i think we should be able to actually run around as the egg people like what 2k did with all of the parks. we should be able to build a my career where you can pick your own car and customize your own egg guy. You could implement this into the ranked system as well.
Imagine if by playing this my career game mode we could upgrade our stats such as base speed, power when hitting the ball, height of jumps (maybe eventually get a third jump if the stat is high enough), boost efficiency, etc. We could have teams with players with different specializations and roles. I think that would be sick, but maybe because I love games where we can upgrade our characters.
I like it, but you'd need a playable single player experience with intelligent AI. I'm not sure why it's so difficult for them to create complex AI that actually poses a decent challenge.

If you changed the physics of the game, most of the long time players would be PISSED and stay on the first rocket league. Many pros would have to make major adjustments and rlcs wouldn't look as fast paced. With rlcs not looking as fast paced and competitive, it will lose viewers and ultimately sponsors and Rocket League will truly die
It's not about changing what the game is at its core, its about improving it with new features, such as better replays with added FX and whatnot for the console players, and, of course, creative mode. Psyonix aren't transparent with the community so we will never know when or what to expect the update to be like..
I guess I have an unpopular opinion but there definitely should be more refined physics in a newer game. Certain mechanics were never properly implemented because of the constrictions of the game engine at the time Rocket League was released. Compare RL to it's predecessor SARPBC and see how much better RL is... There is definitely a way to make it better and people could still play the original if they want but the thing is, of course RLCS won't be as fast paced right off the bat, people have to learn the game, that is obvious. To say it would be less competitive is completely wrong tho, it would be highly competitive because everyone essentially starts from scratch again. People with good game sense and mechanics would still have carryover for sure, they don't have to make an entirely new game but slight improvements to physics would be an evolution. I only played RL for 3 months and I'm high Diamond. It's not that difficult to learn a new game, don't let your fear of the new and unknown hold you back.
I dont think there needs to be a physics or graphics change personally but I do agree with the customization and meaningful updates idea cuz new cars just gets old, if psyonix dedicated a team to like server maintenance or bug fixes this game would be amazing, and game chat for the love of God game chat

Maybe if they release a "free version" of each hitbox and then have the licensed version with the different aesthetics ? I don’t know what they are gonna do with cosmetic but it’s gonna be particularly the same game with new game modes and story. I think the biggest thing would be car “classes”. Make one slower but more resistant to demos and better at making them. Make another car faster and use boost more efficiently but super vulnerable to bumps and demos. etc, etc… would make pro team composition an actual thing and would add entertainment to every match.
I’m fine with the horns as long as you can disable all horns in the match. I’m sure people would use macro’s to constantly horn which is going to ruin the focus in ranked. If you can disable it all it will be fine for me. I agree 100% with the underglow though.
This is making me so pumped for a Rocket League 2!!! Please God (and Psyonix) we need a Rocket League 2! Although it is my opinion that the OG players and freestylers would be very pissed if the physics changed too much. Hopefully they don't change the physics very much. They should do something that does not change something but instead adds something (if you know what I mean). They could add two strengths of boost or triple jump or a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 competitive gamemode or cars that can transform in the middle of the game (for instance you could be in the octane and dominus car and in the middle of the game you could switch between them for different scenarios). I dunno what y'all think but if we have creative mode and more gamemodes and maybe something like the things I was talking about I'll be very exited about Rocket League 2!!
We need a team mmr in ranked so you have different mmr with different people, this way the focus is not on the individual but on the team instead Adding a leveling system to the cars is another way to spice the game up, adding different spoilers, skirts and so one if you lvl your car
If you did this you could have 3 gc's, win a bunch of games. Have 1 player make a smurf account and join that team. boom, new team with new mmr? that wouldn't make sense.

I think the game is just way too focused on ranking up, plus the time it takes to get better as you mentioned. I think, the game should have new game modes that allow people to train and have fun at the same time. Not super certain how to do it but Heatseeker for example has helped me learn to aerial. If we can get at least the most basic of basic mechanics trainable in fun game modes it should at least help a few new players in some way. What are your thoughts?

Just wanted to say that uping the system requirements with a new game engine just seems like a bad idea. What's the point of requiring people to go balls deep into a decent gaming pc when as it is right now that's not a requirement. Gaming pc's cost people a lot of money and graphic cards are still expensive.

