    It’s not so much that these mechanics are considered important, but any time you can learn to control your car differently through learning a new mechanic that experience and muscle memory will come in handy during actual game play. So, maybe the mechanic itself is not useful, but learning to control your car in unexpected ways during different scenarios is.

    • @thecakeredux
      @thecakeredux 3 роки тому

      I agree. Learning a ceiling musty has improved my entire aerial and ceiling play, especially in situation with low space, because it forces you to be faster and more precise in manipulating your hitbox and tapping boost in different stages of your rotation to re-position mid-air. If a mechanic seems hard to do, it's exactly what you should learn to improve.

    • @skyrim1342
      @skyrim1342 3 роки тому

      Lets just say: I dont know why you guys struggle with it.... but I can score it a lot in 1s and 2s. I scored it in 3s a few times, just because its better to pass most of the time. You hit it below the ceiling. The first defender goes up. If you are somewhat Good, the ball is super close to the ceiling und you can stall below it quick, you dont Need to spin around like crazy or wait for anything, you just Stall, and this First defender is gonna miss by a mile! Yeah thats you @Felix Merz xD
      In 3s, one of them is might be backboard. But not all the time, I mainly counter attack with it. you dont have the space for the setup otherwise in 3s xD now you either slam it on the backboard or you slam it in the goal. Btw dont Stall perfectly under the ball, it makes the Shot slow like freestylers do, just save some forword momentum. I works for me, because its actually kinda easy if you Play with higher deadzones

    I mean you're talking mostly about stuff used in the form of it being fancy more than actually useful in competitive like the breezi or the stall. How are they overrated if they're not even considered as useful shots or mechanics but considered more as fancy looking, just like 99% of freestyle shots. You doing a breezi isn't because it's useful it's because it's fancy, just like other forms of musty flicks. Same goes with stalls when literally it's only used for extra resets which again people use it with the intent of making their shot look better.

    I'm using the wavedash kickoff because I am unable to do the other fast variants with the flip because I'm just not precise enough with my thumb. While beating most players with it, I also can kinda backup the kickoff if I fail it and still get kind of a delayed one.
    Also it gets you more practice in wavedashes in general and they are very useful to have mastered!
    Adding the fact that compared to the others on the list it is quite easy to learn, it should not be on it at all.

    • @thecakeredux

      Even a simple front flip kickoff is better than a wavedash kickoff and with wavedashes being pretty much the number 1 used mechanic when moving around the field (spared maybe flips/speedflips), you definitely do not need that one additional piece of excersize on kickoff.

      If you want to, you should just learn it. With learning stalls you’ll improve your aerial/car/ball control. There’s no down side to learning to stall besides it taking time. I use it in 2s comp as well when theres an opportunity for it. Sometimes you can hit the ball at weird angles by doing a stall.

  • @mirageoce7849
    @mirageoce7849 3 роки тому

    Criticism of this video.
    1) Flip resets. Overrated? Maybe at lower ranks idk, they seem very useful to me. I use them pretty much every time I have the ball up the wall. Get the reset, airdribble a little bit and then flick. I'd argue you have waaaaaay more options with a reset then just airdribbling. Also, they are NOT HARD TO PULL OFF. Its literally just popping the ball up, flying to it and putting your wheels onto the ball. I think many people can become very consistent at these with a little practice.
    2) Wavedash kickoff is UNDERRATED. Sure, you dont get to the ball faster but unless the opponent is doing a fast kickoff to put the ball to the side, you usually challenge anyway so I don't see the big deal. Also I think the method for the wavedash kickoff shown in this video is wrong but each to their own I guess.
    3) Agree for wall pinches. Disagree for ground pinches, those are useful and quite consistent
    4) Breezi flick go nyooooom. But yeah, ur right, not great in comp.
    5) Stalling. Lots of people saying stall is useless because they are only focussing on its offensive aspects when flip resetting or whatever. Stalling can actually be useful, especially when defending with low boost and you need to stay in the air longer, and yes I realize that is not a good position to be in but we all make mistakes and this one has gotten me out of a few of them. I had an example in comp 2s this morning ( Currently 1470 - 1500 mmr ) where I was defending on the low backboard with maybe 12 boost and the guy on other team was aerialing he was about to pop it over me as he had more momentum and I had already jumped off bb. I stalled to maintain my altitude and reduce my momentum so that I remained in the same spot. I ended up getting a soft touch to the side which would not have been possible with a dodge. This sounds really bad when I put it into words but trust, it worked. That said, it is VERY situational and really, there should be no reason to actually use this mechanic regularly but good to pick up just to add to your arsenal. I don't see why this is in an overrated video tho? Who in the world is hyping up stalls lol. Freestylers do it to get back to the ceiling or get resets but I don't think that makes them overrated.
    I kinda feel like this video is a bit stupid but thats just my opinion. Have a nice day

