth result.
And now its first
Um... Search results should be... violated
now he is a vocals for his band LOL
Now its first XD
First time hearing these guys.
I must say, I'm impressed. I love this. Fleshgod Apocalypse just got a new fan.
check out The Violation, The Forsaking and Minotaur (Wrath Of Poseidon) if you haven't already. FGA rule!!
aditya chandrashekhar No Bro, The Temptation, The Hypocrisy and KingBorn are their Best Tracks by Far... BRUTAL
OmniscientVirtuosity In Honour of Reason, As Tyrants Fall, Embodied Deception, Retrieving My Carcass, Thru Our Scars, Abyssal.
Naruga Kuruga Fuck it. Listen to everything they made.
I prefer the Melodic and heavy ones such as this, The Violation, Healing Through War, and Cold as Perfection.
I absolutely miss Tommaso. He brought a different flair and emotions into the overall epic, operatic sound of fleshgod
I know :( I met him when I first even discovered the band at Summer slaughter in 2011, he was so sweet in person as well :(
he also never had to cheat with his guitar parts while singing even their most difficult songs...I do love Francesco, but he does often play simplified parts (most notably to me in Minotaur and the last chorus in The Fool) and really difficult songs like Kingborn, Pathfinder and Elegy haven't been played live since the lineup changed.
I don't mean to bash on Francesco like that, it's more that Tommaso is a severely underrated guitarist for being able to do it so effortlessly...these songs are difficult enough as it is but on Labyrinth the rythm guitar goes about as hard as the lead guitar most times and is in no way written around the fact that the guitarist is also the vocalist.
In other words: "Shit's so brutal even the author doesn't perform it!"
On a side note, I also miss Cristiano...he had the most menacing stage presence with an awesome psychotic stare
Anyone know why he and Cristiano left?
I have cried many a time listening to classical music because of the pure beauty of it, I have never cried to metal until now. This song is perfect, it is so beautiful on so many levels. These guys hands down are the most talented band on earth right now. The song and video are absolutely breathtaking
It's like they create a new masterpiece everytime they upload something.
Hello from Florence! I am so proud that this band is from Italy🤘🏻🇮🇹
My girlfriend has just broken up with me, and I feel every word in this song so deeply and painfully that I can't even cry. Fleshgod, thanks for the music, you speak for my soul.
Saying this is a masterpiece would be an understatement! This is the most beautiful piece of art I've ever experienced!
Jakromha If you want to see more good shit there is some other geniuses out there. Try out Ne Obliviscaris ans Animal as Leaders
Jakromha in Soviet Russia art experiences you.
Jakromha If you like this you should check out Septicflesh
There is Septic Flesh and Fleshgod A. and there are the other extreme metal bands.
Jakromhl
Opera and metal works so great with each other. Both vocals requires lots of voice!
Wow... that was brutal! The opera vocals fit perfectly. Just imagine if they did a concert like Epica's Retrospect with this level of performance plus live choir+orchestra. Glad I found this band!
So much talent, not enough credit from the world. So sad that people don't appreciate the skill these people have.
Still cant believe I saw this live. So perfect!
And they have their own brand of wine now.
Italians. Whaddya gonna do?
And their own brand of pasta too XD
+Tomahawks360 fleshgod apastalypse???
+Tomahawks360 Seriously?! 0.o
+Wolf Tunez Really... I don't know. I said that cause in the video of Francesco cooking pasta he showed FA pasta and FA wine. But I don't know if it is a fake or a truly brand...
Tomahawks360 I just looked on their official website, and it's real. 0.0
Awesome!
A great piece of art again!
The song is wonderful, I love the combination of Growl and Opera-Voice!
Also the video is wonderful, the location looks so cool :D
And as always: I LOVE YOUR OUTFITS!

kenseiharima I think so :D
Soham Chowdhury Oh... Oh yea, I see :D
Raccoon ...We meet again.
Everyone's complaining about the beautiful soprano voice without even mentioning that.... "guitar solo"... Near the end.