We def need an upgraded version, and the creative mode its a great idea that can improve it.. There is always room for improvement something static becomes dull.. Rocket lasted long because of the learning curves of mechanics and competitive scenes, however the content is become static and therefore dull
i think instead of a new game, they do a massive overhaul on the current game, or just add huge things one by one, which would be easier. I would love for psyonix to make the workshop maps a playable game mode. I mean, not all of them of course but like, volleyball, quidditch, maybe tetherball… that would add so much more to the game
I think they should add a "trading center" inside of a creative mode where you can go and find people to trade with in game. They also should add a map workshop for console, they should add more extra modes, a story mode, and even a 4v4 competitive ranked mode. They should add 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments. We should be able to upload our own car designs. We also need a graphics, engine, and server update. We need more maps. We also need an extra mode for 3v3, 2v2, and 1v1 with PENALTIES. Add more soundtracks. Change the logo a little bit. Make challenges and tourney wins more rewarding. And then boom, Rocket League 2.
And how can the story fit in a car physics soccer game? Maybe like vz teams with more upgraded AI, and with cinematic and story telling while teaching all the mechanics on rocket league like air dribbles, and flicks? Actually that would be a great idea, to introduce all the complex mechanics into something enjoyable, like a cinematic story..
If we had new physics it would be like when the NBA changed balls and people would have to pretty much restart a lot of there progress of becoming good players.

It's not so much q copy pasta as each person has been talking about these things for a while now. Content creators are not happy with psyonix because they aren't transparent and seemingly aren't doing jack shit but cash grab updates
Maybe a completely customizable car and music track? I mean that you could choose the hitbox, regions of the car (like a gtav garage, or wide variety of, for example, hood types, interchangeable between different cars, but still acquired form crates/trading), and custom music. If I want to play never gonna give you up every time I score, then gosh darn it I should be able to. Also, as I saw someone else said, egg people. Full on shellshockers up in here. Maybe a side game where it’s shellshockers or just egg soccer? I would love that and it would make for some funny content.
Maybe thats not a bad idea. U might have to use the right cars for the right strategies. Maybe bigger slower ones in defense and faster higher jumping ones or one that makes faster hits in offense. Like u have to balance it out a bit. And that in combination with a bigger field and maybe 5-8 players per team could be sick
We need something new. I don't care what it is just make it new. Actually scratch the previous sentence; WE DO CARE. By this we mean no "new" dlc car to buy from the shop. Not even this season's rewards are new. Epic and Psyonix need to make something new for RL or RL players will leave RL and find a new game themselves.
I think RL needs less updates. There are too many modes, like they should just eliminate every mode other than freeplay, ranked 3s, 2s and 1s or maybe let's make that only ranked 3s.. cause we all know that freetraining is boring af and it absolutetly does not help you to improve. The best way to improve at the game is playing 3s, so you have 2 teammates to blame. In fact they should add more explicit quick-chat messages. I do not only want to what a save a teammate after he screws up, I want to curse him so bad that it'll (yea, it's an "it") have to call cops on me, with just a 2 button presses instead of doing the hard work of pulling out keyboard and type that. I think that the game allows too much customization, I do not care about the car look if it feels the same whichever way you paint it, in fact there should be only 1 type of car and everyone should look the same, so we all understand that in the end we are all human beings just like everyone else. I also think they should get rid of this ridiculous "not pay to win" philosophy, I just want people to actually have cars that improve their speed every time you level up or rank up. And you could pay to make your car even faster, for like a limited amount of time, depending on how much you've payed. Talking about ranks I think there are too many, like come on, 3 levels for almost each of the ranks? They should just do 2 big fat ranks: pros and noobs. That's what we need. No one cares about names like diamond, gold or other ore names, you're just either a noob or a pro. And finally about creative mode, I totally think that's complete bullshit. It shall not be done. No one wants to create different game modes. People are dumb af and devs shouldn't care about what they want, but instead should care about what they need. Gran Turismo did the 'make your own skins' thing and quite a few cars turned out like you'd expect... As for the meta, I believe all cars should have a more real hitbox. And I don't think it would kill to have different speeds, turning, acceleration, etc... for different cars. Just my thoughts for the past 6yrs of playing. It all seems so homogeneous at times.

