I must concur. Awesome footage and what a fantastic place to fly, experience and explore. Can't wait to get back up there and get back into the outback flying!!!!! There's nothing better............PERIOD!!!
This is torture to a pilot who hasn't been able to fly recently, but I can't stop watching! The little changes in the pitch of the engine, the wobbles in the wings, the sound of the plane touching down on the gravel, the motion of the Cubs going into a steep bank right after takeoff sets off a twinge in my gut. I can feel my stomach move with the planes, hear my instructor telling me to feel the airplane move through the seat of my pants like it was just earlier today. I can feel the vibrations of the engine as the RPMs change, feel that indescribable feeling when your wheels leave the ground. My hand subconsciously tightens like I'm pulling back on the stick, my leg muscles twitch like I've got rudder pedals under my feet. I can't help but smile as each scene sends memories springing to the forefront of my mind, of good times, scary times, learning times. I yearn to actually be there, to actually feel the plane in my gut. It makes me realize that flying is really what I'm meant to be doing. It's what I love, and I can't get enough.
17 years in Alaska, I would like to start my passion in piloting, like I should of done so 12 years ago. This videos continues to give me hope that I can still do it. Thank you for a beautiful and inspiring film.
I've watched your previous Alaska film at least 50 times. I thought that was the coolest video on all of UA-cam. That is until I saw this one. Somehow you've raised the bar even further, and renewed my total infatuation with bush flying all over again. Phenomenal film!
Absolutely love the sights and sounds, and narration, of this video. The C-185 engine sounds peacefully haunting in the serene beauty and backdrop of the Rohn airstrip.
I waited in anticipation. I was not disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed every second of this. Easily the best work I’ve seen from you, and you just keep getting better man! Great job.
I love seeing these older planes that are still to this day the best for that type of flying and still being maintained and used for what they were meant for..
Hey 737 pilot here, flying out of Canada. I'm going back to flying the turboprop with everything going on with the COVID. Just came on here to get a break from the training. Jealous of what you all get to do. Love the tradition, keep it up gentlemen!
Well, consider that it's just a movie of footage from a short period of time, telling the story I want to be living. I returned home to my 2 kids and the grind as a software developer. Since having kids I fly about 25 hours per year. It sucks. At least you're in the cockpit!
When I was a kid I dreamed of flying fast jets, as a young adult I dreamed of flying big jets. Now that I'm over 50, aviation paradise is in Alaska, and you bush pilots are elected. You practice one of the 2 purest forms of aviation, the other is the one I practice: mountain gliding ... Thank you for sharing this with us, your images are absolutely superb. You have a lot of talent. Friendly greetings from France.
So beautiful and awesome, well done!! What can be better than that? Those birds are incredible, the STOL's wow!! Thank you for this amazing video, keep them coming! Safe skies!
In 2001 I had the privilege of seeing exactly what these Alaskan Bush pilots could do. BEYOND AMAZING. I spent about 5 months outside Big Lake and was privileged enough to get a total of 8 hours of flying in myself. There are no better pilots on Earth than the ALASKAN BUSH PILOTS
Some of the best scenery I’ve seen on UA-cam, some beautiful planes and flying in the video too. Put all these things together and you have a video that brings a tear to your eye. Cause your not there but still get to see it. Or could be just me.
Excellent video, thanks for producing it. Some trivia for you- N185SN once belonged to Steve and Norma Knopp of Pponk fame. We hauled fish with it out of King Salmon back in the 80s.
Low and slow love it! I especially liked the scene of the cessna holding 30 feet short of the active 2-track gravel runway(20' wide?) that was pointed at a very large immovable mountain......and that sketchy punk blue paint scheme.
This video was brilliant. You've masterfully captured aviation and Alaskan landscape. I also really appreciated your aviation filmography. Well done! - Lifelong Alaskan and aviation nerd.
Great work to everyone involved in producing this excellent video, you really feel part of the adventure taking place, life is for living and living it you are !
I love the "hasn't been painted or washed since 1955" look of that 170. Something about it just really cool!
Outstanding video! The scenery, editing, narration. 10/10
steveo1kinevo thanks Steveo!
I think this is the best aviation video I've ever seen on UA-cam. Such amazing work, sir!
MrAviation101 sir you are correct. Ditto that 100%

Planes look like a ton of fun, the scenery is magic but the short take offs and landings early in the video were truly something.