Because the solo wasn't interesting.
The fact that there are vocals over the guitar parts towards the end should tell you that it's not meant to be a melodic lead solo, it's merely accenting the vocal parts and filling the gaps between the vocal patterns and the rhythm guitars. Good to see people can't comprehend metal music beyond basic structural patterns and paradigms.
I deeply regret offending your holy knowledge of metal music's basic structural patterns and paradigms. I knew as I was typing it: "well maybe the descendant of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart will come and put me in my place", but I opened my rancid mouth anyway. I kiss your feet, your majesty. May I forever be your indentured servant.
No offense on anything, quite obviously. It just seems trivial and sad to criticize something for not fitting within your concept of what metal music is, regarding guitar solos. Carry on, though, there's obviously nothing I can do about it and this is common in the online "metal" community anyway, you're not alone.
AEUGNewtype let me rephrase... "That moment in which the voice and guitar are in unison is bad".
Beats the hell out of new suicide silence. Lol. The amount of work put into a song like this is unimaginable. Anyone who says this sucks needs to get their ears checked and needs to pick up an instrument so they can experience how much musicality is required to make something like this. This isn't the kind of metal I usually listen to but man can I appreciate the artists who strive to do shit like this. Much props. Much creativity.
***** Subjective at best.
Rings of Saturn may be incredible musically but I can't listen to that shit. Sometimes less is more. And believe me I have experience in music too. It's all about preference.
Based off what they put out maybe but the first first few albums beg to differ
Better yet. Whats displayed =/= actual technical capability. For someone claiming to know about music you seem quite blissfully ignorant of the fact that you very much so change face for what you're trying to create many times. One very real issue surrounding this album they addressed was how the guitars were integrated as a section of strings, verse standing out as their own entity.
mmk.
Once again, Fleshgod Apocalypse nailed this one!
Being a long time fan way before Oracles was released, I am amazed by the musicianship of the band. Yes, "Oracles" was definitely heavy. Yes, they progressed. Deal with it because a bands' capabllity is not about sounding the same all the time, but being able to progress and experiment.
Right on
I agree, but a band should still stay faithful to their sound as they progress. Fleshgod are one of those bands that nail the balance between progression and conservativism.
@@snazzyjovialwyrm3314 Why "should" they? Who makes the rules about how bands are supposed to do things? Everyone's tastes change over time, including the people writing the music. Take a look at Symphony X over the years - they've copped heaps of grief for getting heavier and heavier compared to their roots, but their latest album Underworld was magnificent and one of the best live shows I've been to. And a completely different experience to what they wrote 20 years prior. The reality is that fans will come and go, and that's ok.
That said, I definitely agree with your point about Fleshgod's balance between progression and conservatism. Each album has its own sound but they're still all 100% Fleshgod and magnificent.
if/when they ever make it big enough to play with a real professional orchestra and choir, it'll be one of the most unique live performances EVER in the history of music
Grandissimi!
Kevn Luck informateviiiiii :D Orgoglio Italiano i nostri Fleshgod :D altro che Lacuna Coil!!
***** e ci aggiungo volentieri Eyeconoclast e Hour Of Penance ;)
E Hiss From the Moat
Non tralasciamo anche i Destrage raga!
Saw these for the first time at Bloodstock last month. Headbutted my disabled best friend headbanging (Accidentally)
What I'm trying to say is, BEST. BAND. EVER.
this is absolutely gorgeous
4:19 that transition for soft to intense IS AMAZING
That opera-growl duo at the end was AMAZINGGGGG!!!!
Dat classical doe
You real wild Derek lmao
Wow the climax to this song is so powerful, with the guitar going off and the opera singers voice clashing with the screamer, It's just pure epicness
Love Veronica's voice
this is truly one of the best songs I've ever heard...the pure talent is just soaking up in my ears!! it's fucking beautiful
That guitar solo at the end gives me chills every time I hear it
By far one of the best metal songs i've ever heard. The intro is beautiful, opera vocals somehow fits perfectly and the guitar, drums and violin elements gives the perfect atmosphere to the song. I love it
This is magic. I swear it is. How do they blend melancholy, beauty and anger in such a fine way? I’ve heard all those blended together from other bands but the way these guys do it is just magical! They had to have used some form of dark magic.