Alright... So lets get to it... Talking about the graphics, yes we need to pump it up. We see a lot of cool advertisements bout octane and other cars having lights on and the drift, boost and many other effects be focused and highlighted,so that needs to be highlighted in the game as well Secondly, the meta for rocket league needs to keep coming up, ofc the game style shouldn't change much, but enough that we feel it's a new game. Altogether we need new maps every now and then, they could make private matches with limited maps that we could buy if we're rich or just win em from drops, maybe even make em win in tournaments. Coming to tournaments, the rewards should change every week, folks should carry enough credits to go all out on a set of rewards which they feel they would want to have. Keeping the same rewards all season gets boring and makes people play less tournaments. Lastly, we do need a higher level of customizations to make the car feel like it's unique, for example, getting a new set of headlamps or exhausts, or even less distracting car underglows that we get via bakkesmod. Having all these in mind I suppose we should be able to have rocket league 2 and it should be more enjoyable. The numbers would easily go back up, I would assure it. To sign off, I would say let it not be a free game, make it minimal like 3 or 5 dollars, just for namesake so that folks would have the minimal value. Make the transition free for folks already on the game, that would generate a little revenue and make people stay considering they feel they have a game which is worthwhile keeping it✌️
This is what they should do. 1. New maps 2. Rework on graphics 3. a rotating weekly game mode / race / flying track rumble style, power ups blar blar blar. 4. Creative mode They cannot change the core gam.
I 1000% agree with all that has been said by you Fluump. My suggestion is that all these features definitely deserve being added and maybe Psyonix should make a complete revamp of the game and maybe even calling it: "Rocket League Remasterd" or something along these lines.
Creative : yes (make your own maps and play with your friends on them) costumization: yes make your own decals with custom colors, or change the color of your wheels, and add LED s and change their colours, make them rgb graphics improvement :no rocket league is a competitive game and i dont think they should make the graphics as nice as possible, i think they should leave them how they are right now

I agree that sometimes, grinding rl isn’t as fun anymore and that psyonix needs to add other stuff but I feel like if they were to create a whole new game, everything would change. They should add some sort of spectation system and someway to appear offline I always join my friends when they’re half way through a game and say you should’ve seen that goal etc
I always kinda thought of like an rlcs game with all the pros and instead of you controlling them they are cpu(kinda like 2k or madden) and they all have stats and some of them are better than others like some of the players would be slightly faster than others and some of them would get demos without having to go max speed or even some for retired pros and you could make some dream teams like jstn, first killer, and monkey moon. I know it would be very difficult to make but it’s just something I have been thinking about for a bit.
I think a new concept that could be added to RL that would really create a new feel for the existing game would be ball spin, you could curve shots, create backspin which could throw off your opponent and create new shots, new mechanics, and change the entire feeling of RL.
A new game mode idea could be volleyball, which yes is basically Drop shot but better. I think it would just bring many new ways for people to compete with one another, because we already have Hoops, so why not volleyball?
I think the biggest part is to listen to the community. We have wanted underlight for how long we still havent got it. We have wanted new game modes like volleyball we still havent got it. We have wanted a new rank for top 100 and we still havent got it. Psyonix need to listen to us and create stuff that we want aswell as surprising us with stuff. About the car customization segment with the game being f2p they basically only make money from dlc cars and trading if you allow people to do what they want with their car then they literally make no money which will make the pro scene suffer and the pro scene is what is keeping rl afloat if that dips the whole game will die (alot of games have flourishing esports but for rl it kinda relies on it)
Add more game modes it's all the same stuff like more 4v4 game modes and the ability to have every game mode ranked or something plus customizable cars in more depth and have 2 tone paint jobs like able to change the secondary of the decal all this colored stuff is just dumb
but like isnt it the players' job to create new metas? cuz it has been changing from heavy team play to individual play to the bump meta and now it seems like team play is coming back a little (atleast in the higher ranks) edit: or possibly something else
If they could actually fix the bots and make them good. That would be amazing. Also if they could make more maps, for the extra modes I think k that would be great too
i dont think that a new game is needed, just because theres no content as of right now doesnt mean saying 6 months or earlier we wont get a roadmap lets say, that'll change the change the game in every way we want, lets say in 6 months they announce that behind the scenes theyve been working with pros, coaches and content creators and will realease info on what they want to bring to the game all at once. Patience is key, this company never let us down hugely anyways but time will come.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but come on guys epic games or psyonix aren't going to make a rocket league two. And changing the physics of the game is a bad idea imo. I think all the game needs is creative mode and better servers.
I really agree with you in everything you said here. I came up with an really cool idea. This idea is either for 3v3s or for a brand new game mode. The points is: Your car gets more and more damaged by the damage you cause by hitting the walls, ceilings and bumping either teammates or opponents. Your car gets weaker and weaker for every time you hit the walls etc. I guess you get it by now. You can decide yourself when you want to repair your car. You can repair your car whenever you want and how much you want to repair. But you have a limited amount of times repairing. If this is considered as a game mode, you should party up as 3. On the field there is 2v2, and when someone needs to change their car, the other teammate joins the match. You can only spectate your own teammates while waiting for someone to repair their car. I feel this could've made a quite change to the game. Lmk if you like it :D
I think you should be able to make a sort of Frankenstein car made up of car parts from multiple different cars like the octane spoiler on the dominus body or add in some sort of progression path for each car to unlock more parts as you use it

