I think for him this is the easier part. He has a good pitch. Its harder to analyse every slammed key.

Dude can you imagine playing this for an audience and leading them on for a while and right before you hit the last notes you just walk away and blue ball everybody?
Many pianists will repeat the last section, several times, for that exact comedic reason.

I’m not sure if this correct but the piano keys being played are correct as for the scene to be animated they made the pianos play the song automatically so in a way they aren’t playing it wrong at all

This is correct. They are player pianos! The ones used in this movie are MIDI controlled rather than the pneumatic mechanisms that had been powering them since the early 1900s. This way, the device (that is usually attached below the keyboard) could be hidden and out of sight. The MIDI capable hardware was relatively new at the time and revolutionized how these things work to this day. It was a genius move to use them for this purpose in the 80s! It's still incredibly fun to look at.

Well at least they got one thing right, but seeing how it's actually played is pretty hilarious if these films and shows ever plan on remastering you should send your videos to the ones tasked with remastering the movies and shows
I like to imagine they wanted to synchronize the keys with what Daffy was playing but because of budget constraints could only afford that end
I specifically looked to see if you did this video. The irony is, the pianos are actually playing the correct notes in the scenes. You just can't see past the animations of Daffy and Donald, to see them being "pressed." Just one more reason Toons can do the impossible in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
. . . . .Aren’t those pianos live action though? How could they be wrong?? I know that Daffy is animated, but the pianos are real ones and I believe that they actually even had to set them up in. A way that allowed these pianos to be played automatically, because it was only Daffy that was using this one, not any of the real, live action actors.
No you’re right. The piano was playing the right keys (although it’s also possible they just added the music in post and the piano was just doing random keys but it looks right if you go back and forth) but daffy was just hitting the keys wrong

Roger Rabbit is a work of art while Chip & Dale's movie is a piece of crap.
@@PKMN37 I’ve heard plenty of people liking the film and that kind of eager me to take a look, though what turned me off originally was the jokes and many pointless cameos. I haven’t seen it yet, so I don’t have word on my opinion about it.

The Animation was wrong at playing Hungarian Rhapsody no.2 but if you look closely at the piano instead of the hands, you can clearly see that the piano is doing the correct keys. It was until the end that Daffy Duck looked like he played correctly

Watched this movie a few nights ago and the entire time that scene was on I was like “that’s probably not right” in reference to this channel lol
With it playing side by side with the original scene, it seems funny, but in a ridiculously accurate way.

Those pianos are player pianos. They’re technically playing the song correctly, but the animation that’s been added to the scene doesn’t match up perfectly with the notes being played in real life.

There's a difference between which keys Daffy is hitting, and which keys the player piano plays.

Even though it looks like Daffy's just slamming the keys, those pianos aren't animated and were actually rigged to play themselves. They just animated the characters over it. So technically it's still correct.

This is completely unrealistic. There were no hammers, chickens or boxing gloves anywhere. There wasn't even a single elbow.

I learned this song in 3 days and I can play along with it. I am very happy.
Given that it takes classically trained pianists months, if not years to learn and perfect this piece, one of the most challenging pieces in the entire classical piano repertoire, I highly doubt it.
@@mikeward1701 I'm talking about the part SPECIFICALLY used in Roger Rabbit. Also, it's highly simplified. Still, it was challenging to learn.
