Wow! Beautiful scenery and gorgeous filming. This is what flying is about!
It really is! Such an awesome weekend!
I just recently decided to go for my private pilot cert. Been watching tons of training videos and reviews on planes but this was the first time I got to see people out flying around having fun, doing the kind of stuff I want to do! Awesome video!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Best of wishes with your private! Thanks for the kind words
Spectacular images! What amazing views.
Fantastic videography and story telling. I spent a summer flying survey in that area a couple years ago. Beautiful country!
I’m not a video guy but really appreciated the production of the opening sequence. The editing was great and the music a great match
Cessna 180’s and 185’s always add a touch of class to any UA-cam production. 👏👏👍 Thanks guys. Steph, go for the 57 or earlier C180, get the best of the 170 handling and the 180 load capabilities without the fuel cost and expense of the 185. Unless you can find the best of the breed the IO-470 powered C185.
I love those older 180s!
Wow. Looks like a great time with absolutely amazing scenery. Great video Jon and Steph.
Certainly one for the books! Thanks for following along...share the new vid around with others!
Favourite bush flying video. AMAZING!!!!
I flew 1100 mile solo through squirrelly southeast weather and I’m now parked at KVNC watching you in Alaska! Awesome! I’m now a permanent Florida resident. When you’re back in Florida I want a lesson! Keep the videos coming.
Haha...sounds like a fun trip! Southeast is always a challenge passing through!
Awesome video! Been watching your stuff and studying your website for a few years now. Great videos good times.
Awesome, thank you!
I did enjoy this. I am a single engine type myself with a seaplane rating. I teach bushcraft and survival so if ever any of you find yourself in the Kootenay region of SE British Columbia then I will trade you some fire skills for a flight. Keep making the films please and thanks again.
I knew I found you somewhere else on UA-cam. I found your boating channel when I was researching info for my boat. You have such a distinct voice I knew it couldn't be anyone else but you. Very good videos btw over there.
Many happy hours spent at Birchwood.
If there is such a thing as having too much fun, you mates are having it. Lovely video!
We try!
Video and editing quality is coming along really nicely. Aside from the beautiful scenery and impressive piloting, the little touches really made the flick. Thanks for sharing!
Great video! Seen it for the 4th time now. Happy to finally say that I can experience the «same» flight in VR on MSFS. Only thing missing are good friends and a campfire
This is my dream!
I want to fly around Alaska. See some nature.
Agreeing with one footed outdoorsman love the video
So badass! Awesome video watching it on my TV now
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful scenery, check you windshield gasket looks like it's leaking on the dash.
Love the side by side flying, also the graphics are mint
Wow, an awesome and inspiring video. Thank you for making it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing scenery and editing job. Great Vid!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Share it around!
That paxson area is pretty sweet... that grasshopper strip near Knik has gotten really rough... still a fun one to land at
I've watched before and yes enjoyed it each time. Something that puzzled me was why would you go to Birchwood after leaving Palmer, then fly to Knik.
Beautiful view and very nice music ❤️💎thank you so much 🎼💚💙
Sitting at 33 hours and starting checkride prep. Can't wait to get in a tailwheel after I get the magic paper!
Nice Job! Good luck on the checkride!
Livin the dream....enjoy✌
THat was a great little film .I loved it. Keep it up and it looked like a lot of fun. 👍👍👍
Thanks Simon!
I’m currently doing my ppl training, and I got to say, this look like an awesome adventure. I just want to fly more when I see those kind of video!
Good luck with the training! It's an amazing feeling to get out there and fly! Let us know if you have any questions on our ground school courses to help with the ppl :)
So cool flying around with your crew like that
Videos are looking great! I saw you come in to Lake Hood last week, my apartment has a great view of the Merrill patten and international arrivals/departures. Nothing like sitting on the balcony plane watching and seeing familiar faces. Blue skies!
The best sound in the mountains, is a Cessna 185 taking off. My old man had 3 of em!
This is super cool!👍
I'm in love with your 170
It's pretty damn hard to beat!
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 I have been in love with tailwheel airplanes since I was a little kid and my uncle finished building his first champ and took me up from his grass strip in Central Missouri. Now he is on his 3rd or 4th, he actually found his grandpa's old champ and totally restored it. A 170 can just do so much more, and has such beautiful styling.
Awesome! Theres nothing like the sound of a loud prop echoing around a valley. that was my favorite part.
Great video! Saw you in Gulkana getting fuel after the flyin. Then saw you again in Seldovia. You have quite a life. Nice landings Steph!
We certainly do! Thanks! It's awesome to share it with the vids👍
Thanks doodle dude, enjoyed this footage. The open water and bikinis are pretty kool as well.
Great drone footage and incredible scenery
Glad you enjoyed it
Man...This is awesome. Yes yes and yes
Awesome video. Been watching lots of your checkride videos but this was cool to see. I hope one day I could go fly out in Alaska like this.
I hope so too!
Great video! Love Bush Flying!
beautiful place to explore
Lets see that 185 and more of the 170 .Happy Landings
Haha...they're cool birds!
@@fly8ma.comflighttraining199 I like all Cessna tail daggers 170,180 and 185.
That was a great video. What fun!