rocket league is not a game. its a sport. and u cant change the physics or meta of a sport. the rocket league physics and gameplay must always stay the same
I wouldnt change the actual physics however i would like to see a new mechanic : exaples: extra jump pads, rumble power up pads(you coupd drive over to your or opponents right corner to pick up a boot every 20 seconds and the middle cirkle to pick up freeze, left corner for haystack and so on.
Maybe with the mobile game "Rocket League sideswipe" there will come new players and try out the real Rocket League after seeing sd for the Handy game and saying "ohh, that's a nice game, I wanna try that on PC or consol"
Not a bad idea however def a bad idea if this is added to the original competitive ranks because it will kill the efforts that players added into mastering their mechanics in a certain state of physics... If you change that physics its like re-learning.. However as an aside game mode, where the floor can be slippery due to ice, where areas can shackle due to earth quake, and tornado can flick the ball, makes the momentum of the game wavy, or unpredictable and funny.. In others words It would be a nice touch
Personally, I think the only thing we need is new ranked game modes such as heatseeker(ranked), volleyball and something which EVERYONE wants, the option to choose solo rumble or doubles dropshot.

Good idea if it doesn't infer without the existing competitive game, in other words having this idea in a different game mode would be a nice touch however def would be extremely difficult to balance in a competitive mode, and might kill the existing mechanics of the game
If they did make a second game, going back to individualized hit boxes for each car would be nice, maybe even different stats all around. Like the Dominus could be faster on the ground but heavy so an Octane might beat it to an aerial or something.

I think every car should have a different hitbox, so not everyone uses octane and new car releases actually mean anything to gameplay
But then people who can't buy those new cars can't have access to different hitboxes... Maybe if they release a "free version" of each hitbox and then have the licensed version with the different aesthetics ?
Exemplifying: make a different hitbox for the nissan skyline, and make a different car without the nissan skyline aesthetics, but keeping the same hitbox.

Let’s take Overwatch for example, it’s only getting a sequel because it has a story. I don’t know what they are gonna do with cosmetic but it’s gonna be particularly the same game with new game modes and story. Rocket League doesn’t have a story, it’s more of sport like Chess or Soccer/Football.
Ngl after 5 years of playing, and grinding rocket league I put it aside. It got repetitive when it came to the updates, and the gameplay as well. This could change everything.

I think the biggest thing would be car “classes”. Make one slower but more resistant to demos and better at making them. Make another car faster and use boost more efficiently but super vulnerable to bumps and demos. etc, etc… would make pro team composition an actual thing and would add entertainment to every match.
If those potatoes can't run the game the players will be 100k instead of 500k

I’m fine with the horns as long as you can disable all horns in the match. I’m sure people would use macro’s to constantly horn which is going to ruin the focus in ranked. If you can disable it all it will be fine for me. I agree 100% with the underglow though.

This is making me so pumped for a Rocket League 2!!! Please God (and Psyonix) we need a Rocket League 2! Although it is my opinion that the OG players and freestylers would be very pissed if the physics changed too much. Hopefully they don't change the physics very much. They should do something that does not change something but instead adds something (if you know what I mean). They could add two strengths of boost or triple jump or a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 competitive gamemode or cars that can transform in the middle of the game (for instance you could be in the octane and dominus car and in the middle of the game you could switch between them for different scenarios). I dunno what y'all think but if we have creative mode and more gamemodes and maybe something like the things I was talking about I'll be very exited about Rocket League 2!!

