      What if i want to add some darker brown to my roots as well? Like a color melted root (not shadow root) would i need to do that after this toning session or before?

    thanks for solving my problem! I didn't want to lift my virgin hair with the developer. Had that problem before. But I didn't even THINK to get a different brand's 6 volume. What a great idea! I am going to do this! Thanks so much!

    I use to be blonde and finally changed it a few months ago to Deep Auburn Red and I am loving it. I always thought I would be blonde and never change it but here I am with red hair lol. Great video.

    THIS is EXACTLY what I needed to see!! I absolutely DO NOT want to lighten my base/root color, I simply want to tone the slightly reddish/yellow tones I have after highlighting my hair. I'm so glad I didn't use that 20 volume that the Wella toners call for! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

      Did you find the 6% volume toner? If so, where? I can’t find it and also don’t want to mess up my roots. Thanks!

    • @justanotherday3969
      @justanotherday3969 Рік тому

      @Kathryn Frost Actually, you can use 10-volume developer and diluting it with 40% tap water which is the same as 6% volume. I am NOT a hairdresser, I got this information online, but you can also use full-body conditioner instead of water for a thicker consistency. The reason I specified full body conditioner is because you don't want all the ingredients that are in moisturizing type conditioners to interfere with the developer doing its job. You can Google this process online for better understanding. Good luck!

    • @sandeeking4488
      @sandeeking4488  4 роки тому +8

      It wont darken your roots, it'll lighten your roots, thats why I said use the 6 volume (non lifting developer) because you will lift the hair thats dark, resulting in more orangeness 😣

    You look beautiful! Thank you for showing the mixture ratio and the end result. My hair is level 10 lightened blonde and my natural medium brown roots are really over grown over here! I've been sick, and I never let my roots get longer than 1 inch! I am scared that it's not going to work to good when I lighten these roots today and I wanted to mix toners for more dimension and to hopefully blend out the brassy areas I'm in for because I waited too long, I'm going to pull more gold than usual! I need that t11 to balance out that, and good ole t18 for the nicer, normal parts! I am considering t10 and t18

    • @sandeeking4488
      @sandeeking4488  3 роки тому +4

      YES!!! If you dont want your base color affected by the lifting developer, PLEASE use the 6% and have a wet washcloth available to do a swatch test after about 3 minutes to see if thats the level of tone you want, another cheap alternative for after care that I do truly love is the shimmer lights shampoo and conditioner, there are none licensed girls who say it sucks, but I doubt they read the back! Read the back, it needs to sit on the hair for about 7-8mins I believe it says, so like shave etc. while letting it sit..rinse then use the conditoner, I myself LOVE it! It helps with keeping it nice and toned, & before re-highlighting you can always tone again using the 6 volume to refresh :D

      I would def recommend adding a litte more T18 then the T11..If your fully blonde and have no natural color on your roots, I would recommend 20volume peroxide, because it'll lift as it tones & leave it on for about 10-15mins even 20 if its REALLY orange..but remember to keep EYEING it! wipe off some with water and a towel, everyone's hair processes differently :)

    Thank you so much for this!!! I was a level 9/10 with a few highlights at a 10/12. I was getting so frustrated with the full "ashness" the T14 and T18 would give when used alone. It would create cool spots and warm spots and wouldn't blend perfectly. Today, I used the T11 and T18 mixture you recommend, except I used 20 vol developer (was all I had on hand). It turned out the most perfect wheat blonde!! Woop woop! Next time, I will find some 6 vol developer to keep the dimension in my hair. But for now, especially since its summer, it looks amazing!!! Thank you again!

I myself don't like the stress of causing any unnecessary brass, haha. I found this on amazon: "Wella Color Tango Developer 6 Volume - 2oz" .. hope this helps! xO.

    Im so soo late to comment but ur vid is nice & easily explained. Only thing is 6 vol is sooo not 6% its more like 1.9% lol i do hair and that makes a difference from deposit only to lift! Anyway u have really nice hair! Keep up the good work.

