- Painting terracotta Rudraksh beads and getting the design and texture as close as possible. You may use one part brown and half part orange to get the color. To scrape out excess paint you may use a sandpaper or a fired terracotta surface and any rough surface or a strainer. Once this is done, you can brush off the dust and varnish it.
Please use gloves and a mask if needed.
Also this method works only for red earthen ware clay which is bisque fired.

Sure you can try. You may get a different effect on scraping though if it's a plain bead.
Did u bake them before coloring
Or just air dried
Please suggest best clay for terracota jewelry in USA
I am from new Jersey
These are bisque fired at cone 06.
You can try Laguna EM106 or Laguna EM334 wards. These are two I use. Very good plasticity and great to work with. Hope this helps.

@@nehagopinathpillai yes ma'am I do lot of set's. But no one is buying it. How can I share my work with u... To take suggestions mam
@@deepikaanimator4286 selling takes time, I still go through challenges there. It's necessary to have a good foundation and strong marketing skills to make a product click in the market. Terracotta is a very commonly sold product with a lot of competition. There are times when I don't sell a single product for a while and then some months turn out better than expected. I can give you a feedback on your work if that's what you want. You may email a few of your best (not all please) to me on paintedearthbyneha@gmail.com.
@@nehagopinathpillai thank you so much mam. Really very kind of u. Thought I m not able to sell them. I m enjoying doing them badly
Very useful video. What kind of clay do you use and where do you buy it?
Thank you so much! I use low fire earthen ware clay. I buy from a studio close by here in the US.
@@nehagopinathpillai Thanks so much for the reply. I live in the US too. I was looking for clay in amazon. Is this something closer to what you buy?

@@nehagopinathpillai Also, do you bake these in regular conventional oven? At what temperature?
@@lavanyahemanth nope, its done in an electric kiln. I don't own a kiln so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there. Bisque firing happens at cone 06. Approx 1012 degrees Celsius.
@@nehagopinathpillai thanks so much

Thank u so much mam.
You are welcome!
Thank u
You are welcome!
Lovely technics neha! 👌 Unfortunately my beads will be black so probably i will have to devise a new one for the texture.😢👌 Beautifully explained as usual!👌👌👌
Thank you so much! You can try this if your beads are black fired - you can paint the whole bead brown as shown in the video and then lightly dab undiluted light brown paint on the surface on the bead. That way you get pretty close to what this bead looks like.
@@nehagopinathpillai thanks for the suggestion neha! You are a dear. Will definitely try that!
Why my paint faded in few days . And it's dull also? .in metallic colors can I use varnish or not ?
You can use varnish to protect the paint job.
Thank you ❤️

Mam iam Getting cracks while rotating clay
Moisten it and knead it before you roll it into beads. Don't spend too much time rolling. The heat in your palms can also dry out the clay.
Mam I want vision that bowl and lid make u near Sankranti I hope u up loud that vision pls mam
