As I mentioned in the description the audio is a little muffled, I tried to adjust as best as possible but unfortunately the wrong microphone was chosen in the beginning, then was corrected then got switched again. 🤦🏻🤷.... I believe it's a down and dirty, get it done and make it run type video so give it view and crush the like button, it really helps the video placement.
I think it sounds just fine, maybe a bit different than usual, but understandable without issues. I don't touch ice machines (or anything commercial kitchen related, and am not planning to change that), but still an interesting video. I am sometimes surprised how much gunk can hide in those things! Disgusting to think that might end up in your drink, and you won't even know...
@@jman0870 I didn't mean this particular machine, this one really wasn't bad. I was talking about those where brown gunk comes out in layers and mold is growing in the case... 🤮
oh how cute at 2:04 the 120v receptacle with the "hot" blade facing upwards. always place the neutral blade or ground pin upwards(commercial/garage/outdoors) why? in the case of it being partially unplugged and something falling across it (tools, aluminum foil, metal baking sheets/pans/pots) less chance of shocking someone and/or sparks flying. I had a chuckle at 2:46 "harvest sensor here", """"water thickness"""" 🤣 good ole bloopers only some will catch and understand.
It may be for entertainment purposes now, but I watch because you have knowledge to share, and I'm always Learning something new at times from them! Thanks, brother.
In regards to why you make these videos: you helped me out a ton when starting out and still return to you and learn after these past 2 years. I especially love when you do electrical troubleshooting because you talk us through it.
The company I work for doesn’t do refrigeration, but I have been thinking about making a change. It’s nice to see the refrigeration side of the business just in case I end up at a place that does refrigeration.
Good job Rick, I definitely appreciate your knowledge on all that you have taught me, don't always do your line of work, but I have learned a lot from you and Chris, about commercial refrigeration, and sometimes heating, but both of you have made me head strong on the whole heating and cooling subject.
What do I say other than thank you! It's crazy to think how recording what I'm doing during my everyday life is helping others. Who would have thought this would be possible 15-20 years ago. (Mind blown)
Rick It’s been a month since I’ve been working with a commercial company. I’m coming from residential and you’ve helped me a TON. I really appreciate it man🤝🏾
Have learned a lot from your videos man, coming from hvac experience and switching to industrial maintenance i have been dealing with these units a lot. Thanks for your big effort making these videos. Keep up with good work! Always good to learn stuff from somebody with experience!
Thank you so very much for making these videos. I do appreciate them. I have worked doing HVAC for about 12 yrs, and recently gotten into refrigeration as well. Your videos help a lot. Thanks my friend for your time and sharing your knowledge.
Whenever I see one that’s got multiple sheets of ice that it can’t harvest stuck to it, I know to pay close attention to the evaporator. I don’t think they last as long as the old Q models did, unfortunately.
I agree, look for the plates separating and the slits coming apart. If they are not flush and flat with the panel, you're gonna have problems with the ice falling out.
I appreciate your videos! Even though my body ain't up to HVAC I still find it fascinating, and your channel has a great variety with high quality commentary. :)
Right? I was literally scooping black shit out from under the evaporator on an Indigo this past week. Used a gallon of cleaner on it and it was only a 230lb (I think) machine. It was a baby, full of gunk!
I do usually, I might not of in this one. Unless you're going to spray behind the coil with a power sprayer like I've done on other videos, it's never is really clean. (3/8 plastic head)👍👍
Hello.....I'm considering buying either a Manitowoc IYT0450A-161 or a Hoshizaki KML325MAJ 30". I currently have a Hoshizaki KM-201BAH, which is too small. Both of the machines I listed will work to ice my sodas and food for my hot dog trailer and it would be placed in my basement. They Hoshizaki is about $300 more, so which would you reccomend for what I'd use it for and is the extended warranty from Amazon a good idea? I use approximately 180 lbs to 240 a day, depending on the weather. Thanks.
We sell Manitowoc and it works good if it’s kept clean however usually then Hasaki is more resilient against abuse and not being cleaned. But I’m not sure about the smaller Machines from Hoshizaki.

If you replaced enough parts over time you will have a brand new machine.