    Man, that wave dash kickoff thing speaks to me. When you get a mate who wave dash kickoffs you just know that the game is going to be an absolute shitfest of someone overcommitting while trying mechanics way above their pay grade in the most patheticly failing ways imaginable. Just STOP it. There is nothing surprising about it, nothing fast, nothing boost conserving, it's not giving you any advantage whatsoever, quite the opposite, it's wasteful and slow. Bad kickoff. Bad. And worst of all, it's not even fancy. It's a gold mechanic, get over it.

    Fluump I respectfully disagree with the wavedash kickoff being on this list, I've seen 1v1 matches where players like joroeuz, apparentlyjack, and Okhalid do it. Also the only reason a lot of us plebeians use the wavedash kickoff instead of speedflipping like the pros is because we aren't pros and can't consistently speedflip

    A thing i've seen a lot is that when people talk about mechanics, they think about the flashy mechanics (ceiling shots, flip reset, air dribble, double tap, etc). But we should talk more about the basic mechanics (power shots, power slide, air car control, wave dash, shot accuracy, etc)
    I've even seen pros doing this mistake. Kaydop said in one of his videos that he doesn't have good mechanics. Yes, kaydop, one of the best player in the world in my opinion, especially with the basic mechanics. This guy is one of the most prolific scorer of all time, he just knows how to shoot the ball in the net, don't tell me he doesn't have good mechanics.
    Today, we can see gold players that can do flip resets or ceiling shots but can't even shoot the ball or powerslide, that is a problem in my opinion.
    Anyway, good video Flump :)

  • @GhostInspired
    @GhostInspired 3 роки тому

    Breezi flick I will argue is very useful to learn, the mechanical control it teaches a player + the ability to confuse your opponent on your way to net is always good.
    Occasionally going for a breezi can make an opponent freeze in net, not knowing what's coming, and if you are vsing a higher level opponent who can see it coming it gives you the choice to fake the flick and catch the ball again, which then gives you three more options to do a different flick, dribble around, low 50.
    Any mechanic that gives more options for the following up play is always worth learning and spending time to master. In anyone's top 10 professional players list... 8/10 of the those players can breezi, flip reset, and pinch shot. Pinches don't have to go on net... being able to hit a solid pinch is a great option to clear the ball in high pressure situations, and if you score with 10 boost on a pinch across field, even better. Better off practicing these mechanics to have the option in game than not practicing them and never having a chance when the opportunity arises.

    I found a mechanic using stall that makes you win every 50/50.
    You remember the Vibro Multiple flip resets right? It's the same concept but do it in 50/50s and instead of just flipping, spam the stall inputs as fast as you can. It'll give you like 4-5 stalls and in the end you'll win the fifty 99% of the time.
    Not gonna lie, this is so hard that I only landed it multiple times in a bot match and in private matches with friends..... But I'm only C3, who knows what pros could be able to do with it?

  • @triz77
    @triz77 3 роки тому

    some pros do use a wave dash kick off. just a different variant of it. they single jump into the ball then wavedash to get a quick recovery, I've seen apparentlyjack use it a lot in 1v1 games.

