Another great video! I've never "painted" my polymer clay so another challenge for me! TIP: Cut small squares of white and of black clay. Cut them in half diagonally. Match up one black half with one white half. Put your PearlEx powders (and the Perfect Pearls) over the whole square then bake. You now have samples on how the PearlEx looks on both color clays. This really helps with the Duo colors. They are usually one color on white and the other color on black. I keep these samples in a little notebook with coin pages. Whenever I'm looking for a particular color, I just pull out my notebook. Happy claying!
Sara you are such an enabler! I love that you cut these designs up into tiles because I've watched your tile videos over and over and that's my interest right now. Finally received the oven yesterday so today is my first day to work with clay and I was excited to see you doing tiles again, so working along with you. Thank you for doing real time it's so helpful as a beginner.......Sandi
Hi Sara , I loved these ,they turned out so pretty especially with the stickles. I did flinch when you cut up the beautiful ATC size lol. Great video I really enjoyed watching you create them. Tfs hugs Sarah xx
As soon as I saw the video last night I have been trying to find these stamps. I live 5 minutes from a Hobby Lobby and Michaels is right across the street, but they don't have any. Joann's is about a mile down the road, so I will go there today. I tried Hampton Arts website, but it wouldn't give me any store locations, not even Amazon. I finally found the artist's name and she is Angela Porter and she does coloring books too (that I really love!). I emailed her about where to find the stamps. You have created a monster.
Hi, I'm glad to see you playing with clay!! I want to suggest adding Inca Gold after you bake. Then buff it after the application. I've been watching others videos and found this application process. You can also add water to Inca Gold and paint with it..... I love your videos! Thanks for making them. BTW: I love them in the real time with all your comments.
So cute. You mentioned about using markers on your clay... I saw a video recently that tested different markers on clay and the only one that remained 'pure' and did not fade was the PITT pens. Even the Sharpies faded out within 6 months. Just wanted to share that with you.
im so impressed by this but when you cut it I was like oh nooooo then when you stickled it was oh wow!!! but what do you do with them? they are so pretty.
OH WOW THIS IS GREAT!!! I am like you and get board with what I am working on. My hubby is not wanting to spend a lot. I need the Micah powder and charms. But when it comes to the pasta roller...it's kinda out of the budget with all the other things I need. I know just wait and get a little at a time. patience has never been my strong suit!!! Can I make these tiles with a rolling pin?? I need cheap right now. HELP!! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SOOOOO MUCH!!!
Hi Sara, I’ve been following you for awhile & just love you & your videos. I decided to try clay tiles so I made a trip to Michael’s to get supplies. I’m home with Sculpey III & it is sticking to everything. I cannot make anything without the stamps, knife, etc. sticking to the clay & getting distorted just trying to release the tools. What am I doing wrong? Help,
Thanks o much. I am not a true polymer clay artist, so I use what I have like acrylic varnish, but I don' t know if that is right. Look at other artists channels to be sure. Sorry but TFW, Sara
I love your work TFS. Have you tried screen printing or gelli plating on clay yet? I was watching videos on that and it looked so cool. If you have I'll have to check out your video. I'm going to try it this week end, again TFS!
Tip: check out YT vids on Inka Gold on how to rehydrate and prevent molding. There is one on how to remove mold also. I think the Stickles makes the colors look brighter because they look wet. I've been going through your vids backwards and enjoying your journey.
Hello Sara: Love your stamp. I'm going to have to try to find that one. Do you cook the clay before applying the mica powder or after. I know you mentionned that before but I can't find that video again. Thank you for sharing. Annette
I love your work with these tiles. Do you know of any other brands of stamps used for coloring? I’m having trouble locating the Hampton Art ones in Australia. Thanks Beverley
Hi Beverly. I found these exact stamps at Lincraft just a couple of days ago and better still they were only $5 pack. I hope you have a store close by to where you live.
Jacqui Norris thank you so much Jacqui! There is a Small Lincraft not too far away. I’ll go today and see what they have. Appreciate your help. I’m in Long Jetty NSW.
I just checked also. If you really would like them I’m happy to get them for you and mail them up to you. I’m in Baxter Vic and the Lincraft is only a short drive away. There are actually 4 sets in this series. I only bought the 2 but was thinking I’ll go back and buy the other 2 as they are nice also.
Hi Sara! I've been stalking your channel listening for your recommendations of thickness your tiles are. I don't' have a pasta machine so rolling clay by hand SUCKS! So I need to measure the thickness myself and I have no idea what measurement it should be.. please help! lol
I was asking for a measurement of some sort. You say yourself if the tiles are too thin they turn brittle and break but you've never mentioned a measurement (not everyone has the luxury of a pasta machine or a nearby craft store)I respect you and I adore your work more than anyone I've come across therefore, of course I asked for your advice. I'll go elsewhere for now on. Thanks Sara you've been a doll.
That was just the simplest answer. I don't use specific measurements and each tile is made by hand so it is more organic. You just need to play a little bit and see what size you like. I have never had a tile break by itself. Hope that helps , TFW, Sara

Gosh, this is so beautiful and a great project!!! Thanks a lot :)))))

Sara, love your videos! Thank you for sharing ideas. Question, the tiles you pained after you baked...what paint did you use? I love the colors.

Lol ! Have to share this. I get focused on your videos and when you ask, "what do you think". I find myself replying back, " yep, I love it!" LOL!

OH WOW THIS IS GREAT!!! I am like you and get board with what I am working on.

Love the tiles you made. Did you put the Stickles on the tiles after you baked them, or before? Thanks for sharing!

I prefer the ones you painted after you baked... Ofcourse i'm only seeing them thru the computer monitor but thats my preference. Hugs1 deb
wow,,that is great tutorial. thank you so much, I have one question. How to seal polymer clay pieces to prevent ink smuding or fading in future?
Thanks o much. I am not a true polymer clay artist, so I use what I have like acrylic varnish, but I don' t know if that is right. Look at other artists channels to be sure. Sorry but TFW, Sara

+rosemread No I haven't tried silk screening yet. or gelli printing. I think that would make some pretty cool tiles. TFW, Sara

Jacqui Norris actually Jacqui I just checked that out but they don’t show up at all. Thanks.

Sara, do you bake the larger items in your regular oven? If so, do you clean it before baking food?
+Suzanne Wiegand No I only bake clay in a toaster over that I use only for clay. TFw, Sara
+myserenitycrafts Thanks Sara! I'm really surprised that the larger fairy house votive fit in your toaster oven. Maybe my oven is just small.
+Suzanne Wiegand I needed a big one cause last year I took classes and one of them was the under the sea votive and it was big.
Everything looks better with sparkles :)

Hello. Use a coupon and get a pasta machine. TFW, Sara
