Oh, my goodness! It was such a pleasure to watch your tiles come to life with the bead embellishments and mica powders. Can’t wait to try this technique myself. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
wow just fantastic, I am new to clay and wire working,, So you have shown me another way to work with clay and glass beads thank you so much for sharing.
I don't know how you'll feel about this, but these are some of my favorite youtube videos. When I can't craft, for whatever reason - my muse is on vacay or I'm out of town - I love watching your tile videos. They're relaxing and inspiring. And I love seeing your fur and feather babies!
I am so glad I found you today! You have a new fan! I have recently started doing polymer clay and am excited about starting a stash of mosaic tiles! I recently bought some small wooden boxes I planned to cover, and I now know where to start!
I enjoy your process real time vids. Even though you think you are repeating yourself, the project is different and i like to see how you figure out which colors to use, which stamps and all the rest. Thanks.
You are so multi talented I also love watching you thank you so much for sharing and taking time for us out of your days all the best Diane in the uk x
Thanks for sharing. I love your channel and your a great inspiration for me. When I started first working with clay last year I was obsessed with watching your tutorials and your finished work over and over again! And I had to take a break from clay for awhile once I got burnt out from it, and now I’m starting to play again and these have come at the perfect time! Thank you sharing!
I cant tell you how happy I am to find you working with clay agin....I enjoy them so much! Everything is beautiful as usual....can’t wait for the next one....hugs!
I can't wait for part 2! Embedding beads and crystals or something I haven't tried yet. Not sure I have the patients and dexterity required for handling such small items. Hopefully part 2 comes up Sunday or Monday cuz those are my days off. As always, thank you so much for sharing. And like Karen said, I don't feel you are repeating, because even though the technique might be the same, the project is different, and seeing how your brain works is just as helpful.
OMGosh, these are so awesome, and you do a fantastic job at decorating them. I will definetly be making some of these as soon as I obtain some of that mica stuff. Thanks for sharing.
very, very nice. I was glad to see you using the shimmer pastes, I've been wanting to purchase those although I have so many other mediums that are great like the Perfect Pearls and Pearl Ex but to watch you use it here makes me see that I prefer the look of the powders better than the wax based ones. Thank you and I am so glad I have stumbled upon your channel. Been watching lots of your clay videos this a.m.
You just singlehandedly made me purchase some Pearl Ex.... I'd been umming and ahhhing about them, but I have now pulled trigger... These are fantastic. Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
CazKiwi NZ it’s a clay cutting blade. I use the throw away blades from cheap utility knives. I get 6 for £1. A much cheaper alternative to the clay cutting blades that retail in England £9.99 for 4.
What are you coming up with? I’m starting to think of Christmas too, and am wanting to do something with clay for co-workers that is not too involved, as I have many. Would love to hear ideas.
So far I am doing tiles for a frame, but I am going to try to do some funny animals I think next. I did a candle holder back in winter for my daughter. I have some baby food jars I want to do some more smaller candle holders. My first batch of tiles turned out pretty good. I used mica powders and Inka Gold on them and some stamps I had. Really fun to do. Hope this helps.
Also for PearlEx there is no binder like Perfect Pearls have. You can mix powder Gum Arabic into the jars and that acts as a binding agent. I dont think water is sufficient to make PearlEx permanent, but the clay may be enough to grab it. Just more information for you.
just had a thought, do you have a die cut machine? You could use any flower or shape, etc., of dies to cut out of aluminum foil or can, you could do just aluminum foil if you back it with card stock and embed those. Thought about you when I was thinking about using gears.
This is absolutely beautiful! I've always wanted to work with Polymer clay and your video has given me that nudge that I needed. :o) I love the black clay background, however, I was wondering how it would look with a white background as well? Thank you so much for this tutorial!
I was hoping you would be doing some more clay mosaics, and here you are! LOL. THANK YOU for the step by step. Mine tend to bubble up sometimes, and/or the edges don't quite match up when I go to 'puzzle' the finished piece together... can you address those issues in your future videos? Thank you again! :)
I love watching your videos. I have gobs of trinkets etc that I never know what to do with so this is perfect. Seems like you do a few different crafts as I do also so I can relate to you. So glad I found your channel. Do you have one video where you explain the chakras? It all sounds so interesting. Bye for now.
First of all I want to thank you for all the wonderful videos you do and especially the ones about the clay tiles because I've been starting my journey with learning how to make my own mosaics. I've read Laurie Mika's book, but it's always easier for me when I have a visual like a video to teach me and give me inspiration. I usually don't like watching longer videos but I always love watching yours! So thank you thank you thank you. And forgive me if you said in the video and I didn't hear, but I wanted to ask when you condition the clay in the pasta machine, what setting do you do it on? And what setting thickness do you usually end up with for the size of the tiles if its different?
Hi Lauren. Thanks so much. When I condition with the pasta machine I start out on the thicker setting and as it gets softer go thinner. Depending on what I’m doing to the tile it can be quite thin or if I’m embedding something it’s a bit thicker. I’d say 5 is a good way to go but it’s been a while. Just see if it holds it’s shape before baking and that’s probably good. Tfw. Sara
Sarah T I never used any varnish or finish on any of my projects. I did buy a spray that was recommended and never actually used it. It’s called crystal kote matte varnish. By Helmar.
I know you're not wearing a mask in this video, but using long term mica powders can damage your sinuses and lungs. I know it's not fun, but please do it. I'm loving your channel, love your Jersey accent and joyfulness. Blessings to you and your family. xxXX Grambo

Patients? Really, auto correct? I'm sure you could translate but that should have said patience. :-)
ahmalia00 you are welcome. I will keep doing what I’m doing then. Thank you.

Cynthia Richter thanks Cynthia - that does. I have done similar projects with the PC tiles. You’re right - they are fun!
You could try pan pastels they would have a red you could use. Just love your tutorials.
Watched again! Love listening to you!
Thank you Donna
FYI there are red PearlEx Powders. Thanks for teaching how you do these. Someday I will give this a try!
Those are so Beautiful 👍👍👍👍have a Blessed day
I LOVE the embedding!

Doing these tiles is the most fun I’ve had with all my clothes on
Jane A. Thomas 🤣😂🤣😂😂😂🤣👍
That pink on the bird looks like purple but nevertheless I love your tiles!!!
Love this❣️

OneVeryHappyBird well I have tried it with white and everything is much less vivid. It’s a look but this was what I was wanting. Tfw. Sara
Beautifully made Sarah! I love the use of beads and crystals. Have you tried Pan Pastels? You can layer more than one colour on top of each other.
I was hoping you would be doing some more clay mosaics, and here you are! LOL. THANK YOU for the step by step. Susie Roberts hi Susie. I’m glad too. I bought a book on chakra but you can find out plenty on google I’m sure.

What is thickness of your tiles? pasta machine ? I saw you use the Amaco machine??
Nice Tiles! Wish you would make some now. I have a question. Do you use a Matte Finish??
Sarah T I never used any varnish or finish on any of my projects. I did buy a spray that was recommended and never actually used it. It’s called crystal kote matte varnish. By Helmar.
Hi! 🙋🏼♀️
What is the flat sharp tool you are using to lift and cut the clay?
Also, what are the baking instructions please?