We need a team mmr in ranked so you have different mmr with different people, this way the focus is not on the individual but on the team instead
Adding a leveling system to the cars is another way to spice the game up, adding different spoilers, skirts and so one if you lvl your car

If you did this you could have 3 gc's, win a bunch of games. Have 1 player make a smurf account and join that team. boom, new team with new mmr? that wouldn't make sense.

@@trevorcrain9620 a variety would be nice. But an obstacle course would be more fun since in a drag race, all cars are made equal in this games so it wouldn’t work unless they introduce new mechanics.
Of course people will leave, this game requires a ton of time investment and smart training to get to a level where the game is fun.
I think the game is just way too focused on ranking up, plus the time it takes to get better as you mentioned. I think, the game should have new game modes that allow people to train and have fun at the same time. Not super certain how to do it but Heatseeker for example has helped me learn to aerial. If we can get at least the most basic of basic mechanics trainable in fun game modes it should at least help a few new players in some way. What are your thoughts?

The golden age of rocket league is over. Im not mad about it. I had a lot of fun over the years but it’s time to let it pass. Natural ebb and flow of games unfortunately.
Just wanted to say that uping the system requirements with a new game engine just seems like a bad idea. What's the point of requiring people to go balls deep into a decent gaming pc when as it is right now that's not a requirement. Gaming pc's cost people a lot of money and graphic cards are still expensive.

We don't need Rocket League 2. It's a very simple game at it's core, and that's why its so damn fun.
We def need an upgraded version, and the creative mode its a great idea that can improve it.. There is always room for improvement something static becomes dull..
Rocket lasted long because of the learning curves of mechanics and competitive scenes, however the content is become static and therefore dull
i think instead of a new game, they do a massive overhaul on the current game, or just add huge things one by one, which would be easier. That way it is more accessible to people, but they dont have an update for a while until a massive overhaul. I agree with alot of the stuff you did say, if they are working on it, i am super hype

I would love for psyonix to make the workshop maps a playable game mode. I mean, not all of them of course but like, volleyball, quidditch, maybe tetherball… that would add so much more to the game

I think they should add a "trading center" inside of a creative mode where you can go and find people to trade with in game. They also should add a map workshop for console, they should add more extra modes, a story mode, and even a 4v4 competitive ranked mode. They should add 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments. We should be able to upload our own car designs. We also need a graphics, engine, and server update. We need more maps. We also need an extra mode for 3v3, 2v2, and 1v1 with PENALTIES. Add more soundtracks. Change the logo a little bit. Make challenges and tourney wins more rewarding. And then boom, Rocket League 2.
What if there would be some kind of story mode with cinametics and everything, like Fortnite has the 'save the world' mode
And how can the story fit in a car physics soccer game? Maybe like vz teams with more upgraded AI, and with cinematic and story telling while teaching all the mechanics on rocket league like air dribbles, and flicks? Actually that would be a great idea, to introduce all the complex mechanics into something enjoyable, like a cinematic story..

I mean that you could choose the hitbox, regions of the car (like a gtav garage, or wide variety of, for example, hood types, interchangeable between different cars, but still acquired form crates/trading), and custom music. If I want to play never gonna give you up every time I score, then gosh darn it I should be able to.
Also, as I saw someone else said, egg people. Full on shellshockers up in here. Maybe a side game where it’s shellshockers or just egg soccer? I would love that and it would make for some funny content.

Maybe thats not a bad idea. U might have to use the right cars for the right strategies. Maybe bigger slower ones in defense and faster higher jumping ones or one that makes faster hits in offense. Like u have to balance it out a bit. And that in combination with a bigger field and maybe 5-8 players per team could be sick

We need something new. I don't care what it is just make it new. Actually scratch the previous sentence; WE DO CARE. By this we mean no "new" dlc car to buy from the shop. Not even this season's rewards are new.

