The one thing that he didn’t do was pop the filler cap on top of the engine. Doing that helps the old oil drain from the entire engine block,if you don’t you’re leaving dirty oil in the engine. And always prime the filter!

On my Nissans if you don't pop the cap it barely drains. On the Jeep it wasn't as bad.

WOW that drain plug was way over torqued