Great footage and editing! This short movie is great motivation for me to keep studying and training. What you're doing here with everyone on this trip is the dream! I see lots of familiar aircraft from the Anchorage area.
I used your online Private Pilot Written Prep Boot Camp and Premium Ground School courses. I just took the private pilot written test this weekend and got a 95. So I'd say the material helped a lot! Next up is scheduling the checkride in a few weeks. Then after that I will on to tailwheel training.
Congrats on the great score Ryan! Let us know if there's anything we can do to help get you checkride ready. Cheers!
Goals!! Loving your edits and drone shots Jon. Wish I could have the sound of the 180/185 takeoff as my ring tone. Your bearhawk is a great bird! Nice flying you two.
Haha... that'll certainly be quite the noise to wake up to! I'll try to clip out an audio clip for ya👍
This is beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did. I am South Africa and I got to visit Alaska a few months ago. A friend took me in his Jet boat to Knik Glacier, and we stop round about the area you guys did.
Next time, I come up am definitely visiting your lodge.
Best video ever!!!!! Keep making those Alaska flying videos.
Thanks Don! Share it around!
Those drone shots were awesome.. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it! Share it around!
awesome flying! Working on my private pilots cert and this is definitely some motivation! I live in southeast alaska so im really wanting to do some adventuring!
Such a great video. If only I could convince the wife to move to Alaska.
Very good short film, keep them coming.
It was fun making it!
That's an awesome adventure!
I'm an A&P and a Commercial student, and I'm really contemplating moving up there. It just seems like most the aviation requirements are a little intimidating for a new guy.
Come on up! It's a great community up here of folks!
I can't imagine you not being welcome. yoiu can build experience with die hards there,
want to be more popular ? take women and needed supplies.
Great edit! Thank you for sharing. Now I got to put fat tires on my 172 and come up to AK...
Do it!!!!
You really need to buy some bush wheels. I know that you are careful but you're gonna break something. Not like I know. BTW; did you fix that headliner yet?
Best line of the day!!!
S: "Where you at?"
J: "10 feet..."
Haaahahaha, made my day!
Gorgeous video guys!!
Beautiful
I want to do this…I will do this….Amazing video!!!
Things you cannot see from your SUV.
Had overlooked the extended daylight hours that flying in Alaska
Hi from turkey thank you for video
Save a buck. Keep the 170.
Great vid!!!
Great adventure! Would it be hard to incorporate maps to the locations you are landing at. I have been using google maps and skyvector to follow along as best as I can from you narrative. Thanks and be safe!
Wonderful video, but how do you get the shots pRticularly of the two aircraft together
.do you have a drone or another aeroplanes filming?
Enjoyed the video!!!
Great job
Thanks! Share it around! Hope others can experience flying up north here✈️
Crazy how little views this awesome video has
Only 27,000 views. What an incredibly under appreciated video of flying in beautiful outback Alaska!
It’s because he’s an ass and nobody wants to watch him destroy a beautiful bearhawk. I really hope that’s he owns aircraft with the way he treats it.
Great job on your drone work and editing!
Thank you! 👍
lil 'nan on the dash. gotta respect.
Great video!! Looked like a blast
It was!
Awesome video.
Fun times!
Very fun following you on this video. Would love to fly out there someday! It's a long ways from my base in Tampa!
It's worth the trip👍
Beautiful video - thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice video. Thanks
Great vid . cool scenery
Would you recommend an IFR for this or do you think a PPL is enough? I work for the airlines and working on my pilot certs. I wanna take one of my first ppl flights in Alaska or Hawaii!
It’s my dream to do a trip like this! Awesome video with great editing Jon
It's a must do!
John will they be having another 180/185 fly in next summer 2022? I’m out in king salmon AK and would love you to join the next
Awesome!!
Great Video 🤙
Appreciate it!
28:45 That view!!!
It's a special place!
I bet you're not missing the regionals while flying in AK. Lately I wonder why I ever left...?
Film maker or CFI? Love the content. What's next after Alaska?
I don't think there's any place better!!!
Pull the trigger on the 185! And then do a comparison with the Bearhawk Model 5... :)
Haha! That would be sweet!
I am so jealous that you can go out and do this I got a bad case of pilot envy and I'm not even a pilot
O M G! this video made my day!
Yay! Thank you!
Great video, Beautiful country up there.
It really is!
Awesome video!
Thanks! Share it around!
Amazing...
Very nice!
Great video guys 👍
Awesome editing
Thanks! It was an awesome trip!
Whatever happened to 186BP? Last time I saw it, it appeared ground looped in Dumas, Texas and was being loaded on a trailer.
We got rid of last September...not sure who has it now...sad to hear it ground looped
Absolutely love your bush flying videos - - - but are you no longer living in Florida and doing flight instruction?
Still do flight instruction, but no longer living in FL...tired of the heat and can't stay away from the mountains!
Awesome video guys!!!
Who sings that song 2:30 minutes in?
Very good footage, wish i can do a similar trip one day
Totally worth it! Looking forward to more this coming summer👍
Question: I'm currently in ground school and I am wondering how 2 planes can take off on the same runway at the same time. Does that require special endorsements and/or permission?
have u ever visited Eagle Airport (EAA/PAEG)?
No i haven't flown in there before.
Jimmy sure has a nice wagon
Yup! It's a sweet bird!