I think RL needs less updates.
There are too many modes, like they should just eliminate every mode other than freeplay, ranked 3s, 2s and 1s or maybe let's make that only ranked 3s.. cause we all know that freetraining is boring af and it absolutetly does not help you to improve. The best way to improve at the game is playing 3s, so you have 2 teammates to blame. In fact they should add more explicit quick-chat messages. I do not only want to what a save a teammate after he screws up, I want to curse him so bad that it'll (yea, it's an "it") have to call cops on me, with just a 2 button presses instead of doing the hard work of pulling out keyboard and type that.
I think that the game allows too much customization, I do not care about the car look if it feels the same whichever way you paint it, in fact there should be only 1 type of car and everyone should look the same, so we all understand that in the end we are all human beings just like everyone else.
I also think they should get rid of this ridiculous "not pay to win" philosophy, I just want people to actually have cars that improve their speed every time you level up or rank up. And you could pay to make your car even faster, for like a limited amount of time, depending on how much you've payed.
Talking about ranks I think there are too many, like come on, 3 levels for almost each of the ranks? They should just do 2 big fat ranks: pros and noobs. That's what we need. No one cares about names like diamond, gold or other ore names, you're just either a noob or a pro.
And finally about creative mode, I totally think that's complete bullshit. It shall not be done. No one wants to create different game modes. People are dumb af and devs shouldn't care about what they want, but instead should care about what they need. And a community made of kid with an average age of 8 weeks, does not need a creative mode. And that's it.
Those are my opinions on RL.

Gran Turismo did the 'make your own skins' thing and quite a few cars turned out like you'd expect...
As for the meta, I believe all cars should have a more real hitbox. And I don't think it would kill to have different speeds, turning, acceleration, etc... for different cars. Just my thoughts for the past 6yrs of playing. It all seems so homogeneous at times.

Alright... So lets get to it... Talking about the graphics, yes we need to pump it up. We see a lot of cool advertisements bout octane and other cars having lights on and the drift, boost and many other effects be focused and highlighted,so that needs to be highlighted in the game as well
Secondly, the meta for rocket league needs to keep coming up, ofc the game style shouldn't change much, but enough that we feel it's a new game. Altogether we need new maps every now and then, they could make private matches with limited maps that we could buy if we're rich or just win em from drops, maybe even make em win in tournaments.
Coming to tournaments, the rewards should change every week, folks should carry enough credits to go all out on a set of rewards which they feel they would want to have. Keeping the same rewards all season gets boring and makes people play less tournaments.
Lastly, we do need a higher level of customizations to make the car feel like it's unique, for example, getting a new set of headlamps or exhausts, or even less distracting car underglows that we get via bakkesmod.
Having all these in mind I suppose we should be able to have rocket league 2 and it should be more enjoyable. The numbers would easily go back up, I would assure it.
To sign off, I would say let it not be a free game, make it minimal like 3 or 5 dollars, just for namesake so that folks would have the minimal value. Make the transition free for folks already on the game, that would generate a little revenue and make people stay considering they feel they have a game which is worthwhile keeping it✌️
we need custom maps on consol and people playing split screen can trade iteams to each other.

1. New maps
2. Rework on graphics
3. a rotating weekly game mode / race / flying track rumble style, power ups blar blar blar.
4. Creative mode

I 1000% agree with all that has been said by you Fluump. My suggestion is that all these features definitely deserve being added and maybe Psyonix should make a complete revamp of the game and maybe even calling it: "Rocket League Remasterd" or something along these lines.

I luv rocket league but something needs change. I agree that sometimes, grinding rl isn’t as fun anymore and that psyonix needs to add other stuff but I feel like if they were to create a whole new game, everything would change. Including community, gameplay and just the love for rocket league! I want rocket league to have a creative mode and maybe som more customization for example but not go over the top and create a whole new game! I always kinda thought of like an rlcs game with all the pros and instead of you controlling them they are cpu(kinda like 2k or madden) and they all have stats and some of them are better than others like some of the players would be slightly faster than others and some of them would get demos without having to go max speed or even some for retired pros and you could make some dream teams like jstn, first killer, and monkey moon. I know it would be very difficult to make but it’s just something I have been thinking about for a bit.
I think a new concept that could be added to RL that would really create a new feel for the existing game would be ball spin, you could curve shots, create backspin which could throw off your opponent and create new shots, new mechanics, and change the entire feeling of RL.
A new game mode idea could be volleyball, which yes is basically Drop shot but better. I think it would just bring many new ways for people to compete with one another, because we already have Hoops, so why not volleyball?
I think the biggest part is to listen to the community. We have wanted underlight for how long we still havent got it. We have wanted new game modes like volleyball we still havent got it. We have wanted a new rank for top 100 and we still havent got it. Psyonix need to listen to us and create stuff that we want aswell as surprising us with stuff. Like we have had how many decals as season rewards. Sorry for the massive rant but rocket league needs upgrading on the astetics and cosmetics