    I know that right girl. I do my own hair too. I’ll nag and moan during the process . But happy I stuck to doing my hair at the end

      WOOOT WOOOT!! THANK YOU!!! lol..I don't need ANYONE frying my hair! People can be careless..I got a chemical cut from a stylist..she bleached my waist length hair! It ended up to my shoulders! It just kept getting shorter and shorter! It finally grew back after 6years!!

    Very pretty! I have never used Wella. I use Schwarzkopf Professional to double process my hair. I am sooo overdue to do mine, but I am trying to work out filming it bc it's been requested a lot. I guess a LOT of people want to bleach and tone their hair.😊🌻😁🌻🌺

      @sandeeking4488  5 років тому

      Yea! It took me a long time to do my hair because I knew that the next time I did my hair I wanted to film it! It's actually pretty easy, I just used a flexible tri pod that bends and hooked it to my bathroom mirror 😀If that's what your viewers want then you should def. film it! Id love to see it also! 😀💕

    • @LadyBorgia

      @@sandeeking4488 Thanks! I actually do my hair in my kitchen rather than the bathroom bc my kitchen is huge and I have white barstools (lol that I cover in plastic) I use as hair dressing chairs that are super comfortable to sit in. I have a lot of details both for application, safety and and I how I decide my ratios ect (I figure if I'm going to do it finally I want to make it a good one lol.) I have a gooseneck clamp that's good for filming the counter with products and mixing, it's just getting an extra mirror now bc I won't be able to use the one on my ring light (I'll be explaining that in the video too) and a few other things. Now just to see if I have enough time to both film AND do my hair this week or if I need to film it in 8 weeks. I really want to try for this week if at all possible!😊 I know filming anything def makes it take longer !😊😁

      Ummm err that is what the video is for. To show you how to do it yourself. It doesnt take a rocket science to mix 1 oz of toner 2 ozs of developer, apply to hair and wait 15 mins.

      Sandee King Hi! I'm waiting on my toner in the mail. My Sally's is closed due to Corona virus. I'm curious how long the toner lasts when I wash my hair 3-4 times a week? Also, do you wash your hair with a purple or blue shampoo in between toning, about once a week? Thank you 😊

  • @elizabethmcgiveney7512
    @elizabethmcgiveney7512 4 роки тому +2

    How long does the toner typically last in your hair?

    • @sandeeking4488
      @sandeeking4488  4 роки тому +1

      Elizabeth McGiveney it’ll last awhile, I’d say like 5 weeks it won’t ever take it back to its original brassiness but the hue of the toner will def fade, you can always buy some shimmer lights shampoo & conditioner in between toning! Leave the shampoo on for 5 mins then rinse, & follow up with the conditioner! 🤗💕

    Is it ok to get toner in the brown of the hair? Will it affect the non highlighted hair?

    • @sandeeking4488
      @sandeeking4488  3 роки тому +1

      Not if you use 6% developer, it’s deposit only..I wouldn’t recommend leaving it on for over 8mins

      Sandee Dee keep on going with your channel! You have the beautiful hair, hair color came out Amazing, your good at make up, but don’t box yourself in with just beauty. Do family vlogs, shopping, decorating, cleaning, cooking. I’m going to start my channel, but throw in health issues and KraKrazyness with my girls. You have the looks market up your channel. This is the best high light tutorial I have seen. I got myself the developer you recommended and I will do it tomorrow.
      What is your base color? I used a toner on my base and it is not coloring the grays 😡

      That’s why I used 6% volume peroxide... it won’t lift your hair, it just deposits, so it doesn’t affect your base color at all 😁

    When you use Wella t18 and t11 with the 6% developer, does it help tone out the red/brassiness from the base color?

    Did your roots lift at all? I highlighted my level 2 hair and it is at a good level 9/10 after, and i need to tone it badly but I’m scared the toner will lift! I am using the same wella toners and 10v developer

    • @sandeeking4488
      @sandeeking4488  Рік тому

      No babe they didn't, you need to purchase a 6% peroxide developer (its deposit only & of course a toner) and it won't touch your base color only what's highlighted. Everyone's hair is different, so keep an eye on it. Use a wet washcloth to wipe off some developer from a highlighted piece and see if its the tone you're looking for. KEEP AN EYE ON IT! Very important. Then rinse out! Have fun babe! Hope this helps!
