BBCF Arakune is really bad, but for those who don't know, BBCT Arakune was somehow even worse The most notable change from the bad old days: **BEING HIT BY OR BLOCKING AN ARAKUNE D MOVE INSTANTLY 100% CURSED YOU, OH MY GOD** Yes, really. This was especially egregious with 2 moves in particular 236D fart cloud, in addition to instantly cursing you, was also a tangible fireball with hitstun, meaning he could jail you out of jumping or combine it with his teleport to force a curse on you while simultaneously starting his offense. 2[D] ]D[ was literally a 1 button infinite block string against most characters because blocking 2D refilled the curse gauge, kept you out of range of burst/dead angle, and was a projectile so you didn't get pushed out by FD. BBCT had a guardcrush system where blocking too much broke your guard, btw. :) This would, of course, lead to recurse oki where he was incredibly +, and would usually do 50+% life. He was far and away one of the best characters in the game. The only thing that kept him down was that the two characters better than him (Rachel and v-13) completely dogged on him since they could actually force him to approach, which he was pretty bad at due to his floaty jump and lack of dash. He beat everyone else (-Carl, maybe) 7-3 or worse, easily.
Today is a good day. Whenever I see Arakune lose, I feel compelled to hop back into BB, specially since my girl Mu-12 has the tools to fight him. Great game from the Es player as well.
centralfiction really isn't dead, it has the exact same player numbers as uni2 at around 300 at peak hours. both have mid tier players in ranked match.

Tbf. Homies using the steam charts for the game which isn't completely accurate of the number of people actually playing the game. On release, the company handling the pc port (it wasn't French bread that handled porting) fucked up pretty badly to the point everyone moved to playstation. It took almost 2 months for the game to be playable on pc.... while tekken 8 was right next to it.
I got into fighting games with BlazBlue. Arakune was my favorite character ! I didn't know any combo or high tech stuff, but i always found this character to be so freakin cool, his design, his moves, his enigmatic story...
Man as much as I cannot stand Arakune this was still nice. I learned a good lesson from this video. I never played Es but the more I see her the more I kind of want to play her. Shoutout to that Es player, very well done.
God I love Blazblue. Calamity Trigger was the first fighting game I ever got good at (whatever that means to you) and to this day it's one of my favorites. The MOVEMENT, the combos, the overwhelming pressure and block strings, this game is my perfect fighting game. Every character is different from the last and has their own rules in interacting with the game systems. Even though I've been playing Litchi since forever, it's always fun picking up someone different for the week. This series has a niche that other game of the modern era are not covering imo. #bringbackbb
The good thing is that Arakune players are rare. There's none of them in my region. Also nice seeing more Es love. I'm definitely going to steal some combos from Zubreska.

Arakune was my main in Calamity Trigger. Then they changed him to be somewhat reasonable and so I dropped his ass. I'm here for that cheap easy shit so I play Mai now.

His gameplan always seemed (to me, granted a haku player from trigger, and I didn't play against many post his major nerf around like '10 if I'm remembering correctly) to play keep out, hit bells and gas clouds just at mid to play goop footsies trying to fish out hits from bells with cloud on till. He gets curse, then you have to dodge the labyrinth of bugs while navigating two touch situation... He's not a Nu style keep up zone, he's 100% (when played well) all about how well you can stay at the perfect distance with space control to keep them out while getting your bugs in.... He even has a teleport and invis to get out when someone keeps through his zone out... He's a super interesting concept imo... Whether he was executed well is up to interpretation and analysis, but I love playing against him personally I dunno. So... to balance he doesn't zone long range, he "zones" at a weird close mid... Which is actually INSANELY dangerous for him if the opponent has enough experience with the match up, with his lower health... He has to FIGHT to get that curse bar, and even then, if they know how to keep him out and wait out the timer, it isn't a guarantee... Blazblue is nuts because every character is so freaking weird and seems unbalanced if you see a specialist play someone. Especially if there opponent is unfamiliar with them... Which is super easy in the last version, as there are 549 characters haha I dunno, like I said, to each their own.
All this arakune hate is funny for me because I love gimmicky characters that no one likes I am a Chaos and Asuka player and I would have played arakune if I had joined the FGC earlier and I'm proud of that