About the car customization segment with the game being f2p they basically only make money from dlc cars and trading if you allow people to do what they want with their car then they literally make no money which will make the pro scene suffer and the pro scene is what is keeping rl afloat if that dips the whole game will die (alot of games have flourishing esports but for rl it kinda relies on it)
Add more game modes it's all the same stuff like more 4v4 game modes and the ability to have every game mode ranked or something plus customizable cars in more depth and have 2 tone paint jobs like able to change the secondary of the decal all this colored stuff is just dumb
Sonix doesnt add anything cause Epic Games (the ones who made FORTNITE) bought Sonix ans the game (Rocket League).
but like isnt it the players' job to create new metas? cuz it has been changing from heavy team play to individual play to the bump meta and now it seems like team play is coming back a little (atleast in the higher ranks)

i dont think that a new game is needed, just because theres no content as of right now doesnt mean saying 6 months or earlier we wont get a roadmap lets say, that'll change the change the game in every way we want, lets say in 6 months they announce that behind the scenes theyve been working with pros, coaches and content creators and will realease info on what they want to bring to the game all at once. Patience is key, this company never let us down hugely anyways but time will come.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but come on guys epic games or psyonix aren't going to make a rocket league two. And changing the physics of the game is a bad idea imo. I think all the game needs is creative mode and better servers.
I really agree with you in everything you said here. I came up with an really cool idea. This idea is either for 3v3s or for a brand new game mode. The points is: Your car gets more and more damaged by the damage you cause by hitting the walls, ceilings and bumping either teammates or opponents. Your car gets weaker and weaker for every time you hit the walls etc. I guess you get it by now. You can decide yourself when you want to repair your car. You can repair your car whenever you want and how much you want to repair. But you have a limited amount of times repairing. If this is considered as a game mode, you should party up as 3. On the field there is 2v2, and when someone needs to change their car, the other teammate joins the match. You can only spectate your own teammates while waiting for someone to repair their car. I feel this could've made a quite change to the game.

I think you should be able to make a sort of Frankenstein car made up of car parts from multiple different cars like the octane spoiler on the dominus body or add in some sort of progression path for each car to unlock more parts as you use it
If they make a new game there MUST be a way to transfer items you own currently because for trades like me you dont want to loose everything
Maybe categories of new hitboxes that targets certain group of cars would be a more realistic move for rocket league..

I wouldnt change the actual physics however i would like to see a new mechanic : exaples: extra jump pads, rumble power up pads(you coupd drive over to your or opponents right corner to pick up a boot every 20 seconds and the middle cirkle to pick up freeze, left corner for haystack and so on.

I know this might sound weird but the weather of the pitch changes how your car moves. Just like in football (soccer).
Not a bad idea however def a bad idea if this is added to the original competitive ranks because it will kill the efforts that players added into mastering their mechanics in a certain state of physics... If you change that physics its like re-learning.. However as an aside game mode, where the floor can be slippery due to ice, where areas can shackle due to earth quake, and tornado can flick the ball, makes the momentum of the game wavy, or unpredictable and funny.. In others words It would be a nice touch
Personally, I think the only thing we need is new ranked game modes such as heatseeker(ranked), volleyball and something which EVERYONE wants, the option to choose solo rumble or doubles dropshot.
imagine if different hitboxes had different speeds, max amount of boost you can have, or other randomness. This would bring in a whole new meta to rocket league kind of how valorant and overwatch have different characters that have different roles for their team.

Good idea if it doesn't infer without the existing competitive game, in other words having this idea in a different game mode would be a nice touch however def would be extremely difficult to balance in a competitive mode, and might kill the existing mechanics of the game
If they did make a second game, going back to individualized hit boxes for each car would be nice, maybe even different stats all around. Like the Dominus could be faster on the ground but heavy so an Octane might beat it to an aerial or something.
Yeah that does sound interesting, harder to balance but it would make it an= bit more similar to like hero type games like overwatch and valorant