    Hey im the breezy guy hahaha I grinded the breezy for like 3 days now and I couldn't agree more. It's still hard for me and I mainly just do it for fun because it's just satisfying to hit it in casual or a private match with friends haha. I don't think I will ever go for one in ranked tho.

    me a plat...spent a week grinding air dribbles and then double taps...then the flip reset for 2 weeks...and i can hit a single reset about 70% the time and to get a powerful one on net about 5% of the time...

    I use a wave dash kickoff on the right corner kickoff, mainly because i'm inconsistent with the diagonal flip cancel kickoff I use on the left corner kickoff. It works just fine! (GC1)

    For the most part, id agree to your statement you made up here..especially if you are plat or diamond but at a certain level of the game you have to come up with uncomfortable and less predictable stuff or else you make it basically to easy for your oppenents. Finding a good balance between smart, low risk plays and high risk, mechanical plays should be the main focus.

    I use wavedash kickoffs when losing so the ball bounces back my team’s corner where they have full boost and possession for a potential play.
    I’ve used stall when driving along the goal line wall with little boost, and have saved shots by stalling while flying across net to maintain my flight path, and in other similar situations with little boost.

    the entire point of the wavedash kickoff is to have a safe kickoff option that’s reliable. if you do it right you CANNOT get beat to the ball to the point where you don’t get a touch, even by a speedflip. it’s something to do when you don’t necessarily want to win the kickoff, but you also don’t want to lose it into your net

    correct in some aspects, yes practising power shots from anywhere on the pitch is probably one of the best things you can do, but some of these mechs (besides the wavedash kickoff, what the fuck is going on there) are specific to certain game modes. For example the kuxir pinch is great in ones, catches your opponent off guard of they are close enough to you, and if you do become consistent at it, it helps you in the highest level. the flip reset is easily one of the most useful mechs in the game, holding your flip and threating to use it at any stage in your play plays a big mind game, your opponent knows you have that flip and trys to preempt how you will use it, once you have it down, the world is your oyster and you can do whatever you like with it.

    Whewww I can’t believe the stall was #1. It’s one of the most insanely easy mechanics there are and for the 5 seconds of practice it takes to go “ah okay that’s real easy I can do that” you get access to the ability to kill your vertical speed any time you have a flip, which can be useful if you mess up off the wall or ceiling or if you need to “hang” in the air to stop a shot

    These are for people trying to grind comp but all of these are worth if ur trying to go for shots or becoming a freestyler

    I disagree with the stall, it actually has a use when youre going for fast aerials but sometimes youre slow to realize that you we're ascending too fast, the stall comes in handy it limits vertical movement and I do use them in games. 🤔 Let me know what you guys think of this

    if you have fun playing casual, freestyling or even customizing your car, go for it. just don't bring it to ranked

    Stalls are actually extremely useful on ceiling shots- not to get another flip reset, but when you're straight under the ball and can't flip because it'll put you off center stalling is a great way to catch someone off guard. And pinches you've only focused on wall pinches. Ground pinches are extremely useful and unpredictable and can have insane power height and placement.

    2 things that should be taken of this vid is flip reset and pinches i get pinches 8/10 at constantly and flip reset are really useful but just you need to know the time you want to learn it unless your a freestyle try learning flip resets at champ 1 or diamond 3 pinches depend on the person flump didn't do so great on this vis

    only reason why i half flip kick off is cause it's a great counter against speedflips imo, you can adjust your car better than committing with a flip and the consistency is great.

    Not as useful doesn’t mean overrated, a breezi is less useful than a normal front flip flick or something, but it’s not overrated, no one is saying it’s the better flick or something

    I see why the stall is overrated and pretty much useless but in my opinion it really isn't hard to learn. My deadzone is .15 or something and I think I spent like a day getting the basics and within a few days of just randomly doing it I could do it consistently.

    I only ever use the pinch when I have no boost and I need to get the ball on the other side of the court. It’s a good way to maximize power with nothing. If it goes in great lol, but I just want the ball away
