All too often hear " the thermistors don't affect operation". Seldom have heard why they are diagnostically important. I've attended annual official Manitowoc trainings and not heard that emphasized enough.
I'm confused. What part of the units operation other than assisting diagnosis and throwing errors do the probes serve? I thought they don't actually do anything in terms of among ice?
@@TeefMahyour not confused you said it right. They only offer data. They don’t DO anything other than alert us to an issue if they’re working properly and make errors but if they fail it’s double useless.
lol. Sorry for the weird reply. I thought this was on a different video. 😂. Labor hours are labor hours. Everyone’s different and it depends how efficient we find the issue and if we have the parts on the van or now. No simple answer to that question sadly.
good day i has a manitowoc ice machine it drop ice then going into long harvest then after turning in off and on it makes ice then drop then goes back into long harvest. i replace the ice thickness probe the, the board and the problem still exist i tried what you explain in the video and still exist. what next can i tried
it’s making ice and dropping the ice ? But showing long harvest? Long harvest means the curtain switch didn’t open (aka ice didn’t drop) or if it did the board didn’t recognize it. The end. Long harvest happens when the ice thickness probe says start a harvest…. The harvest valve initiates and then waits for the curtain switch to open to start a freeze again. The board should show a light indicating the curtain is closed so when you manually open it that light should go out. Check that.
In the manual there is a procedure you can follow to troubleshoot the board
Very easy
Way to go.👍

Without accurate data how can we diagnose?

Sounds like it’s not recognizing the ice dropping. That’s a bad curtain switch.
i change the curtain switch and the issue still exist
