    His video 101 reasons to go vegan was the first vegan video I stumbled upon 7 years ago. It planted a seed and I've been vegan since.

    Between him and Gary Yourofsky on 8-4-14, their 2 videos was enough for me to never want animal products again and I haven’t cheated once.
    Gary was the tough love type and James was the good guy that reasoned with you.
    So glad to see James still around.

    10 years ago, at 45 years old I decided to go vegetarian and stop eating meat. 6 months later I read a comment online where someone said, it’s not enough to be a vegetarian you must be a vegan.” I googled “What is a vegan?” And this man’s lecture appeared on my screen. ‘The food matrix, 101 reasons to go vegan” I never cried so hard. I couldn’t even see through my tears. I instantly went vegan. At the time my husband said to me, “I give it a week “ well here we are 10 years later and I’m still vegan, as are two of my adult daughters. My husband and adult son eat plant based 90% of the time. I thank this man from the bottom of my heart for opening my eyes.

    Also, one area that nobody mentions is the pharmaceutical industry and the current coercion to take a particular medical procedure. Even on a vegan cooking channel, somebody was proudly stating she had taken that medical procedure. Was she ignorant of the ingredients, etc??

    Do the parents sign permission forms knowing what you're going to show the kids. I would love to have our grandkids understand why we are Plant-Based but I know our kids would be furious if we showed them slaughter house footage. You're right though. If I had seen that at 10 years old, I would have converted instantly.

    I was the exact same way! Vegetarian for 33 years before I went vegan for the last 5 …… so now 38 years no flesh, last 5 years no secretions. I made fun of Vegans as well. I said they were preachy & extreme …. I believed all the lies …. I thought the same meat Cow died for your leather jacket… That cows needed to be milked because it hurt their utters so we were actually “helping” the cows… I even joked that I just tortured the cow for milk thinking that I wasn’t really doing it, but I really was… No one dies in the dairy industry or egg industry… ALL the lies!

    When they say if you were stranded on a deserted island and it was just you & an animal would you kill them and eat them? I say I would follow that animal and find out what they are eating and I would eat the same thing they’re eating and become the animals friend… And if I have to die, at least I’ll die with a companion.

      Maybe talk to someone through one of these kickstarter programs. They may have dieticians or nutritionist that can help. I can only say that I have found eating beans, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each like the free Daily Dozen app by nutritionfacts.org recommends is all I need to do. I eat withing an 8 hour window, fast 16 usually without thinking about it. If you're eating a proper variety of whole plant foods, no oils, salt or sugar you presumably would obtain and maintain the perfect weight. Try walking at least 10 minutes after every meal too

      Remember to get a variety of each of these whole plant foods; beans, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices. If you're new to this there is a learning curve to achieve an easy, simple, healthy diet. Find someone that has been successful at this long term or a plant-based dietician, nutritionist, or doctor if you have serious concerns or issues. The free Daily Dozen app by nutritionfacts.org backed by the most comprehensive library on nutritional science is a great resource too. If these foods are new to you it may take time to acclimate. You may need to eat more but timing is important too. Consider time restricted intermittent fasting at some point if you have tummy issues, simply only eating within an 8 hour window does wonders. If you mess up don't worry. The ethics are usually inevitable. Afterall, why have someone abused and slaughtered unnecessarily. Furthermore it is completely unsustainable. Eating a proper variety of whole plant foods is best in every way ❤

    I enjoyed this video. But I did have this thought…How is going to SeaWorld different than having your own pet dog or cat and forcing them to be vegan? Surely our homes are not their natural habitat? Isn’t this thinking a little hypocritical? If you are going to try and shut down SeaWorld then we can’t have pets. Food for thought.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  2 роки тому +2

      I don't know if he has a dog or cat. But if we improve their quality of life then that's probably a good thing. These dogs and cats are domesticated which makes them completely different than taking a wild animal out of it's absolutely natural environment. One of the oldest dogs was vegan. So, if they are healthy and obviously happy rescues living longer more comfortable lives that's obviously completely did than taking aquatic life out of it's vast natural environment and confining that animal into a physically abusive situation.

    How is not having dairy and from a good source not ethical? It's a gift from the animal when done properly and does the body good

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  2 роки тому +17

      Milk is a gift from a lactating mother cow to her young, not humans. There isn't a need for Milk (unless you're an infant or at most toddler) and it is unhealthy compared to the alternatives and unsustainable. So there is no ethical way because when you normalize this unnecessary exploitation it grows into horrific, abusive concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO'S).
      She has Milk because we impregnate her through artificial insemination, essentially rape. This is why she lactates, for her calf.
      Veal is when they take the male calf from his mother and put him in a small veal create where it lives confined to be slaughtered young for his more tender flesh. Then they milk the dairy cow and repeat this process over and over in horrific confined operations to the point of exhausting her to death. She may live 4 years under these conditions instead of 15 to 20 years.
      Then they cut up her dead body up and grind her into small, easy to package round shapes so they can fit nice in your hand after being cooked and seasoned with plants so you can enjoy the taste. People become desensitized to this because they are separated from the process that has been normalized from lies like "Milk does a body good" when 70 percent of the world is lactose intolerant, and it comes with hormones cause cancer, saturated fat that causes cardiometabolic diseases, etc and it is completely unnecessary.
      Sure, when we weren't knowledgeable we were vulnerable and did what we had to do with what we had. So we simply need to move away from the abuse. It's wrong to hurt animals, bad for the environment, unhealthy and detremental to our healthcare and economy while insidiously fostering a violent culture.