Best of the best music and lyric.
Italians man... it's like they can't physically fail at art. This whole band is a masterpiece.
Ach wie schön. Wegen solcher Momente bin ich froh, vor 38 Jahren die einzig wahre Musik für mich entdeckt zu haben: Heavy Metal!!!!
ive been searching all my life for a band like this...
My sister when I played this for her: "Oh cool guitar it's so cut-" *Bass kicks in* "OH MY GOD THAT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME"
What a Fucking hard hitting song
I feel like fleshgod should make an album with no metal, just symphonic elements. like, versions of all their songs in a "opera" form.
RealMetalGaming And have an actual orchestra do the strings? That'd be fucking cool, man... Maybe one day, when they can actually afford a real orchestra...
volimNestea Whats not to say they can and just haven't gone for the idea? :P
***** Common sense, mate ;)
Common sense isn't exactly common... now then, have you got any actually plausible reasons? >u>
***** Apparently, it isn't. Why the fuck wouldn't they do it with an actual orchestra if they can? It's as you say, common sense isn't exactly common after all...
There's 3 things I find beautiful.
1. My wife
2. Suspiria
3. This track.
Haunting, beautiful yet brutal.
Death Metal meets Opera...and they get along very well
This is why I love extreme metal. The vocals become their own instrument. Absolutely beautiful!
found these guys by accident, and the mix of the ladies voice the music, and the screaming, blended perfectly, to melt your heart and explode your brain.
Beautiful and brutal…Two words that we generally don't put together, but they manage to make it.
I saw this video back in my college days circa 2015... After about 5 long years, it bothered the hell out of me to find this... Lost a whole working day trying to figure it out, filtering through all the symphonic metal bands and songs... Finally searched with keywords "symphonic, metal, death, fat, female vocal, soprano, grayscale, church, gothic, masquerade, mask, 2014, 2015, 2016" finally got here.... I'm positively delighted by the result, whew!
That guitarist is a sleeping good out there. So much emotions, and he has a unique sound of his own along with a unique tone.
That guitar solo along with the voices is something more than amazing
This song deserves so much more attention
190 people do not understand what true beauty is.

My favorite song off the Labyrinth album and my favorite song by them in general. Love it! It's so beautiful. Veronica looks absolutely stunning and divine, especially in the scene where she's walking down the stairs. Absolutely wonderful.
She definitely gave me chills on the stairway scene
This song has touched every nerve cell in my body!
I've been watching this guys videos for about an hour now. Every music video is a fucking piece of art. This guys have so much talent I can't believe I just found out about them.
Pure Genius. One of my few favorites (Prologue, Epilogue, Labyrinth).
Love the heavy, melodic sound of this song
I met Paolo on tour 7 days before this album came out. Great guy! He sold me a copy for $7. I told him I would have paid $700. At the time, I would have. But anyway, I love these guys for their cohesive theme. Italian folks producing music steeped in Italian lore and traditions. They are such a great metal band!
Everyone I know that’s met the band has an incredible story. They’re literally angelic I swear.
Underrated masterpiece🔥
fun fact the drummer is the guys who writes everything in this video he played drums from 2009-2017. minus clean vocals and piano and orchestra and bass. he now fronts the band and playing guitar. Francesco Paoli-a fucking legend.
Still remembering when they play this song on sonicfair 2016 !!! Hollyshit so beautyful...
Ok buddy, i came from future, and i just wanna tell that is beautiful, not beautyful
My favorite workout song (spinning/treadmill), so fast, so powerful, so energetic
This is by far one of the greatest things I have ever heard. I love metal, I love Opera. I love this.
So freakin' beautiful omfg
